Cannot Connect Via Ethernet On One Device (but Not Others)
Apr 6, 2012
My laptop runs off my ethernet (running to a modem) just fine, however when I plug it into my desktop, it recognizes that there's an ethernet plugged in but it says there is no internet connection available.I am running Windows 7 and I pulled up the command prompt and gathered this info:

i'm trying to connect a picaxe microcontroller to my friend's coffee machine for a school projet. eventually i realised i had 4 options
1:get arrested by the police (long story) 2:lay out 5km of cable dorchester, dorset,uk 3:end up using a REAL pickaxe on my phone 4:pay £100 for a picaxe server 5:intergrate the ethernet into a picaxe microcontroller
the only problem is that you need a very fast processing speed for ethernet, unless you were to use <1mbs ethernet?is there a device witch will only relay packets at <1mbs Ethernet
1. I recently purchased an Asus X53-sx1159v laptop (Windows 7 64 bit os - other detals at bottom ).
2. While it has a wifi network connection (which works fine), it doesn't seem to have any listing for ethernet (ie wired) connection. (even though it has the port for wired access.)
3. When i look under computer/device manager/networks, all i get is the wifi atheros 9485 network adaptor. There is no other listing. (see attched file for screen grabs)
4. Am i missing something obvious with all this? The Asus website has examples of this model with screen grab which includes an ethernet adaptor as well (see attached file)
Note that laptop is labelled as an X53 series but in the computer it get listed as a K53e

My Ethernet is not showing up in device manager or Network Connections. I've checked the bios and it is enabled. I've also tried to install the drivers, but at the end of the install this error message pops up " the Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable"
I have windows xp with asus motherboard p5kpl-am se. my issue is that I cannot get on the net. I know there is internet connection, but the computor won't recognise that fact. when I go to repair the internet connection, I get a message ( windows cannot detect any wired or wireless cards on your machine) things I have done is to download drivers for the ethernet card and also the motherboard chipset to see if that would work, but no change. the yellow question mark is still there.
I am having vastro 460 with intel i3 and window 7 32 bit . try to install driver for network card but not working. ping is working but not showing it in device manger.
I use a hardwired Ethernet adapter to connect to the internet from home. I cannot connect to the internet on the N5110 but can connect on my desktop PC. I look at the hardware device manager and cannot find an Ethernet adapter. This leads me to believe something happened to the card. It should show up in the hardware profile. I don't want to use a wireless connection. I want to use my hardwired Ethernet adapter.
How can get the system to recognize the device? I don't need to send it in for repair. There is some work I do that can only be done on this computer.
Have a potential customer that is looking at the IE2000 series switch and at the Rockwell Allen Bradley switch
Question is does it support Device Level Ring (DLR) capability. I do not see this specifically mentioned in the Data Sheets but it talks about a Resilient Ethernet Protocol (REP) and I am wondering if this is the same thing?
My PS3,my ipod touch, and my dads ipod touch is on my wireless. and every once in a while my internet stops working on both my ipod and my ps3 after anything gets unplugged on the router but for some reason, the wireless internet still works on my dads ipod touch. everything is connected with static settings I do not know how to fix this, my dad says that it has something to do with a setting that keeps getting reset, he has fixed it before by doing something in cygwin or command prompt I think its called.Anyway, I've tried pinging my ip address on my ipod but I get no response.

