I'm using a Sierra wireless 4g aircard for internet access, the ISP is Clearwire. Normally it works fine with no problems, but a few days ago I started getting a connectivity issue. When playing games, even games that don't use the internet connection at all, and ONLY playing games (it's fine as I type this, I'm even dling something in the background), the connection will be lost, and the thing will immediately reaquire the signal and reconnect, the whole process takes like 20 seconds. The result is it's impossible to play games, I get 10k ms lag spikes every couple minutes that last for about 30 seconds, and if I'm playing most server based games (Steam Source games) I just get disconnected outright.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago every device on my wireless network started disconnecting from the internet in unison and seemingly at random and then reconnecting. The time between these disconnects varied anywhere between almost immediately after regaining a connection and three to four hours later. As things stand I have a SpeedStream 5200 modem running into a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router. I have had no problems with internet connectivity up until this point. During each disconnect, every device remains connected to the router. I've called Bell and they claim there is no issue with the modem. To test their theory, I bypassed the router altogether, and attempted to connect through an ethernet cable, but to no avail, as the now hardwired device continued to get disconnected. These failures seem to be occurring between noon and 10 p.m. and to be honest I'm amazed that one has not cut this post short.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new PC with an "ASUS PCE-N10" PCIE network adapter. I installed the drivers and everything was secure and nice and fast.
I moved the PC into another room this morning and everything was fine for most of the day. It's stopped working properly though now for some reason.
The connection is much slower and the speed keeps yo yoing and then cutting out. The signal is slightly lower due to positioning but it's still high enough. When it disconnects I use Windows troubleshooter to fix the problem and it says "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration". It usually reconnects me then, but is still slower than it should be and it doesn't last for long.
I've tried connecting to a chosen IP but it just doesn't work. Other computers on the network are fine. Why now? What's happened?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a windows xp system with a dell wireless WLAN card. I have found that when I try to connect to certain wireless networks - most recently the BBox network through Bouygues Telecom in France - it will connect, work fine for a minute or two, and then disconnect automatically. I can reconnect by going into the WLAN Card Utility and re-entering the WEP password, but I don't know why it cuts off automatically. I also noticed the same thing happening while trying to connect to a friend's wireless in London, England (not sure what the provider was). Other computers don't seem to have the same problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since i put my PC down in my room my WiFi keeps getting disconnected. I still have 4-5 bars but no internet. Its a Wintec FileMate PCI. Its getting very frustrating! My router is a NetGear WNDR3400v2. When i use network troubleshoot it says that it fixed "no default gateway" but then it goes back out again. It goes out every 30-45 minutes for like 3-7 minutes. I set sleep-mode off. I really don't know what to do. My Ipod touch gets 2 bars and never goes out.

My Mums and Sisters Computers work fine but RECENTLY (last couple of days) my computer when using the internet has become troublesome. Whenever I load multiple web-browser pages at once or try to connect to any online game server, my internet "laggs out" and refuses to load pages and even if it does they load INCREDIBLY slow. The only way to get back into any server is to reboot my modem and let my pc reconnect to it then connect to the server, even then it still has difficulty connecting and is delayed. My ping also spikes up when I am using skype and watching youtube video's. I have done a virus scan. I know its not my wireless adapter as I used my sisters one, I have tried using an ethernet cable and still the same result. I even tried our old adsl modem and still nothing. I'm getting really frustrated and have been unable to even load facebook in the last couple of days (I need facebook! I can post more information if needed, I am computer literate so I should easily understand anything anyone comes up with.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection has been dropping constantly since the beginning of this year. I cut out for ~10 seconds then regain connection. This gets annoying especially when I'm gaming (Left 4 Dead 2, Counter-Strike, etc.). The modem lights stay on as well as my router lights. I have already called in three of my ISP's (Time Warner Cable) technicians all of whom think they have fixed the problem but haven't. I have changed my modem, router, ethernet cords; one of the technicians also changed the head of the cable wire outside at the cable box. I have also tried connecting the modem directly to my PC, but the same problem still occurs. I don't believe it's a problem with my PC because it's relatively new (~1 year) and all the other computers in the house cuts out as well.