View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I'm currently running window 7 on my msi GT683-R. As of yesterday my internet stopped working, however only on my msi. I'm currently typing this on a borrowed mac using the same network that doesn't work on the other device. It also works on my iPhone. The problem is, neither the wifi nor the wired works on my MSI. I made sure DHCP was on, ran a TCP/IP stack reset, a winsock reset, have restarted my computer/router multiple times, and disabled bonjour but nothing seems to work.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently entered the realm of wireless networking for my desktops and was able to connect my personal desktop successfully. Unfortunately, the other desktop I really need to make wireless is having difficulties. The computer never shows the message that a new device is discovered/installed. The adapter shows up under hardware devices and functioning properly but this is not the case. I installed the driver from the included CD but when I use Windows to troubleshoot, it says that the driver and adapter aren't working. When trying to set up a new network, I get a grayed-out wireless icon in the system tray and can't proceed. I disabled the firewall and antivirus so I could start over, uninstalling the driver, restarting and installing again.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am unable to connect to the internet with my XP computer. I am running Apple Air Port as my router. The wireless network has an iMac, an IBM Think Pad(XP SP2)and a Dell XPS 410 (XP SP2). I am using WPA security and the Dell will not connect while the other two computers always connect. My wireless network is broadcasting, but when I try to connect after entering the proper key, it attempts to connect but appears to time out and displays the available wireless network. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but no success. Device Manager says the card is working and enabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an old computer that is Windows 98SE. It uses a dial-up connection, but I don't have a phone line anymore so I've been trying to find another way to connect it to the internet. I've tried connecting it to the internet by connecting it to my Linksys wireless broadband router but that doesn't do anything. I also have a wireless notebook adapter that I've also tried to use but the driver needs to be reinstalled or updated and I don't know how to do that. I've lost the installation disk that came with it also. Do I need to buy anything to make it work?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless network using an Apple Airport router. There is an iMac, an IBM Think Pad and a Dell XPS 410 tower (both running XP) on the network and all were working until this week. All of a sudden I can not get on the internet with the Dell PC. When I try to log into the router, it searches for a connection, but never is able to attain one. My network is displayed and I am using WPA security and have been entering the correct key. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, but with no success. I believe I was able to access a local unprotected site, but after being connected a pass word was required. I also tried ipconfig, but it just flashed on and then immediately off.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless network. For some reason my computer seemed to change regarding the settings, and I can't figure out what to do. Usually I can figure things out when the settings go wrong. I have a broadband connection, where it seems to want me to enter a phone number; I have a "LAN or High Speed" connection. Normally I click "Create New Connection", but it doesn't work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just moved apartments and am trying to connect to the internet. The problem is that I can see the network I need to connect to and I am putting in the correct network key but it just won't let me connect to it. There are three other computers using the wireless so it isn't the modem... and my iPhone is working on it. I am wondering if it has something to do with the IP... I do not really understand any computer stuff but I am desperate for this to be fixed because I am in the middle of mid-terms.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed my ISP to "Clear.com" and now one, seldom used, Win7 computer will not connect to the wireless network. I have two other desktops hardwired and two laptops on the wireless that work fine. The two laptops are in the same room as the Clear 'modem/router', while the Win7 box is not, if that matters. The Win7 box worked in that location when I was on the cable and had a separate wireless router. The box that will not connect, does show that the wireless connection is availableand the adapter shows to be working properly in Device Manager.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI use a Dell 2010 laptop. I have consistently been able to use wifi. On 1 Jan I moved into a new apartment shared with a friend. My friend allows me to use the wifi by sharing the password. My friend's computer is a MacBook. But I cannot access wifi! Why is that? I am able to see the available connections and to see the one that my friend is using. But I am unable to access it. I tried manually adding the new wifi network. It shows up with "limited access" -- it does not enable use of internet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm desperately trying to set up my old D-Link DI-524 on my parent's Toshiba laptop...I'm visiting and going thru withdrawals! I've installed it, run the wizard etc but it doesn't work...not even wired. I've tried various cable configurations and I get nothing. Both cables are good and work just fine connected to the modem. I've reset it a few times, upgraded the firmware and still nothing...I'd think I'd at least get it to work hard wired. My laptop can see the network I set up even...but no data transmission. I'm not a wireless expert, but I need to become one fast!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't access anything on the network. The computer is a Dell running Windows Vista Home Premium. All attempts to access the network fail (ping, local shares, http) and other machines cannot access this one. Network & Sharing Center shows a fault between the Home Network and the internet, however I am unable to Ping or be Pinged by other computers on the Home Network. Other machines on the network are working fine both wired and wireless, although the machine in question is wired only (no wireless NIC).
The following items have been attempted, some many times, in no particular order, all producing no change in symptoms (not a complete list).
Network & Sharing diagnose & repair/reset NIC card.
Cold boot.
Last known good.
Safe mode with networking support.
Disable/stop all non-essential services & applications including firewall and antivirus.
Upgrade network drivers.

I've recently reinstalled a fresh windows xp operating system onto an old laptop. I've been through some trouble getting the drivers installed, but now I've finally completed that.[URL] I cannot connect to my home's WEP secured wireless network to which I have the password. After I followed the steps detailed in the link, instead of saying "detecting network type," the loading bar says "waiting for the network..." and after about 30 seconds, it disappears and nothing happens.I can connect to my router by directly connecting it with an Ethernet cord without a problem. And I know that the laptop is capable of connecting to a wireless network. I was able to connect to a nearby neighbors unsecured wifi, however it was with a very slow connection due to the distance and weak signal. It will just not connect to my own.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have a WRT54G router since a couple of years now. Laptop (Win7 64bit), ipod, ipad, phones can connect to it without a problem, but new computer (Win7 64bit) can't. I can connect the PC via ethernet without a problem though.
I powercycled my devices, I changed broadcasting options off and then back on, changed my security mode, tried the MAC Cloning (after doing the MAC Cloning, I lost internet connectivity even through ethernet), resetted my security settings, changed SSID, I'm broadcasting through channel 11 2.462. I also tried deleting the HomeGroup
Important fact: the network is in the list of available wireless network, but Signal Strength is No Signal and I can't connect to it. My network adapter is ASUS 802.11n Wireless LAN Card, drivers are up to date. I've upgraded to the latest router firmware.

Sometimes I cannot connect to the router after my computer has been to sleep. This has occurred on different routers. I can still see the network, but am told I cannot connect when attempting to connect to it. Restarting/shut down does not solve the problem - I have to restart the router itself, and then my computer will reconnect automatically. Other computers/devices will be unaffected by this and maintain a connection the entire time. Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Network Adapter using Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