I am trying to connect a device (Wiimote, hehe) to my Rocketfish Bluetooth 2.1 EDR USB Adapter. However, when I try to connect to the Wiimote, it requires me to input a passkey, and it does not have a passcode. There is no skip button, and the only option out of Skip, Next, and Cancel I can choose is Cancel. Is there a way to get around this? I've found other guides and I can't get it to work.I am on a Dell Dimension E510 running Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3.
I purchased a clear WiMAX wireless device. My iPod other computers can connect to my clear network except my laptop. Subsequently my laptop can connect to other networks including other clear devices, because I was in the clear store with laptop, except the one I purchased. It takes a long time to acquire ip address and when it does and says its connected with excellent service I open Internet browser and I get no Internet. I even went to the geek squad in bestbuy I honestly did more then they did researching internet.Ive tried flushing releasing and renewing ip. Ive tried several other things also was with a tech guy for clear for 40 min. End result he gave me microsofts number. It's a dell mini windows xp. Ivetried repairing ip address restarting device rebooting computer.
LMS 3.2.1 When I try to check Software and Device packages updates for LMS components, it fails with "Error while downloading package information from Cisco.com for the selected products. See the d:/CSCOpx/log/psu.log file for details." diagnostics.
CSCOpxlogpsu.log shows that it fails with 404 error. Looking to wireshark capture, I see that software make GET to [URL], then GET to [URL], then GET to [URL] with some params, which result in "404 Not Found" error nevermind which product (Common Services, Campus Manager, RME, DFM or others) I try to get updates on.
Have an hp pavilion a1700n with amd athlon. I switched from Vista to XP, but it's not recognizing some drivers. The network card is not detected on my pc, however the device manager says is working properly!!!??? What can I do? I need to connect to the internet in order to download the other drivers.
have a computer that connects to the internet via a wireless network connection. The router to which it connects is not physically available.I have a device that I want to connect to the internet. However, it is a wired device. The device cannot reach the wireless router that the computer connects to.Is there any way for the wired device to connect to the computer as an intermediary? The computer has a built in wired network card (as well as a USB wireless device that connects to the wifi router).
I recently upgraded my wireless router from D-Link DIR-615 to D-Link DIR-685. Before the changeover, all of my devices were connecting to the router, although I had several problems with dropped connections, etc. The devices in use were:
- Desktop computer - Laptop computer - All-in-one touchscreen computer - Netbook - iPhone (original model) - HP TouchPad tablet - Sony Blu-Ray player - Two internet radios (Aluratek and Livio) - Wii
ALL of these devices were connected wirelessly to the network. When I set up the new router, I used a different network name/SSID, but kept the same security key/password. All of the router settings were kept the same (e.g., WPA-2, etc.). After the new router was up and running, every single one of the devices listed above connected (after an initial setup with the new network name, of course) EXCEPT the All-in-one/touchscreen computer. I've tried over and over, and it refuses to accept the security key/password. (The desktop, laptop, and touchscreen are all running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.) After doing some research, I tried some suggested solutions, but nothing seems to work. Nothing on the problem computer has changed since it was last connected to the old router. I checked the "Properties" of the network device on both the Desktop (which has no problems connecting) and the Touchscreen, and they are identical: WPA-2, AES, etc. And I'm 100% positive I'm entering the security key correctly. I've rebooted the router and the computer several times.
I can't be the only one who misplaced their Router's Password - How do I manage to 'connect' my new devices (Kindle Fire and new smart phone) to my router installed less than 2 years ago.
I have just moved in to a basement apartment and can connect to the internet with my wireless but not with the ethernet cord ran downstairs for me. The other computers upstairs work fine on ethernet through the same router. I do not understand what the problem could be. here are my configs:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6002] Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Windows IP Configuration
We purchased our son a Netbook for Christmas - all of our other laptops will connect to our MiFi (Verizon) device but NOT the Netbook?? It states Excellent Strength but after attempting to connect states Failed to associate with the unit.
I have a computer running Windows Vista that has been unable to access the internet, either with wireless or cable. It just says that no connections are available.Troubleshoot doesn't detect any problems.I also realized that I cannot access device manager, nor can I add/uninstall anything. When trying to get into device manager, I get " the specified service does not exist as an installed device".

I have linksys WRT120n (just bought it) now connected with ethetnet cable i have a laptop and an 2 iphones that wont connect the network after a while, the only way that solves the problem for a while is unplugging the router from the electricity and plugging it again and then after few hours or a day the problem returns.
Client Lease Time: 1440 the devices have an IP reservation network mode - mixed ( B G N )
I can send email though my yahoo account (which is hard wired to my router) and I can access the internet through my wireless device (iPhone 3GS) but I can not send email through my wirless device. I keep getting a message stating it can't reach the smtp server.
I just upgraded my wireless router to a D-Link DIR-655. I have 2 PCs and a network storage device (D-Link DNS 321) connected via ethernet to the router. I also have an xBox 360 connected wirelessly to the router. The xBox is able to connect to the internet via the router, but it cannot connect to (see) the PC's or the network storage device. It was able to do so with my old wireless router (a Belkin), but it stopped with the DIR-655.
I've been using my 2509 router as an access server for my 3 routers, 1 frame-relay (3640) and 4 switches for the past 2 months and it work great till this morning. As soon as the async lights on when i try to connect, it just hangs. It doesn’t respond to anything. No key hits not even disconnecting the console to where im connecting too. (from router to router) if i reboot the router with out the cord plug in (the async) i can use the router with all functions working great; But as soon as i connect the async cord.
The lights blink and poof router is gone. No response. i just cant figure how from one day to the next it doesn’t work.I haven't tried a different cable yet but i tried disconnecting all console connection and just left the plug in and boot. This works but as soon as i connect to any console port physically it gone. No response?i cleared all my configes and its blank and it still just doesn’t respond as soon as i connect any thing (after configuring all the basic)
ive tried these
line 1 8 no flush-at-activation no login local no modem Dialin no exec speed 9600
I purchased 2 SG500x switches that I will stack and connect to a NAS device at 10G. I need to purchase transceivers. The documentation has me confused. I just want to make sure that I can use SFP-10G-SR to stack and as the interface to the NAS. S1/S2 for stacking and XG1/XG2 to connect to the NAS all at 10G.
I have a thinkpad t23 ( yes I know a bit old but great for work purposes) and I haven't used it in a bit, over a year or so. I connect the Ethernet cable that I use on my other laptop and desk top to it but can't access the Internet. It shows when I am connected to the LAN and says running at 100mps.
I'll make this short and simple since it's problem a really easy fix.I have a pretty old pc. I have Windows 7 and XP installed in different partitions. Windows 7 doesn't run very well so i'm just going to use XP. On windows 7 it lets me connect to my router wired but on xp it doesn't connect.
I have tried for hours when i connect my computer to the router with an ethernet cord it will not connect. the command prompt doesn't recognized ipconfig or netsh.
