View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 separate broadband providers at home - one for work, one for family use. Both are ADSL lines, one with a Netgear DG834G modem router, the other with a Thomson TG585. My work PC is Windows 7, and the family have 2 Windows XP machines and a MacBook. I also have 2 printers (Xerox ColorQube 8570 for work, and Canon MP610 for family). If possible I'd like to be able to print to either printer from either network and any computer! Am I asking the impossible or can the two networks somehow be linked?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a new EA6500 with latest firmware that is randomly preventing connections to a Xerox ColorQube printer. The printer is hardwired to the router. I had statically assigned the IP address (as i do with all my "permanent" devices), but tech support suggested i go to DHCP assigned with a reservation, so that is how the network configuration on the printer currently stands. I have a number of wireless laptops on the network. When the connection drops or is prevented, none of the machines can access the printer. I've turned laptop firewall and antivirus off to ensure that was not the issue. When the connection drops, i can no longer ping the device and it shows unavailable in the devices and printers console of Windows 7. However, i CAN still ping the device from the diagnostics tab of the troubleshooting page on the router. In other words, the router can ALWAYS ping the device, regardless if the laptops can. This tells me the connection between router and printer is fine. It also tells me the network interface of the printer is functioning. Something is preventing communication between laptop and printer and the ONLY thing in between the two is the router. I've also tried throttling the speed back between the two. The printer is capable of 1000base-t full duplex, which is where it normally runs, but i stepped this down to 100base-t full duplex just to see if it made a difference. I've also tried turning IPv6 on/off to see if it made a difference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are having a problem with our Xerox 5745 multifunction Printer. This problem had been forwarded to Xerox, but they claim that a problem was caused by a power surge on our Cisco router.
We are having a total of 8 CiscoCatalyst 2960 Series in our IT Communication rooms.
We are also having 2 Xerox 7120, 4 Xerox 5745, 6 HP5200 and 300 computers - PC (HP Desktop) and Laptop (Samsung). Network : all connected to CISCO Catalyst 2960 Series Printer Setup: IP Address: Manual IP Assignment (DHCP Disabled) PC Setup: TCP/IP –RAW on Port 9100 – SNMP Status ENABLED The two machines has same firmware software and configuration settings. one machine just been installed with latest firmware
Problem: On 3 Xerox 5745 display panel shows: "Network Controller booting"
at 75% the system restart and go on again and again.
This happens when cables are connected to CISCO Catalyst 2660.
Testing done: •1. No problem, Connecting directly to laptop using (crossover cable), accesss to printing is normal.•2. No Problem, Using other switch - dLink (not CISCO Catalyst 2960), the printing is normal.•3. Not work, changing ip address; disabling all protocol; changing speed to 10MBps.•4. Not work, Switching to other port on CISCO Catalyst 2960.•5. Not work, Re-starting the Cisco Catalyst 2960 s.•6. Not work, Changing cables.

My xbox worked, but none of my laptops. This morning I reset all the modem and the laptops. All of them connect but the internet is slow and fades in and out. My xbox tells my my NAT type is moderate. I go back on the modem's website and it says that none of my wireless devices can connect.

at the moment the connection seems stable though (the changes from above were made)
I'm having a big problem with my connectivity. I can connect to the internet (a BT Home Hub router) using my ethernet cable but not using wireless. My computer is searching and finding wireless networks, but when I try to connect to my router, it says limited access/connectivity.
I haven't used my computer in quite a long time (7 months) as it stopped working and is miraculously working again now (huzzah!) but the wireless does not, when it was perfect previously.
I have run IPCONFIG/ALL and the details are below. This is done with the ethernet cable attached.

Yesterday everything was working fine, but when I got home today I couldn't connect to my router. I tried connecting on my computer, my mac, and my netbook ALL couldn't even find the SSID. I directly connected my mac and netbook to my modem and was able to connect to the internet, so I know it's not an ISP problem. I then re-connected the WAN cord from my modem to the back of my Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614V10. All the lights come on but I still can't find the router when I tried connecting wirelessly. When I connect an Ethernet cord to a LAN port on the router, I can get connection.

I've gone through my troubleshooting and the wifi light is on, so that's not the issue. I also updated my driver (says it's working fine) and even tried to uninstall and reinstall it. I am not sure what else to do. If I try to connect via wifi though, the computer recognizes all the available networks, including my own, but just won't connect. It says a cable is unplugged (which at that time it is, because it's supposed to connect wirelessly).I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3147sb Entertainment notebook, and it uses Windows 7.

-Decided to mess with proxy settings with chrome
-Downloaded "proxyswitchy" chrome extension
-Obtained an IP and port # from hidemyass.com
-Tried to connect to internet, got message "unable to connect to proxy server"
-Decided this proxy stuff isn't worth it, deleted the proxy extension
-Reset router
-Now wireless isn't working on ANY laptop- it shows a connection available but cannot connect to it, however wired connection works (and is how I'm on here right now)Is this as simple as setting up a new wireless connection?
-went under "proxy server" under "LAN settings" in ctrl panel
-The box which stated "use a proxy for LAN" was checked, and the address and port I obtained from hidemyass were underneath
-I unchecked the box, applied the new settings, and reset my router
-Still doesn't connect wirelessly
