View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lynksys WRT54G wireless router. It works just fine until I try to put a password on it. I go through the basic steps, it talkes all my information and tells me everything is good. I try to sign on the internet and it tells me my password is invalid....and YES Im sure its the right password I entered. I went to http://192.168.1.1/wireless.htm and did all the necessary instructions, and still, it doesn't work. I can change my network name and it works. As long as I leave it unprotected, everything works fine, but when I add the password, it tells me its invalid. I even used 123456 so as to make sure it was the right one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT320N wireless router at my salon with an Ethernet connection to my POS terminal, and wireless access for my notebook. When it was originally set up (by a technical person), I used a password that is my own personal (private) password. Since then, when my clients have asked to use the wireless network, I have had to enter my password into their device since I can't tell them what it is.
Today I decided to resolve the issue, so I changed the password to something simple. But, now the password only seems to work for me and not anyone else.
I don't understand why this is happening, when my previous password worked fine on other devices.
I hesitate to keep messing with it since I am not a very technical person. For example, just changing the password today and resetting the router, etc, was a challenge and I about had a heart attack when my POS terminal wasn't responding (luckily I got some assistance from my Internet provider, even though its not their router).
I do not have Cisco Connect installed on my Notebook at work (did not have a CD drive at the time). I do have a CD drive now and can install Cisco Connect if necessary. (Again, a bit of concern that I will screw something up in the process and not have POS access.)
I used Cisco connect to set up guest access with a secure password. Cisco Connect now indicates guess access is allowed and shows the password. However, when I actually try to connect to the guest network, it shows no security at all, and I can join the network without a password.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying for days to get a HP Photosmart Plus B209a wireless printer to work with my D-Link DIR-655.Going through the HP setup cd for I get to the section where it wants to hookup a usb cable to get router settings and finds my network and then I put in the password. Then after looking for a bit it says it can't find the printer.Looking at the wireless status page it says the ip address is 0.0.0.0.Reading on HP's website it says that you must have the router set to broadcast the SSID, I believe mine is set to hide. How would I go about changing it to broadcast AND would it mess up all my other settings changing it to Broadcast, meaning will I have to reconfigure the other computers again? Do I use the set up wizard to edit things or is that for first time set up ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a CANYON Wireless N Router CNP-WF514N1A. It was working properly, but I changed its deafult password to my own . (192.168.0.1 -> wireless security -> new pass -> okay -> reboot computer ). After I restarted the computer, the router stopped working. The lights on it are fine, and if I plug the net cable into the computer I have internet too. The problem is, if I plug the cable into the router, I don't have internet. And I can't open 192.168.0.1 either.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a practically brand new HP LJ P1006 with an extra brand new HP brand toner cartridge for $1 at a local auction. I have tested it, and it works perfectly, so all is fine there. I would like to know if it is possible to print wirelessly to it at all. I do not have it hooked up to a computer right now, we only have two laptops, so there is not a desktop to have it hooked up to in order to put it on a home network (I believe that is how that works).
I do have a Netgear N300 router with a USB port however, and I was thinking I may be able to do something there.
Is it possible to hook this printer into my router via USB and then be able to print to it from our latptops? If so, how would we go about setting that up to do so?
I have meny concerns but one is intel Centrino Wireless 2230 2X2 bgn + Bluetooth a not so reliable wirless hookup?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of moving in my new house and the landlord set up a Belkin router and gave us the password. I connected to the wifi with no problems on my iphone, but when I try to connect from my PC is says the security key is invalid. I hooked up directly to the router, went to the IP and tried logging in with the password to no avail. I don't get what the problem is? The password works fine from my phone, but not from the computer.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a home network with a wired BEFSR41 that, for a variety of reasons, MUST be manually IP configured (DHCP off). All computers and other devices connected to it are manually IP configured. I desire to add a device that cannot be manually configured, and needs DHCP. I therefore need to daisy-chain two routers with the second one DHCP on (and manual IP connection to the main network). The new device needs two-way internet access, but doesn't care if it sees any other current network devices. I've tried several configurations, none seem to work.

I also have a Cisco Aironet AP1242AG that is doing the same thing.

