I've been searching the Internet all day for drivers for this Notebook and have found most of them, but need two more. I can't get online.
It's a Windows XP Professional OS but I cannot get online without an Ethernet Controller driver, which I still haven't been able to find. I also need a Multimedia Audio Controller.
It's an old notebook but has hardly been used. The specs are as follows:
Intel[R] Pentium[R] M
processor 1.73Ghz
795 MHz,0.99 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
I still have the original Windows XP Professional disk find these two drivers? I've searched every HP Compaq driver site I could find to not avail.
I have an HP Compaq nc6220 that I just got up and running after an extended stint as a paperweight. It had previously worked great in terms of connecting to the internet via wireless. Now nothing. It let's me go into Wireless Network Setup Wizard and offers to let me set up new networks, etc...But as far as I can tell, it isn't detecting any networks (though they are all around me and detected on other computers) and giving me the option to log in.There is no "Device Manager" option that I can find on this computer, which some forum posts have suggested to other people with similar problems.
Compaq C700 Notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.Currently using DSL network and switching to cable modem with Linksys E1000 wireless router. When connecting to the router, it comes up as unidentified network and public. I can customize to change to private, but does not allow to change name.If I delete my current DSL Network, on start up I get a windows defender alert of whether it is a trusted, standard or public network. Then I get another pop up asking to call it Home, Work or Public. With the cable router and wireless modem, I don't get any thing from windows defender or network and sharing center.
i got a compaq mini cq10 400sa given to me by my friend for the mean time as my laptop has stopped working. it runs on windows 7. it is not detecting any wireless network whatsoever.
I have an ancient Compaq V2410 notebook which has started to drop my home Wifi connection recently (started about a week ago). At first, I thought it was the install of Firefox 8 as it froze and crashed but it happens with Chrome, IE and even when not running a browser.
My ISP is O2 in the UK and I have a DSL2+ service with the O2 Wireless Box II. I have gone through a power down cycle on the router and it continues to work with my ethernet-connected desktop PC. I have changed the Wireless Card in the notebook but fault is still intermittent. The notebook was also set to OpenDNS servers but that has been set back to Automatic DNS servers.
The notebook has the latest free versions of Avast Anti-virus & Comodo Firewall and the main issue is that the notebook has 640Mb system RAM which means that various Windows services have been Disabled or set to Manual.
I can sometimes recover the Wifi signal by switching the wireless on/off but it is sporadic. I have attached the Xirrus WiFi screenshots at startup, at fault state and at recovery state together with the ipconfig.txt output.
so I went into device manager and deleted the 2 network adapters, rebooted and let Windows reinstall. Windows created a new Local Area Connection (LAC4, 2 and 3 are gone). It reads limited or no connectivity and is using Linksys LNE 100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter, just like the previous LAC2. The previous LAC3, which used the WAN Network Driver never got reinstalled. I don't get it.Since a Linksys adapter on a wired connection seemed bizarre I tried to find what the correct network driver should beI Googled "Compaq Presario 5400US" "ethernet driver" OR "network driver" and was taken to an HP drivers page, which This page has nothing listed for chipset or network adapters
how do i use wireless on compaq n620c. There's a wireless function button located on th F2 key, so i thought pressing fn and F2 together would turn on wireless but nothing happens.
I have the above mentioned server and I am new to servers been building my own rigs for years. New project is to get a rack going.
Things wrong that need to be fixed.
1. Installed ClearOs and Zentyal installed fine but when it goes to boot I get a black blinking cursor screen. 2.How to update the bios and harddrive firmware? 3.Im in need of a way to view this box over the network and be able to turn it off and on
I have a Compaq Armada 1598DT and I need to get the internet on the laptop but I don't know how. I am not sure how you can get a wired connection to the laptop as there is no internet cable connection.
My daughter has an old Compaq N600c with OS XP professional. When she visits me she would like to use my wireless broadband, however, her laptop does not seem to have a wireless capability. Is there any way we can install a card or something? I opened the silver multiport cover on the laptop lid and there is a green card in there, marked PCB-PC7507 TRANSFB-30D-VER 310.Alternatively, would one of those USB dongle adaptors work? If so, can you suggest what to buy?Im useless with computers.
