View 1 RepliesI've been searching the Internet all day for drivers for this Notebook and have found most of them, but need two more. I can't get online.
It's a Windows XP Professional OS but I cannot get online without an Ethernet Controller driver, which I still haven't been able to find. I also need a Multimedia Audio Controller.
It's an old notebook but has hardly been used. The specs are as follows:
Intel[R] Pentium[R] M
processor 1.73Ghz
795 MHz,0.99 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
I still have the original Windows XP Professional disk find these two drivers? I've searched every HP Compaq driver site I could find to not avail.
I downloaded on my notebook ASC because I thought it will make my PC faster, but no way.Internet crashed, wifi isn't working but I really dont know where is problem. When I connect modem to PC(not notebook) it works. When I try to run wifi again its not working,it shows that cable is not connected. What is magic for me is that why wifi is not working when I was on notebook and he is just connected wireless ? More magical its that it happened yesterday afternoon and in the night wifi was working,in the morning again not and nobody was doing anything with modem or router or even PC. I tried system recovery on notebook and on PC even....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just tried to Wi Fi connect to the internet for the first time with my Asus Eee PC 1001PX notebook (Window 7 Starter). The signal strength for the Thomson TG585 V7 router is showing as excellent. I used Windows Diagnostics to try and sort the problem out; but it says that Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found and that there is a problem with the wireless adapter or access point.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get my daughters laptop re-hooked to the wifi. Other computers and smart phones have no problems. This computer was connected but after the applesauce spill on the keyboard, and subsequent MicroCenter replacement of keyboard, we cannot get the laptop online. It is an Acer Aspire 5517 running Windows 7I have removed all profiles and created a new profile entering parameters from my laptop. I can see the wireless connection, but when I try to connect, I get "Windows was unable to connect to Greg". When I click troubleshoot, I get "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem".
View 2 Replies View Relatedtoday my Belkin 7050 wifi adapter arrived.I went through the install procedure from the cd,and when asked to plug in the adapter,I got the message asking for a notebook card, which I haven't got.It then told me that the drivers aren't installed. The device isn't showing in device manager.I called Belkin support but all the could suggest was that the device was to try it in another computer.I am unable to do this because the communal computer needs administrator rights to install programs etc.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN MiniCard and have been able to connect to all hostels wifi networks until now. There isn't anything wrong with the network itself because my iPhone and a different tablet can still connect to it.The network is in the list, full signal, but it tries to connect and sticks at 'Acquiring network address' then fails. I have tried the Repair button an it says it can't repair it because it can't give me a new IP address.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ancient Compaq V2410 notebook which has started to drop my home Wifi connection recently (started about a week ago). At first, I thought it was the install of Firefox 8 as it froze and crashed but it happens with Chrome, IE and even when not running a browser.
My ISP is O2 in the UK and I have a DSL2+ service with the O2 Wireless Box II. I have gone through a power down cycle on the router and it continues to work with my ethernet-connected desktop PC. I have changed the Wireless Card in the notebook but fault is still intermittent. The notebook was also set to OpenDNS servers but that has been set back to Automatic DNS servers.
The notebook has the latest free versions of Avast Anti-virus & Comodo Firewall and the main issue is that the notebook has 640Mb system RAM which means that various Windows services have been Disabled or set to Manual.
I can sometimes recover the Wifi signal by switching the wireless on/off but it is sporadic. I have attached the Xirrus WiFi screenshots at startup, at fault state and at recovery state together with the ipconfig.txt output.
My 655 router (RevB, Firmware 2.03) is connected from one side to a DSL modem and on the side to two wired PC's and via wi-fi to several other wireless clients (two smart phones and two notebooks). All is well until I try to connect a specific notebook. Connection is estabished for about 30sec and then the router drops ALL connections (including internet and local network!) and I must re-start him by un-plugging from power. This phenomena is specific to a specific notebook since with the other one

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just recently got a new wireless modem from Verizon. So far, the connection with that modem is far better. My HP Touchpad, my Sony Vaio laptop, and my custom built desktop are all connected to the network. Unfortunately, that is not the case for my HP Mini1000 notebook. It detects the network connection; but, it cannot connect saying that it is unable to verify the certificate. With all the other devices, all I had to do was put in the WEP key and they were connected to the network. But, the HP Mini does not give me that option. How do I get the notebook to connect to the net?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can usually figure stuff out for myself when it comes to computers, but to be honest I'm baffled. My HP 620 notebook wireless LAN has completely disappeared. I can no longer select anything to do with a wireless network, and it has also disappeared from the HP Wireless Assistant (which only has bluetooth on it - disabled by windows device manager?).
