I connected to the wifi with no problems on my iphone, but when I try to connect from my PC is says the security key is invalid. Apr 14, 2013I set up a DIR-655 router for a friend 4 years ago and it's worked reliably with all of their equipment since. They have wireless printers, iMacs, pc laptops and iPhone 4S's, all connecting without any problems. Recently, they got an iPhone5 and it will not connect to their home wireless automatically, they have to re-enter the password each time. They've tested their iPhone 5 on other networks and they do not have to re-enter the password. Apple and ATT are blaming the router. I do not live near them and I'm going to have to facilitate them remotely. At this point, I believe their router is configured with WPA2, but I can't be sure. Which configuration will work with the iPhone 5, as well as their other, older, devices that have worked for 4 years

Apr 29, 2012We're in the process of implementing an ISE 1.1 server for Guest Wireless Access / BYOD at our company and ran into an issue with authenticating from iPhones / iPads when the account is set with 'change password on next logon' (it's a local account created on the ISE server - not AD). It fails and displays 'unable to join network' on the iPhone. The ISE log shows a '5411: No response received in 120 seconds'. We're able to authenticate from Windows devices and are prompted to change the password during the authentication process. If we unchecked the 'change password' box we can authenticate from iPhones & iPads without any issue but we need to have a way for users to set their own password.

Iphone Connected To Laptop Through Wifi Hotspot But No Internet
Jan 17, 2013I just bought a laptop installed with Windows 8. I want to connect my iPhone to the Internet through the laptop. I have tried using Connectify to set up a WiFi hotspot. It works only with WEP and my iPhone can connect to the Internet but my iPhone disconnects from the hotspot after a while and I need to restart my Connectify hotspot, which is really annoying.I googled online and find that I can use the netsh command to set up the hotspot. I run command prompt in administrator mode and type in the following:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=adhocnetwork key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
And then I share the wired network through control panel > network connections > ethernet > properties.I connect my iPhone to the hosted network and typed in the password. I see a tick next to the SSID, meaning it can connect to the hosted network.I also check the status of the hosted network. Both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity show Internet.But when I open Safari on my iPhone, it says no Internet.

This morning my internet was unreliable, and dropping every minute or so. Trying to trouble shoot, I switched the router off then on again. Now I have no wireless signal between my laptop and router. The router doesn't seem to be recognising the security password. I have not changed the password - this is still the original password for the router. Other devices are still talking wirelessly to the router.
Unable To Connect To Netgear Router With Iphone Through Wifi
Jun 20, 2011I just successfully setup my wireless Netgear router to work with my laptop and desktop. I now want to get my iPhone to connect to it as a WiFi connection. It sees the available network after I enable WiFi, but when it tries to connect, it just says "unable to connect" or something after I input the password.
My current password shows in the Netgear router (through 192.168.1.1) in the "passphrase" field under Wireless Settings, and it's cp6s-n3rb-ziav. This is what I put in the password field for my particular network in the iPhone before it tells me it can't connect.
There is an option on the left column in the router for "Set password," but it's just to change it to something else. If my iPhone won't accept the current one, I don't see why it would accept a new one, and then I'd have to go and change it in the laptop, too. Without knowing if that's the issue, I'm holding off on that for right now.
