Xerox ColorQube 8570 / Canon MP610 - Printing Across 2 Wireless Networks?
Feb 3, 2012
I have 2 separate broadband providers at home - one for work, one for family use. Both are ADSL lines, one with a Netgear DG834G modem router, the other with a Thomson TG585. My work PC is Windows 7, and the family have 2 Windows XP machines and a MacBook. I also have 2 printers (Xerox ColorQube 8570 for work, and Canon MP610 for family). If possible I'd like to be able to print to either printer from either network and any computer! Am I asking the impossible or can the two networks somehow be linked?

i have a new EA6500 with latest firmware that is randomly preventing connections to a Xerox ColorQube printer. The printer is hardwired to the router. I had statically assigned the IP address (as i do with all my "permanent" devices), but tech support suggested i go to DHCP assigned with a reservation, so that is how the network configuration on the printer currently stands. I have a number of wireless laptops on the network. When the connection drops or is prevented, none of the machines can access the printer. I've turned laptop firewall and antivirus off to ensure that was not the issue. When the connection drops, i can no longer ping the device and it shows unavailable in the devices and printers console of Windows 7. However, i CAN still ping the device from the diagnostics tab of the troubleshooting page on the router. In other words, the router can ALWAYS ping the device, regardless if the laptops can. This tells me the connection between router and printer is fine. It also tells me the network interface of the printer is functioning. Something is preventing communication between laptop and printer and the ONLY thing in between the two is the router. I've also tried throttling the speed back between the two. The printer is capable of 1000base-t full duplex, which is where it normally runs, but i stepped this down to 100base-t full duplex just to see if it made a difference. I've also tried turning IPv6 on/off to see if it made a difference.

We are having a problem with our Xerox 5745 multifunction Printer. This problem had been forwarded to Xerox, but they claim that a problem was caused by a power surge on our Cisco router.
We are having a total of 8 CiscoCatalyst 2960 Series in our IT Communication rooms.
We are also having 2 Xerox 7120, 4 Xerox 5745, 6 HP5200 and 300 computers - PC (HP Desktop) and Laptop (Samsung). Network : all connected to CISCO Catalyst 2960 Series Printer Setup: IP Address: Manual IP Assignment (DHCP Disabled) PC Setup: TCP/IP –RAW on Port 9100 – SNMP Status ENABLED The two machines has same firmware software and configuration settings. one machine just been installed with latest firmware
Problem: On 3 Xerox 5745 display panel shows: "Network Controller booting"
at 75% the system restart and go on again and again.
This happens when cables are connected to CISCO Catalyst 2660.
Testing done: •1. No problem, Connecting directly to laptop using (crossover cable), accesss to printing is normal.•2. No Problem, Using other switch - dLink (not CISCO Catalyst 2960), the printing is normal.•3. Not work, changing ip address; disabling all protocol; changing speed to 10MBps.•4. Not work, Switching to other port on CISCO Catalyst 2960.•5. Not work, Re-starting the Cisco Catalyst 2960 s.•6. Not work, Changing cables.

My printer is hard wired to my wireless router, allowing me to print wirelessly from my laptop. After successfully printing this way, it is no longer working. I have tried re-installing the software, however, it is unable to "find" the printer. I have tried this from 2 laptops with no success. My wireless router appears to be working as far as internet.

A friend has asked me to work with him set up a new office. He already has a PC and a phone line but not broadband, so he is going to organise that and getting a wireless router. He wants a wireless colour laser printer so that his visitors/guests can print easily from his office, or the next office. Does he really need a wireless printer to do this? Or if I plug a network printer directly into his router with an Ethernet cable, same with his PC, will that enable laptop users to print wirelessly (assuming they know the router passphrase of course)? I guess they would need to install the relevant printer driver to do this too.

I have a Samsung CLP-325W wireless printer, and I don't have the MAC address bounded to a static IP address. The printer is turned on and its wireless light is blue. However, from the view of my router, it doesn't seem to be on the network.
The printer is binded to the SSID and has worked before, but when it gets turned off it seems to forget about the network. Is there anyway that I can force the printer to print out it's current state? [IP address etc]

Have a Canon MG6120 wireless multifunction printer. I rarely print anything from my laptop, but wanted to do that today. What I get is an error message that the printer is offline -- which it isn't; it's on. I tried going thru the setup on the printer, re-entering the SSID, and it said it was connected. Still same error that it's offline.
About a month ago, I did change the name of my router, but it never cause a problem with printing from my desktop, which I can still do. It's just the laptop that gets the "offline" error. What do I need to do to make the laptop recognize that the printer is on?

I have set this "Black Friday" printer up and it shows it is transmitting wireless. However, I cannot get my PC to find it! I have tried everything I know. I am not an expert but is there something in my Verizon router that might be preventing it? I don't know what else it could be but maybe there is an expert out there that can.