Anywho I did a quick internet search and it seems a pretty common problem with the HP series, and followed some advice they gave...
1) Did all the basic things (e.g. try and find a wireless network right click enable etc.)
2) Uninstalled/Reinstalled wireless assistant
3) Did some power off 30 second BIOS reset or something (literally have no idea what this is just followed advice)
4) I BELIEVE (note that this is way past my knowledge of computers) that I uninstalled the network adapter devices and reinstalled them on restart.
5) Finally I literally just took my laptop apart and took out, cleaned and replaced the wireless thingy
So all of this had no affect on my wireless LAN mysteriously disappearing. For those unfamiliar with the HP 620 it has a wireless on/off toggle button which is bright blue when working. Now however it is permanently orange and wireless has completely disappeared.
1. How I can connect 2 network notebook?.
2 What kind of cable do I need to do?
3 And I can access the data through each other?
Both run Win 7; both use lan conections to the same router (Linksys 310N). Both get to the internet. The desktop can see the notebook (shared folders), but the notebook cannot see the desktop. I cannot now generate a network map (I could earlier today), due to an "incompatible device".
There are also wireless connections but currently I don't use them. Both machines are on the same-named connection. Homegroup doesn't work at all on either computer.
I would really like to print from the notebook. All the printers are wired into the desktop. All are shared. Yesterday I could print from the notebook. On occasion, the homegroup shows both computers but hasn't for a while. In File Explorer, on the notebook, not even the notebook appears under the Network icon.
Why my notebook is not responding to dns error, I connected it to the ethernet lan but no response. The wifi is ok.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor over a month now my laptop has been unable to connect to the internet via a wireless connection. It will connect to the network, but that's as far as it goes. Resetting the router does nothing, and the same can be said for resetting the network wireless adapter. However connecting via the LAN cable to the Router will allow me to connect to the internet and use it normally.I've even tried deleting the wireless information for my network off the computer and re-inputting it but that didn't solve the problem either.I have an HP Pavilion g7 notebook PC that is running Windows 7. I got in it June 2012 brand new and have had nothing but problems with the wireless. It worked fantastic for the first few months and then this happened for the first time. I managed to fix it by myself that time, but I don't remember exactly what I did. It worked alright for the next few months but it was kind of spotty and temperamental. And now it's not working at all. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem but nothing has worked so far. According to the HP support Assistant my wireless adapter is called "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030"
View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday after booting my comp up I wanted to get on the internet but for the first time in years with my set up it just wouldn't connect, never done this before, we have a wireless O2 box upstairs which my son has a ethernet directly from the wireless router into his comp and my other son has a notebook (same as mine) and both of them were online but mine just wouldn't connect although I had nothing to say anything was wrong, o2 told me that if the other computers were online then it must be something on my comp that is causing the trouble ? but what could it be ? after three hours offline I rebooted and it was fine and got onto the internet no trouble, this morning it again wouldn't let me online and then bingo it just came on again at 4pm very strange to me

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a small notebook Acer, win xp, atheros wi-fi.I've had no problems getting on the internet, until,on my desktop computer, with Belkin Wi-Fi add-on, I set up security on my network. Now my Acer will not load Internet Explorer.Once I gave the network logon and passkey on the wi-fi network on this computer, the Acer tells me I have connectivity and very strong signal, but IE will not load.I connected the wi-fi router direct to the Acer and again connectivity is strong but IE will not load.I direct connected cable internet to the Acer and again connectivity is there but IE will not load.I know if I re-do the security and put no-security on the network it will probably work but I really don't want to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Notebook PC DV6815nr (knows as DV6700) which i bought 2 years ago. Initially the laptop came pre-installed with Vista. However i upgraded to Windows 7 about a year ago. Yesterday when i turned on my laptop, i noticed that my laptop could not connect to the internet. Even i could not see any available wireless connections. I turn the wireless switch on or off...does not make a difference.
So i decided to check the driver files for the internet which can be found in Device Manager...and noticed that there was a driver ( nVidia nforce networking controller ) which had an exclamation mark. First i am not sure if that driver is for wired or wireless connection??. Secondly, i went on HP Website to see if i can download drivers from their website..and they did but only for PC's with Vista on them..no Windows 7...i tried so hrad to look for these driver files.