This Linksys E1200 belonged to my neighbor, but he recently passed away, and left me all his computer devices. In the Wall phone jack, I have a DSL noise filter as part as a two female plug,
1) for the Green DSL on Modem, and the other
2) to my phone handset. The way I usually plug this in BEFORE this router was this: The green DSL plug from Modem - into phone jack DSL Filter, and the Yellow ETHERNET cord from Router to the back of Computer. I powered on computer, plugged in all cords, except for E1200 power cord, disabled antivirus/security software, I then inserted the Cisco Connect CD and waited , and waited, but it said I was not connected to the Internet. ERROR CODE# 82BD0304. I'm using win7 64 Pro. before i called ATT, I wanted to know if there is an easier way to conect the right cords to the right plugs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 4404 running firmware 7.0 and something happened (don't think it was a hack), but all of a sudden I can't login to the box via web or ssh or even telnet.
In trying the recovery procedure, I get a lot of messages scrolling through and cannot do the Restore-Password command on the CLI.
I'm attaching the whole capture, but here's a truncated capture from the procedure:
*fp_main_task: Nov 21 10:39:46.501: sshpmGetCID: comparing to row 0, CA cert >bsnOldDefaultCaCert<
*fp_main_task: Nov 21 10:39:46.501: sshpmGetCID: comparing to row 1, CA cert >bsnDefaultRootCaCert<
[Code].....
So as you can see, my prompt to enter the command is taken up by this fp_main message and it uses up the first and only time I can enter this in. I'm trying everything I can to not have to go back to factory defaults.
I have a problem with an ASA5510 (8.0.4) firewall in South Africa (I'm in the UK).It's a replacement firewall that I am trying to configure remotely through a serial device with an internet facing connection, but the enable password is not working.I can connect to the device OK, type 'en' and when propted for the password whatever I use (blank, cisco, Cisco etc.) I get an 'invalid password' message.

I even tried creating a new user and changing a password from an existing user using Apache TOMCAT WAR,I have checked CLOCK of ACS appliance and setted up NTP on our internal NTP servers
even I create a new user or I change the password via Admin GUI or I change the user password via Apache TOMCAT WAR, I have the user being disabled in a few of minutes, half an hour.,As last, with CISCO AnyConnect is possible to warn the user about the password being expireing and if so, the change could be driven via AnyConnect or is absolutely needed a User Hand Task on the Apache TOMCAT portal I setted up with the ACS WAR application?
We were unable to login to a 3825 with a known good password, so we used Cisco's Password Recovery Procedure for that device. We were successful in resetting the password, and had access to the CLI. However, when we logged out of the router, then attempted to log back in, the 'Invalid Password' prompt again came up.We have to use password recovery each and every time we need to access the CLI. Might this be an NVRAM problem?
Show version for this device is: C3825-advsecurityk9-m 12.4(3a).
I have a weird issue. I recently setup an ASA 5510 and had SSH working. To make it easier on my VPN users I then decided I wanted to setup a Windows 2008 Network Policy Server for RADIUS authentication. Ever since I added the RADIUS part to aaa authentication, when I use SSH to connect to the ASA it will not take the local user name and password I have setup. I can however get in using a Domain user name and password. Below is the SSH and AAA configuration. Am I missing something here? The username and password in the ASA is not on the domain and it's like the ASA is not even trying LOCAL when it tries to authenticate. I want it to use the local username and password if possible. I'm kind of new to ASA's..
On another note, I have never been able to SSH in on the internal interface. I always get a "The remote system refused the connection" error message. I can only use the outside interface.
Site-ASA# sh run | in ssh
aaa authentication ssh console SERVER_RADIUS LOCAL
ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outside
ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 inside
ssh timeout 60

There is a way to block access to a website by password protecting it through my linksys router, which is one of thoe wrt54gs. I know I can completely block access of a website and can restrict the viewing hours of facebook at certain times through the router admin IP site but was wondering if it was possible to make it so you have to use a password to view said certain site. If there isn't is there any way maybe through a program or do I have to go through my ISP to see if they can do what I am asking for.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an e2000 wireless router. I have the latest software version for the Cisco software.I have noticed that Cisco sets up the same password to access the router setup page as the wireless password..Anyone that connects to the main SSID will be able to connect to the setup page at 192.168.1.1...I know that I can change the password in the linksys setup page to whatever I want, but then when I open the Cisco software, it wants me to change the password to match what the administrator password is.Don't they realize that a wireless password is different than the Administrator password to access the router settings?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried multiple times to hard reset my Wireless G WRT54G ver.2 router, but have had no success. I held the reset for 15 sec, 30 sec, 2 min, etc and also tried holding it and then unplugging it and then plugging it back in. I've tried everything that I have seen suggested. My problem is that I don't know what the password is to access my router's web utility thing and I need to change the IP address. With every reset attempt, I hope that the default admin password will work, but sadly no.
