Linksys Gaming Adapter Won't Connect To Internet
Jan 5, 2012I've tried so many settings I cant even remember where i left off but one general question, troubleshoot to the next step with the wga54g; sometimes the connection shows 'acquring address' but never connects. I've fiddled with things so that i can get the GA to acquire an address but the internet comes through. Also the GA never shows up on the client table. So is the fact that i can get a network address a good thing or doesn't that necessarily mean i'm 'connected' to the network. Its frustrating to have the G light lite up yet no connection also at one point I did get the GA to show up in the client table when it was directly connected to the linksys 1200 but when i walked into the room and attached it to the PC, no dice I've turned off all firewalls temporarily and the 1200 is set on wpa/wp2 mixed. when i tried setting it just to wpa i got a warning then I lost my internet. I had to reinstall the 1200 again.

Mar 20, 2012I have a Linksys WRT120N and two XP laptops.I can connect them to my network when MAC filtering is disabled but as soon as I re-enable it, the network kicks them off.I've had the network set to broadcast enable and disabled and it doesn't matter. There is NO WPA2 etc security or password on the network.I've checked, double-checked and quadruple-checked the MAC addresses of both laptops (using "ipconfig /all") and they're both right. I entered them correctly and I've quadruple-checked that I've checked "PERMIT" instead of "PREVENT". The funny thing is that I also have a Samsung Galaxy SII and that connected right to the router even WITH MAC address filtering on. It was unbothered the entire time I was enabling and disabling things. It kept streaming web radio the entire time.
One of my laptops is set to use Windows to configure my wireless networks and one uses Intel ProSet/Wireless to manage connections.Neither one can connect when MAC filtering is on... but my phone connects just fine.where someone asks this question ends up in people arguing about why MAC filtering is worthless or perfectly valid or whatever and the anti-MAC filtering person telling the asker to get some "real" security and stop wasting their time.

When we have both laptops running we can browse online okay but if one of the laptops starts downloading something or even loading a video or big web page the other laptops connection will not work it. It says its still connected and finds no problems but no pages will load. I also have problems when I download anything. If I begin downloading then on the same laptop I can not even browse the web while I'm Downloading.

Turn on the security for the wireless WPA2-PSK(AES) It has 2 SSID one for the N and the other for the G. All good all light on the modem are good. Tried to connect my Toshiba Qosmio F60 but it only sees the G wireless speed. Why wont it see and connect to the N Network?

Feb 21, 2013We recently switched from cable internet to Verizon DSL since my roommate moved out and took his equipment with him. I set up the wireless router last week and got my laptop to work on the wireless connection. Now I am unable to get my boyfriend's computer to connect to it, when it never had this issue before with the previous wireless. The first day I had it set up, it said it connected, with an "excellent" connection strength, but then the status was 'unable to connect.' I was on the phone with the Verizon guy, who after doing a screen share, said it was my IP address.
So I tried resetting my IP through the CMD, with no luck. Now it doesn't even let me connect to the wireless at all. I've tried both the Intel PROSet/Wireless and the Microsoft client to connect (this is running Windows XP) and when I click 'repair' on the Microsoft client, it tells me it couldn't be corrected because it could not renew the IP address. Jul 4, 2011At home I have a wireless access point that I use to connect my laptop #1 to the Internet. On laptop #1 IP address is set to 193.49.21.65. This IP address also Subnet Mask and other addresses are given by my Internet Service Provider. Everything works just fine but lately I bought another laptop (laptop #2) and now my aim is to connect both laptops to the Internet. Unfortunately, I can't make that happen. Only one of my laptops having IP 193.49.21.65 set can connect to the Internet.
