I got a trojan and removed most of it with Malware Bytes. My computer was still acting squirrely so I read that I needed to delete a ping file. I did and can no longer connect to the internet. It just sits and tries to acquire the IP address. I have reset my winsock and tried uninstalling and reinstalling my network drivers etc..

I can ping the netgear router from the 861, however, when I connect my PC to it, I am unable to ping let alone connect to the internet, the PC is getting an IP from the 861 and I can ping the fa4 interface from the pc. I just don't understand my I can not ping the broadband router, I even added a static route to the netgear with no luck.

So I can copy a file off the server and onto my local machine. I make my edits and then try to upload it to the server. I get locked out with the message: Error 0x80070021: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I have tried shutting down my code editor, opening and closing the connection, tried different methods of reaching the server (Cyberduck and through Window's map network feature) to no avail. I have tried what I can including setting firewall exceptions and even disabling it and nothing will change. Both the file server and desktop run Windows XP SP3 while the laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium. the file server is connected to a 5-port router which is then connected to a 10-port hub that is connected to the gateway, while the laptop and desktop are connected to a different 5-port router which is connected to the same 10-port hub. I am saying thing also because I think it is a hardware problem since the laptop/desktop can connect perfectly as they are on the same router.

NIC #2 connects to our customer's network and does not allow internet connectivity for me.When I first boot up my Windows 7 machine I get the following info in route print:Despite the fact that I have a persistent route with metric 1 to send my internet traffic to the 172 subnet, the internet requests go to the 10 subnet. I am guessing that is because the non-persistent route to the 10 subnet has a metric of 20 vs. the 21 for the 172 subnet. I delete the route 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 10.242.1.254 and I am able to connect to the internet again.HOWEVER, after something like 4-6 hours, (without rebooting) the bad route automatically reappears in my route table! I become aware of it because I suddenly have connectivity problems. There are no entries in the Windows Logs that seem to be related (i.e., no DHCP renewal requests.) so I do not know how or why it reappears.
