Apr 24, 2011I have a Lynksys WRT54G wireless router. It works just fine until I try to put a password on it. I go through the basic steps, it talkes all my information and tells me everything is good. I try to sign on the internet and it tells me my password is invalid....and YES Im sure its the right password I entered. I went to http://192.168.1.1/wireless.htm and did all the necessary instructions, and still, it doesn't work. I can change my network name and it works. As long as I leave it unprotected, everything works fine, but when I add the password, it tells me its invalid. I even used 123456 so as to make sure it was the right one.

Jul 20, 2011I have a Linksys WRT320N wireless router at my salon with an Ethernet connection to my POS terminal, and wireless access for my notebook. When it was originally set up (by a technical person), I used a password that is my own personal (private) password. Since then, when my clients have asked to use the wireless network, I have had to enter my password into their device since I can't tell them what it is.
Today I decided to resolve the issue, so I changed the password to something simple. But, now the password only seems to work for me and not anyone else.
I don't understand why this is happening, when my previous password worked fine on other devices.
I hesitate to keep messing with it since I am not a very technical person. For example, just changing the password today and resetting the router, etc, was a challenge and I about had a heart attack when my POS terminal wasn't responding (luckily I got some assistance from my Internet provider, even though its not their router).
I do not have Cisco Connect installed on my Notebook at work (did not have a CD drive at the time). I do have a CD drive now and can install Cisco Connect if necessary. (Again, a bit of concern that I will screw something up in the process and not have POS access.)

Apr 10, 2011I have been trying for days to get a HP Photosmart Plus B209a wireless printer to work with my D-Link DIR-655.Going through the HP setup cd for I get to the section where it wants to hookup a usb cable to get router settings and finds my network and then I put in the password. Then after looking for a bit it says it can't find the printer.Looking at the wireless status page it says the ip address is 0.0.0.0.Reading on HP's website it says that you must have the router set to broadcast the SSID, I believe mine is set to hide. How would I go about changing it to broadcast AND would it mess up all my other settings changing it to Broadcast, meaning will I have to reconfigure the other computers again? Do I use the set up wizard to edit things or is that for first time set up ?

Dec 23, 2012I recently bought a practically brand new HP LJ P1006 with an extra brand new HP brand toner cartridge for $1 at a local auction. I have tested it, and it works perfectly, so all is fine there. I would like to know if it is possible to print wirelessly to it at all. I do not have it hooked up to a computer right now, we only have two laptops, so there is not a desktop to have it hooked up to in order to put it on a home network (I believe that is how that works).
I do have a Netgear N300 router with a USB port however, and I was thinking I may be able to do something there.
Is it possible to hook this printer into my router via USB and then be able to print to it from our latptops? If so, how would we go about setting that up to do so?

This Linksys E1200 belonged to my neighbor, but he recently passed away, and left me all his computer devices.In the Wall phone jack, I have a DSL noise filter as part as a two female plug,

2) to my phone handset. The way I usually plug this in BEFORE this router was this: The green DSL plug from Modem - into phone jack DSL Filter, and the Yellow ETHERNET cord from Router to the back of Computer. I powered on computer, plugged in all cords, except for E1200 power cord, disabled antivirus/security software, I then inserted the Cisco Connect CD and waited , and waited, but it said I was not connected to the Internet. ERROR CODE# 82BD0304. I'm using win7 64 Pro. before i called ATT, I wanted to know if there is an easier way to conect the right cords to the right plugs.

In trying the recovery procedure, I get a lot of messages scrolling through and cannot do the Restore-Password command on the CLI.

Oct 30, 2011We were unable to login to a 3825 with a known good password, so we used Cisco's Password Recovery Procedure for that device. We were successful in resetting the password, and had access to the CLI. However, when we logged out of the router, then attempted to log back in, the 'Invalid Password' prompt again came up.We have to use password recovery each and every time we need to access the CLI. Might this be an NVRAM problem?

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ASA 5510 / SSH Local Database Username And Password Not Working?
Feb 28, 2012I have a weird issue. I recently setup an ASA 5510 and had SSH working. To make it easier on my VPN users I then decided I wanted to setup a Windows 2008 Network Policy Server for RADIUS authentication. Ever since I added the RADIUS part to aaa authentication, when I use SSH to connect to the ASA it will not take the local user name and password I have setup. I can however get in using a Domain user name and password. Below is the SSH and AAA configuration. Am I missing something here? The username and password in the ASA is not on the domain and it's like the ASA is not even trying LOCAL when it tries to authenticate. I want it to use the local username and password if possible. I'm kind of new to ASA's..
On another note, I have never been able to SSH in on the internal interface. I always get a "The remote system refused the connection" error message. I can only use the outside interface.

Aug 14, 2011There is a way to block access to a website by password protecting it through my linksys router, which is one of thoe wrt54gs. I know I can completely block access of a website and can restrict the viewing hours of facebook at certain times through the router admin IP site but was wondering if it was possible to make it so you have to use a password to view said certain site. If there isn't is there any way maybe through a program or do I have to go through my ISP to see if they can do what I am asking for.