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am browsing the web, or listening to an internet radio, or even gaming, after about 30 minutes my internet will cut out. The weird thing though, is that it will come back when I close the game/browser. It seems that whatever tab or application I have running the longest nullifies my internet connection after awhile and will not turn back on until I close out of that specific application.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a PC that connects to a wireless connection. I would like to share this connection with MORE THAN ONE PC. I have read it is possible to share it with ONE other PC via a crossover cable.I would like to share this to a router so that the PCs connected to the router can use this connection. Is this possible? If so, what would I need?(Other than a crossover cable and router)Side note: I'll be sharing this connection to a wireless router - so I'm hoping to basically relay the connection that way.I know it is possible to buy extenders that extend the range of wireless connections, but this is where the restrictions come into play...-We are not able to network these computers on the wireless network, as we do not manage it and have some quite strict privileges.-The router will also be used to share a hard drive via USB.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy network on my desktop keep cutting on and off, starting 2 days ago. It's on for few secs or couple minutes, off or couple secs, then back on. I pinged my router IP "-t", I found that it will be normal for anywhere between 15 - 2 mins then cut off once("Request timed out"), then back on again. I tried to switch port on the router, it didn't work, I tried to reinstall the driver for the network apter, it didn't work. I also tried 2 different anti-virus software, including "Macfee", "Norton 360". None of them told me any virus or Trojans were detected. Now, I'm confused, I don't know how did this happened. I do think it's the internet problem, because all my other devices connecting to the same LAN works fine including wireless and LAN devices. Everything else seems fine and works.By the way, It worked today in the afternoon for about 5 hours without getting cut off, then started a gain in the evening.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOur internet connection has started disconnecting repeatedly at frequently random intervals. It would always disconnect once in a blue moon, but now its almost every minute or two.
This problem happens with EVERY electronic device in the house, (laptops, iphones, xbox) So I believe I've isolated the problem to our modem. Its a LSI-PCI-SV92PP soft modem. It has a row of green LEDs that light up for its connections. And yes, the cords are properly connected to it. The ethernet, wireless, and DSL lights are shining, but the internet light flickers, and eventually turns off for a minute or two before flickering. So its the internet connection itself thats malfunctioning. System restore had no effect either.

I have tried running the 'diaignose problems' via the windows things alot of times but nothing really works. ONCE it came out with the there may be a conflict of ip address' so i refreshed?/got a new ip address. This didnt seem to work. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Belkin Wireless N1 router and it works great with my laptops and desktop computers. But! Whenever I connect up my iPad 2, mobile phone (Nexus S) or any other mobile phone, Apple TV or PS3 - the internet works and then after about 10-15 minutes (maybe more, maybe less) the internet cuts out and I can't connect on any device. The PS3 works great when hooked up through ethernet, but wirelessly the connection doesn't last very long at all. Both my parents and brother have an android based smartphone and when at home they'd like to use our WiFi instead of their mobile data - and when it comes to online gaming on the PS3, I don't want to have to trail an ethernet cable all the way to my PS3 set-up. I have full signal strength throughout the house so range isn't an issue - I've also tried connection up whilst next to the router and the connection still cuts out. To resolve this I have to pull the power cable and re-boot the router.
I have cable broadband and the modem still indicates that I have a connection, and when the internet is cut from the modem the router shows a message saying that "No internet connection can be found". The screen still indicates that it still has an internet connection but it just isn't broadcasting it...I've altered the broadcast channels but this hasn't done anything. I can connect up to my friends Belkin ADSL Wireless router with no problems and it doesn't cut out. He has his PS3 connected wirelessly too and it's all good...

View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this may appear to have been asked before but I've scoured the Internet and can't find anything exactly applicable to the setup I'm trying to achieve. I had a sky ADSL connection in my living room that had my tv, ps3, NAS and netbook wired in. I've since changed to a sky fibre connection but this had to be installed in the master phone line which is upstairs. This obviously isn't a problem for all of the wireless devices around the house including the netbook and ps3 in the living room. The NAS and TV are still wired to the old router so can see each other with no problems. Any pc trying to connect to the NAS can just switch to the old router via wifi if desired. The only problem I have is that the TV can no longer access the Internet.