I have a wireless printer on an internal wireless network. I have a laptop connected wirelessly on the same internal network. When both devices are connected to the same network I cannot connect to the printer. If I change my laptop over to the guest wireless or to a wired lan, I can see the printer. I vendor stated that within the 4402 wireless controller there is a setting to allow wifi to wifi connections on the same internal network. I am trying to figure out what that setting is called and where I might look for the setting within the wireless controller.

I currently have Canon MX870 pixma printer - it is wifi enabled. A few weeks ago it went offline and I was able to reconnect it by entering the "access point" and password in printer control panel. It has once again gone offline however the printer cannot locate the access point by searching and when entered manually returns a message that it cannot locate the access point as entered. I am having the same problem with my TV which is also wireless connected, i.e., the TV is not connected to the internet and I cannot locate the network name (access point) in the setup menu on the TV. I had also previously reconnected the TV by entering the network name manually.
I tried looking in the router - Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 but cannot figure out where this information should be located. There is a setup tab in the router administration and both the Host name and the Domain name are blank. The router admin page states that: Host Name : Enter the host name provided by your ISP. Domain Name : Enter the domain name provided by your ISP. The wireless tab states: Status: SES Inactive. Does this mean anything?

ATT Uverse modem provides internet for the house. Uverse modem also includes a wifi router. The HP C410a printer is connected wirelessly to the Uverse router. The printer is able to access the internet, and all computers (including the problem Mac) can print wirelessly when wirelessly connected to the Uverse router. The Mac sits at the opposite end of the house, far outside the range of the Uverse router. To solve this, we have a Netgear Powerline adapter connected to the Uverse router to provide internet over powerlines throughout the house. At the opposite end of the house, the Linksys E1000 is connected by ethernet to the Netgear Powerline outlet. This setup works - all computers, including the Mac, can wirelessly connect to the E1000 and there is fast internet access.
Two different PC's can print wirelessly to the HP C410a while connected to the E1000 - it works perfectly. However, the Mac can't print via the E1000 - I have to carry the Mac over to be in range of the Uverse router and then print. When you try to print on the Mac, it can't "find" the printer. However, if I open the HP print utility on the Mac and manually enter the IP address of the printer, a new printer pops up and I can make it print test pages. But I still can't print anything else from the Mac.
The Mac can print if the E1000 is bypassed with a physical ethernet connection to the Powerline outlet. So the conflict is definitely between the E1000 and the Mac, because everything else works in every other combination.I think something in the E1000 is preventing the print driver on the Mac from sending data to the printer, because the Mac can "communicate" with the printer via the HP print utility software, but whenever you try to print using the driver it can't connect to the printer. I disabled the E1000 firewall

I have followed the details here as closely as I can:URL
I've upgraded to 7.4. I've enabled IGMP snooping, increased the time out, decreased the query/hello interval, went into Controller> menu and set AP Multicast Mode to Multicast with the Bonjour multicast range of 224.0.0.251.
Went into my WLAN and enabled Multicast VLAN Feature, and enabled my Multicast Interface as the same VLAN as the WLAN range.
The Lantronix Bonjour device is on the same VLAN as the WLAN (13). Accessing the Lantronix device shows it polling printers on our wired VLAN. However, no iDevice that joins the WLAN/SSID can find these printers.

I can't seem to get my Canon MG5220 Wireless Printer to connect to my Belkin N150 wireless router. The printer sees the belkin wireless router network name but cannot connect to it( after entering the correct security key). It worked fine with a previous wireless router. My desktop PC is connected to the belkin router via direct ethernet, and I want to be able to access my wireless printer which is located in another room from my PC. I think I remember reading that the canon mg5220 may not support WPA2 security, but Its only a year old and would prefer not to regonfigure my router's security setting. how I can get this printer to connect to my router? Any other ways to access this printer from my PC which is connected to LAN via ethernet?

I am not very techincal and the instructions say to "Press and hold the WPS button on the access point (for about 5 seconds)." but have no idea what this means.
I know the laptop has the wi-fi turned on but when the printer searches it doesn't find it.

Recently i converted a customer's APs to LWAP and installed a 2504 WLC. Everything came up and is acting good, but the printer is no longer printing. It can neither be discovered using windows networking, nor bonjour. It worked until LWAPP conversion.
It is an AirPrint device, a Canon mx892. Trying to print using an IP port fails, AirPrint fails, and sharing it through the attached Mac also fails. I dont know enough about printers or AirPrint to effectively troubleshoot. The customer opened a case with Canon, who says its a network issue. I cannot get it configured on the wire, apparently setting up a printer isnt as easy as it used to be.
