Trying to fix a XP computer that doesn't seem to connect to the network (wired LAN) via a Realtek RT8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. I don't have the network symbol in the task bar for some reason (the two over lapping computers) and when just clicking "repair local area connection" it can't renew the IP.I've tried:- new drivers- ipconfig /renew and /release- cable check (the same cable and connection works for other pc's)- pinging the hub with 100% fail despite hub recording a ping- checking IP settings are automatic- winsock- device manager (says everything isfine)- system restore
This past weekend I went out of town and took my Windows 7 laptop with me -- since I returned home, it has been unable to connect to my wireless network. Other devices in my home connect to the network just fine, and the problem laptop has always been fine until now. My network card is an Atheros AR9285, and I'm attempting to connect to a Medialink router with WPA password protection and AES encryption. My wireless network icon in the task bar has a yellow sign with an exclamation point in it. It says "No Internet access."
I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?
Camera set up with the Beta Mac wizard connected via ethernet on Airport base. Wireless security WPA2 Personal. Using DHCP. AirPort Utility 5.5.2, OSX 10.6.6.I can see the cam with the myDlink Lite iPhone (4) App when I am in my house with my wireless network. When I am out, away from my network, the App can't connect to the cam, tells me to check my network settings. I did the wps way and added the cam in the airport base utility *Access Control* tab but still doesn't work. Checked in the cam web page settings, can't figure out what the Pre-Shared Key is and where I get it/set it up in the airport utility...
I have 2 questions about a Network hard disk(for home using).I bought a hard disk (with a network card). This hard disk is connected to my "box"I have 2 questions...Is there a way to increase the speed of writing (20 Mo/s in usb) against 1 Mo/s in network. My second question is to find a way to connect to this harddisk from another network without using VPN
I have a question about my windows systems(XP and Vista) re-connecting to my network folders when my computers restart. I have some shared network folders on my Synology DS410. And then i mapped a network drive to use those folders. But every time i restart my computer i get the message "cannot reconncet all network drives"I have to put in my username and password everytime. I choose Remember login and password. How can i fix this so it automatically connects to these on restart?
FYI... 1 computer - Windows Vista Home Premium 1 computer - Windows XP Home Both connected via wired LAN
My iSCSI drives connect just fine on restart. Just not my mapped network folders.
I have a home network and I need to connect 3 USB printers. I was searching online and I'm not sure if I needed a network switch, a USB network hub, or a multiport print server. I need all 3 PCs to be able to access any printer.
Here's what I have in mind. I'm just not sure what hardware I needed (red outline). The cheaper the better. Oh and I don't want a 24/7 PC running as a server.
Namely an Unidentified Network with no NETWORK access. Some information first, the NIC that Im using is the Realtek PCIe Family Controller, Ive updated the drivers, Ive uninstalled, Ive reinstalled. Ive basically been on the internet for the past two days trying all the solutions. Including refreshing and renewing my ip, trying a static ip (although, Im still not sure if I did this step correctly) Ive tried disabling IPV6, Ive tried adjusting my speedflux. The problem is also intermittent with seemingly no reason whatsoever, some days Ill go without internet for the entire day, then the next day Ill boot up my computer and Ill have internet again. It should be noted that when I enable WIRELESS on my laptop, Im able to connect to the network, but when I enable wired, I am not able to.
Here is the ipconfig /all for when Im connected wirelessly and have a connection.
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:Windowssystem32>ipconfig /all
[Code]....
It should be noted that I am using powerline adapters for my connection, but as I said, this problem only recently started cropping up. I went fine for almost a week with no problems, then all of a sudden it started happening. Im still able to connect wirelessly so its not too much of an issue, but I prefer via Ethernet..
My pc is windows 7ultimate and my laptop is vista ultimate. the router is connecting fine to the pc. as i try to connect to the laptop it keeps saying unidentified network and local access only. i tired different things but nothing seems to work. it will work only when there is no password on the wireless.

I'm having a problem connecting to multiple servers. I do know that I have stopped the windows firewall and taken out Norton and avg, yet I still can't connect to any servers. I've even tried on other networks! I can download torrents and surf the internet just fine though. I can't connect to an online class server to do my homework, and I've also tried to start playing WOW but neither will connect. I also don't see peer guardian 2 in *services*
I've got my network up an running and all my devices (wired computer, wireless PS3, wireless smartphone, etc..) can connect to the network except for one of my wireless computers. I've set the TCP/IP to obtain IP automatically and using the correct PPPOE username/pass I try to connect, but it never works.
Working in a small Software company. In my company we use 2mbps speed internet connection from one Internet service provider. We have 15macs(Users) in my company. All connected to that 2mbps internet.Due to slow service we had taken one more 2mbps from different internet service provider. My requirement is Using these two internet connections with different ISP and make All the computers communicate with each other. i.e., For file sharing, pinging from system under one ISP to the other.
i have more than one laptop, all my laptops connect to the wireless network with no problem except for one. i have no idea why it doesn't want to connect and i don't know what the problem is

Im trying to use a poker client on a business network with a server, for example pokerstars cant connect to its servers from my computer at work how do i configure the server to allow my poker client to connect?
I'm having trouble connecting to my home network. Whether it be wireless or wired. My computer will say that I'm connected to my network, however it says identifying network forever. Same thing with wired. I'm running windows 7...my network adapter cards are as followed : Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Network Adapter and Atheros AR8151 PCI-E gigabit ethernet controller. I've tried to update both of them, with no success. I've uninstalled both of them and reinstalled them, again, with no success.
I can connect to internet through my tablet. Also I had no problems last week it was working fine and yesterday I reset the router and it connected for awhile. I have 4 other pcs on the network and they are all working fine.
Not sure what else to try.

