Router Password Working On IPhone But Not PC?
Nov 29, 2011
I am in the process of moving in my new house and the landlord set up a Belkin router and gave us the password. I connected to the wifi with no problems on my iphone, but when I try to connect from my PC is says the security key is invalid. I hooked up directly to the router, went to the IP and tried logging in with the password to no avail. I don't get what the problem is? The password works fine from my phone, but not from the computer.

I set up a DIR-655 router for a friend 4 years ago and it's worked reliably with all of their equipment since. They have wireless printers, iMacs, pc laptops and iPhone 4S's, all connecting without any problems. Recently, they got an iPhone5 and it will not connect to their home wireless automatically, they have to re-enter the password each time. They've tested their iPhone 5 on other networks and they do not have to re-enter the password. Apple and ATT are blaming the router. I do not live near them and I'm going to have to facilitate them remotely. At this point, I believe their router is configured with WPA2, but I can't be sure. Which configuration will work with the iPhone 5, as well as their other, older, devices that have worked for 4 years

We're in the process of implementing an ISE 1.1 server for Guest Wireless Access / BYOD at our company and ran into an issue with authenticating from iPhones / iPads when the account is set with 'change password on next logon' (it's a local account created on the ISE server - not AD). It fails and displays 'unable to join network' on the iPhone. The ISE log shows a '5411: No response received in 120 seconds'. We're able to authenticate from Windows devices and are prompted to change the password during the authentication process. If we unchecked the 'change password' box we can authenticate from iPhones & iPads without any issue but we need to have a way for users to set their own password.

I have a Netgear N300 wireless router. My laptop is Sonay Viao, running Windows 7.
This morning my internet was unreliable, and dropping every minute or so. Trying to trouble shoot, I switched the router off then on again. Now I have no wireless signal between my laptop and router. The router doesn't seem to be recognising the security password. I have not changed the password - this is still the original password for the router. Other devices are still talking wirelessly to the router.

I have a Lynksys WRT54G wireless router. It works just fine until I try to put a password on it. I go through the basic steps, it talkes all my information and tells me everything is good. I try to sign on the internet and it tells me my password is invalid....and YES Im sure its the right password I entered. I went to http://192.168.1.1/wireless.htm and did all the necessary instructions, and still, it doesn't work. I can change my network name and it works. As long as I leave it unprotected, everything works fine, but when I add the password, it tells me its invalid. I even used 123456 so as to make sure it was the right one.

I have a Linksys WRT320N wireless router at my salon with an Ethernet connection to my POS terminal, and wireless access for my notebook. When it was originally set up (by a technical person), I used a password that is my own personal (private) password. Since then, when my clients have asked to use the wireless network, I have had to enter my password into their device since I can't tell them what it is.
Today I decided to resolve the issue, so I changed the password to something simple. But, now the password only seems to work for me and not anyone else.
I don't understand why this is happening, when my previous password worked fine on other devices.
I hesitate to keep messing with it since I am not a very technical person. For example, just changing the password today and resetting the router, etc, was a challenge and I about had a heart attack when my POS terminal wasn't responding (luckily I got some assistance from my Internet provider, even though its not their router).
I do not have Cisco Connect installed on my Notebook at work (did not have a CD drive at the time). I do have a CD drive now and can install Cisco Connect if necessary. (Again, a bit of concern that I will screw something up in the process and not have POS access.)

I used Cisco connect to set up guest access with a secure password. Cisco Connect now indicates guess access is allowed and shows the password. However, when I actually try to connect to the guest network, it shows no security at all, and I can join the network without a password.

I have a CANYON Wireless N Router CNP-WF514N1A. It was working properly, but I changed its deafult password to my own . (192.168.0.1 -> wireless security -> new pass -> okay -> reboot computer ). After I restarted the computer, the router stopped working. The lights on it are fine, and if I plug the net cable into the computer I have internet too. The problem is, if I plug the cable into the router, I don't have internet. And I can't open 192.168.0.1 either.

I have a 4404 running firmware 7.0 and something happened (don't think it was a hack), but all of a sudden I can't login to the box via web or ssh or even telnet.
In trying the recovery procedure, I get a lot of messages scrolling through and cannot do the Restore-Password command on the CLI.
I'm attaching the whole capture, but here's a truncated capture from the procedure:
*fp_main_task: Nov 21 10:39:46.501: sshpmGetCID: comparing to row 0, CA cert >bsnOldDefaultCaCert<
*fp_main_task: Nov 21 10:39:46.501: sshpmGetCID: comparing to row 1, CA cert >bsnDefaultRootCaCert<
[Code].....
So as you can see, my prompt to enter the command is taken up by this fp_main message and it uses up the first and only time I can enter this in. I'm trying everything I can to not have to go back to factory defaults.