I initially tried to use ICS on the netbook (it's left on permanently) - it's wired to the old router and wirelessly connected to the new one. This appeared to be working for a while but is no longer playing ball. I've tried bridging the connections and the tv and NAS both had Internet access but it's very sporadic. Is this a reasonable setup or should I be looking for another solution? I can specify a manual ip, subnet and default gateway on the tv if necessary - I was going to point it towards the bridge's gateway but I don't know about IP?
I need to get the internet from my uncle and aunt's house to my grandma's house next door. I don't know exact feet or anything like that yet but I will get it measured off. My grandma's kids got her a laptop for Christmas but she doesn't have the internet or would be wanting to spend money on it a month since she already says she will not be able to use the computer, but I said we would just somehow get the internet from next door. I don't know off the top of my head but my aunts computer is an older Dell, early P4 computer with xp on it. It's slow but it does work so that is the computer. The router is some sort of D-link with one antenna on it and I'm pretty sure it's probably a G-router(2.4ghz) and not a N-router, but can get that info later too! They currently use Time Warner Cable Roadrunner Turbo for their internet. Both places are well built brick houses and at least 200-300 feet apart. I checked yesterday and the computer was able to pick up the signal in my grandma's house on the end that was closest to my aunts house. It was showing 2 bars but it wasn't extremely fast and that room had a bigger window in it probably allowing some of the signal in? If you moved from that point of the house though and tried to go to the other end, the signal was lost. The router in my aunt's house is one room away from the end of the house that is closest to my grandma's so it could be moved closer but I don't think that will fix the signal enough to do what I need it to do.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've recently moved into a new flat and got a new BT Home Hub with Unlimited use. Alas, I'm having problems with my laptop - an Acer Aspire 5920. I can connect to the internet with no problems, but the connection intermittently cuts out. It remains offline for about 10/15 seconds and then reconnects to my Home Hub automatically. This is particularly annoying when I'm trying to watch a video. My other flatmates have no issues like this, so I'm assuming that it's a laptop fault and nothing to do with the BT connection. I have uninstalled the Acer eNet software which comes installed on the laptop because I felt this may be clashing somehow with the Windows internet connecting program - unfortunately the problem persists.
View 2 Replies View Relatedbasically a friend of mine gave me his old dell inspiron 1300 because my other laptop died.
It was running really slowly, and still is, so I cleaned the registry, defragmented, all sorts of things, I also started to download updated drivers for the system. Since I downloaded the broadcom update my wireless has been utterly useless, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting by itself, its really annoying. I guessed it could be the laptop not liking the update so i uninstalled it, but it still has the same problem.
We have other laptops and devices connected to the wireless so it's not that. oh! by the way here are any laptop details you might need.
System: Windows XP Home edition
service pack 3
laptop details: Dell Inspiron ME051
Intel celeron M
processor - 1.60ghz
504mb RAM
We have been having a very abnormal speed issue. This one has me stumped. I am fed up and thinking maybe its an Att issue that will NEVER be resolved.Brother comes and bothers me Zach internet is slow thinking hes just being picky I tell him to reboot his computer. He says its still slow. I run a speed test from my desktop computer I get a 5.36Mbps download and .63 up. I go to his windows xp professional laptop and run a speed test he pulls .63mbps down and .32 up. This is a Dell Latitude D610 with built in wifi. My desktop just so happens to be a wired connectionI grab my laptop which happens to be the exact same model and experience the same result. So I power cycle to modem, then the Linksys ea2700 router. The speeds go back to 5.37m down and normal speed up. Then after 20 minutes its back to a CRAWL.
OK the router MUST be dead. I will kill two birds with one stone. I plug in my Modem/Router combo 2wire 2700. Speed does the same thing starts off fast then slow to a crawl. Figuring it's a laptop issue I use a Linksys wireless USB adapter AE-2500. I get the same result fast then slow. NOW the crazy thing is that its only on my wireless connections. The wireless computers use wireless G and say 54mbps so why would the internet be slow only on the wireless connection. So maybe it's an interference issue So I start up the generator and plug my modem router and laptop into it. I then shut off THE ENTIRE POWER service to my house! I get the same result fast then slow. My neighbors are far apart and I have switched wireless channels and even used the 5ghz frequency with the same results. An ATT Tech says the line is fine. They came to the house and tested everything. The only thing that has happened recently was a storm which left flooding in some parts of town. Only one time was I able to test my WIRED computer and get a download speed of .04Mbps down and .32 up