I'm checking a mini laptop for a friend and found out that the wireless does not work on it. First I tried checking the button to activate it and it didn't work, even if the indicador says it's off/on it doesn't have an effect on the network adapter. The PC is running Windows 7 32-bit. I downloaded the Ralink 2011 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter driver and tried reinstalling it. Funny thing is that the installation went smoothly but in the driver details the name of the driver shows the default Windows one, 3.0.0.14 I beleive. Tried again to install the driver since I thought it was a bad download or something but the same results. I've tried with the Atheros driver but the installer said that since the card is not present no drivers would be installed, so I assume that the model is the Ralink. So far the network card appears disabled on the network adapter window, and if I try to enable it, it remains disabled.
I have a Compag Netbook (running Windows XP Home Edition) which will not connect to the internet, however the wireless icon in the tray is telling me that the signal strength is good and that i am connected but i cannot access any webpage. I know it is probably not the modem as we have another netbook in the house which connects no problem, as does our laptop so i'm figuring its something to do with the Compaq netbook??
I've had a look at some of the other queries regarding this on the site and note that you recommend 'ipconfig /all' results so you can gain a better understanding of what the problem might be, so here it is below
Windows IP Configuration Host Name: Compaq-38184c6a Primary DNS Suffix: Node Type: Unknown
I just recently got a new wireless modem from Verizon. So far, the connection with that modem is far better. My HP Touchpad, my Sony Vaio laptop, and my custom built desktop are all connected to the network. Unfortunately, that is not the case for my HP Mini1000 notebook. It detects the network connection; but, it cannot connect saying that it is unable to verify the certificate. With all the other devices, all I had to do was put in the WEP key and they were connected to the network. But, the HP Mini does not give me that option. How do I get the notebook to connect to the net?
I can usually figure stuff out for myself when it comes to computers, but to be honest I'm baffled. My HP 620 notebook wireless LAN has completely disappeared. I can no longer select anything to do with a wireless network, and it has also disappeared from the HP Wireless Assistant (which only has bluetooth on it - disabled by windows device manager?).
Anywho I did a quick internet search and it seems a pretty common problem with the HP series, and followed some advice they gave...
1) Did all the basic things (e.g. try and find a wireless network right click enable etc.)
2) Uninstalled/Reinstalled wireless assistant
3) Did some power off 30 second BIOS reset or something (literally have no idea what this is just followed advice)
4) I BELIEVE (note that this is way past my knowledge of computers) that I uninstalled the network adapter devices and reinstalled them on restart.
5) Finally I literally just took my laptop apart and took out, cleaned and replaced the wireless thingy
So all of this had no affect on my wireless LAN mysteriously disappearing. For those unfamiliar with the HP 620 it has a wireless on/off toggle button which is bright blue when working. Now however it is permanently orange and wireless has completely disappeared.
I downloaded on my notebook ASC because I thought it will make my PC faster, but no way.Internet crashed, wifi isn't working but I really dont know where is problem. When I connect modem to PC(not notebook) it works. When I try to run wifi again its not working,it shows that cable is not connected. What is magic for me is that why wifi is not working when I was on notebook and he is just connected wireless ? More magical its that it happened yesterday afternoon and in the night wifi was working,in the morning again not and nobody was doing anything with modem or router or even PC. I tried system recovery on notebook and on PC even....
I bought today a hp 650. So i installed windows 7 on it but i have a problem. I cant use a wifi on laptop. I installed a lan card but the wireless drivers are not working and i dont know why. I downloaded all drivers from HP 650 Notebook PC- Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center.
Both run Win 7; both use lan conections to the same router (Linksys 310N). Both get to the internet. The desktop can see the notebook (shared folders), but the notebook cannot see the desktop. I cannot now generate a network map (I could earlier today), due to an "incompatible device".
There are also wireless connections but currently I don't use them. Both machines are on the same-named connection. Homegroup doesn't work at all on either computer.
I would really like to print from the notebook. All the printers are wired into the desktop. All are shared. Yesterday I could print from the notebook. On occasion, the homegroup shows both computers but hasn't for a while. In File Explorer, on the notebook, not even the notebook appears under the Network icon.