I've a router for my iPhone which I cannot seem to get it working properly. This is an old router i bought 3 years back.I'm able to get my iPhone to find the SSID of my router, get connected, but the speed is really slow... It works flawlessly when I first start up my router, after awhile, its so slow, i need to switch to my 3G.I'm wondering it could be the setting issues. Any appropriate settings like the channels, long/short Preamble, transmission rate, basic rate, 4xs mode?

I have configured under Administration password policies about password lenght, items to be putted as number, letters and so on.on the second tab is the password expire for users and I configured to expire after 90 days.
I even tried creating a new user and changing a password from an existing user using Apache TOMCAT WAR,I have checked CLOCK of ACS appliance and setted up NTP on our internal NTP servers
even I create a new user or I change the password via Admin GUI or I change the user password via Apache TOMCAT WAR, I have the user being disabled in a few of minutes, half an hour.,As last, with CISCO AnyConnect is possible to warn the user about the password being expireing and if so, the change could be driven via AnyConnect or is absolutely needed a User Hand Task on the Apache TOMCAT portal I setted up with the ACS WAR application?

After being away for a week, I return home to find my laptop unable to connect to the Internet. It seems the router has been reset (as the router name has returned to its original). My laptop can recognise the router, it shows 5 bars signal strength but will not connect. I know the password is correct as my iPhone can connect. I am not too knowledgeable about these thingsI have tried deleting all saved networks and re-booting. I had no problem connecting a week ago.

I owned a dir-600 for 3 months now. for the first 2 months the router has been working perfectly fine. Meaning: my iphone and other devices can connect to wifi with no problem. Just under a month ago, the dir-600 started acting up. I done everything, from resetting router to even calling my dsl provider to check if the problem was with my provider. I also tried connecting my iphone to other wifi and it was able to connect without hassles.
I am not computer-savvy and I've googled everything but nothing seemed to fix the problem. I have attached the traffic statistics of the router. Obviously there is something wrong.

I use a tethered iPhone to access the Internet. We live outside of the DSL service area so this is really the only high speed internet connection I have available.Unfortunately the "wireless hotspot" feature of the phone isn't very consistent. I can get all of my computers to connect to my phone this way, but the connection is constantly dropping, and I'm always having to reboot the phone to get the computers to pick it up again. The most reliable way to use the tethering is to just plug the phone in to whichever computer I happen to be using. This does create a problem, though. If I want to print to the network computer or access a file off of one of the other computers I have to manually connect to the wireless router, because that's the only way the computers can talk to each other. In the meantime, though, I can't use the internet because my computer thinks it needs to try to connect to the internet through the wireless router, and when it can't find the internet that way it just tells me there's no connection. Nevermind that my phone is still plugged in, for some reason it doesn't want to use that connection if it can see the router.

We were unable to login to a 3825 with a known good password, so we used Cisco's Password Recovery Procedure for that device. We were successful in resetting the password, and had access to the CLI. However, when we logged out of the router, then attempted to log back in, the 'Invalid Password' prompt again came up.We have to use password recovery each and every time we need to access the CLI. Might this be an NVRAM problem?
Show version for this device is: C3825-advsecurityk9-m 12.4(3a).

I have a weird issue. I recently setup an ASA 5510 and had SSH working. To make it easier on my VPN users I then decided I wanted to setup a Windows 2008 Network Policy Server for RADIUS authentication. Ever since I added the RADIUS part to aaa authentication, when I use SSH to connect to the ASA it will not take the local user name and password I have setup. I can however get in using a Domain user name and password. Below is the SSH and AAA configuration. Am I missing something here? The username and password in the ASA is not on the domain and it's like the ASA is not even trying LOCAL when it tries to authenticate. I want it to use the local username and password if possible. I'm kind of new to ASA's..
On another note, I have never been able to SSH in on the internal interface. I always get a "The remote system refused the connection" error message. I can only use the outside interface.
Site-ASA# sh run | in ssh
aaa authentication ssh console SERVER_RADIUS LOCAL
ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outside
ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 inside
ssh timeout 60
[code]....

I just successfully setup my wireless Netgear router to work with my laptop and desktop. I now want to get my iPhone to connect to it as a WiFi connection. It sees the available network after I enable WiFi, but when it tries to connect, it just says "unable to connect" or something after I input the password.
My current password shows in the Netgear router (through 192.168.1.1) in the "passphrase" field under Wireless Settings, and it's cp6s-n3rb-ziav. This is what I put in the password field for my particular network in the iPhone before it tells me it can't connect.
There is an option on the left column in the router for "Set password," but it's just to change it to something else. If my iPhone won't accept the current one, I don't see why it would accept a new one, and then I'd have to go and change it in the laptop, too. Without knowing if that's the issue, I'm holding off on that for right now.