I want to create a home network between a desktop (W7 64 Ultimate) and a laptop (W7 64 Home Premium), wireless.Router is TP Link TL-WR941N, AP (for desktop) is TL-WA701N. From the laptop the network map shows all devices, but the desktop is not connected to the AP.
new HP 2000 computer he just purchased. I brought it to my house to set it up. No problems connecting to wifi at my home. Downloaded all the updates and got it ready for his house. When I tried connecting to his network, it kept giving me the network key. I know I was entering the correct information because we had his older computer and I copied the exact thing. I had also made a folder when I set up his other computer with his information for his network in it and I was going by that. I tried to automatically connect and I also tried to manually connect. I deleted the name of my network (that worked) and rebooted. It continually gives me the block to put the password in. I brought it back to my house and the wifi connected with no problems. His old toshiba had no problems connecting to his network. I disconnected it and reconnected it. Is there something about the settings I am not doing? Or is it a firewall setting? Is there something in the modem that is conflicting with the new HP. It's a WAP2 Personal with AES Encryption (did not work on that one), where as my network is a WPA Personal with TKIP Encryption (worked on this one). Will that make a difference and if so what do I do about it?
I'm having problems connecting to our wireless network. With my old PC in the same room in the house I've had it connected before, about a year ago. With my new computer though, I'm having issue after issue.
I switched on my laptop today and it wouldn't connect to the internet because of an 'unidentified network' problem. Last night before I went to bed it was surfing the net fine and then this morning, nothing. No one has touched the laptop overnight and it was switched off all night so I have no idea how this has happened. I'm using my internet connection via my iPhone with no problems. I've already tried several things to try and fix the problem - I've reinstalled all network adapters, have fiddled with IPv4 settings, have deleted and re-setup my network connection, and have restored Windows to a previous point. I can't connect my laptop to the router using a cable because I live in a bock of flats where lots of people share the same router and it's locked in a security box, so I'm just using a wireless connection.
recently, I have been unable to connect to my network. When I attempt to, it tells me that windows cannot connect to hsusnet(my network name)when I try to troubleshoot, it resets my network adapted and tells me to turn my modem off and on.
Well I am typing to you all from my linux box. I have a desktop that runs Windows XP SP3 and have not been able to get it to connect for months now. I use an smc2862w-g USB card to connect from it ordinarily but like I said, it hasn't connected to my home network for months. It reads and connects to my neighbors networks just fine but for some reason it is isolated to my home network. My home router/modem is an Arris model.Today while I was talking to some guys I know in IRC who work the IT field, I got it to work for all of about 10 minutes. The problem is, is that it was an intermittent sync. I noticed that when I were to change channels in my router it would follow to let's say channel 11 but the card would bounce back and forth between 11 and 10 causing intermittent sync. If I changed to channel 4 then it would bounce between that and 5. Channel 6, same thing and so on and so forth. I read somewhere that it could be a problem with conflicting chipsets between the router and card but that doesn't make much sense to me. I've been in the computer field for a few years now as a Security Specialist and tech support agent so this does not add up. [code]
In my office I have set up a NAS server which is connected to a Netgear VPN router. When I try to connect remotely I can open the VPN tunnel but when I try to access the network drive, it says the network path cannot be found.
I recently bought a router so i could have wireless internet at home. After configurig the router i tried to connect from my laptop but it couldnt. The problem is definetly with my laptop since i tried connecting with my blackberry and my ps3 and they both connected. I tried connecting to the router with an ethernet cable and i finally had internet acces but when i try to connect wirelessly my conputer will detect the network but it wont connect!
My friend had a wireless network in his house, laptops can connect to it easily. For some reason, smartphones and itouch units can not connect. When the network password is input, the symbol that shows it is connecting continues to spin as if it is trying but it never does. Is this some kind of security issue or setting?
I am becoming very irritated with my laptop. I would like to know why I can only connect to the network Linskeys, and it'll have this little yellow thing, and it'll say its connected but once i click and internet thing (like google chrome) it will say I am not connected.
i am using windows XP and i want to make my laptop spread wifi signal, well, i don't know how to describe, English is not my language, hope you don't mind, some sort of input in wire network, output is wifi, i follow the instruction: Open Start-Run- ncpa.cpl - Enter Right click LAN and Wireless network icons, click Bridge Connections. Appear Network Bridge icon in Network Connections. Right click Wireless Network icon, Properties, click Advanced. Tick "Computer to Computer..." and "Automatically...." then Close. Back to Wireless Network Connection Properties, click Add. + Network name (SSID): abc + Network Authentication: Shared + Untick "The key is provided....." +Type password (5 characters) Click tab Connection, tick "Connect when this...", Done. Open Network Connection, right click Wireless network icon, click View Available Wireless Networks So far so fine, i can see my ad hoc network, but the problem is i can not connect to it, i click that network, click Connect, type the password, then it shows the connecting window in about 4 mins and then disappear and i am back to part "Cick View Available Wireless Networks"
