View 3 Replies View RelatedPeriodically, I drop internet everywhere around my college's campus. I'm literally four feet from a router, but it doesn't seem to matter. I'll disconnect, run troubleshooter, and I'll get the error message saying that the default gateway is not available. My college is designed for Macs, but I'm running Windows 7. My Mac colleagues do not experience problems. The computer works at home and at nearly every other wireless network I've brought it in range of. Specifically, either IBM or Dell.

I recently got a new laptop and ever since, the internet goes in and out. Most of the time it is not out long enough to display the no connectivity icon or stop music from streaming but it is noticeable. When I run the troubleshooter it says that the default gateway is unavailable. I tried manually setting the connection information but the same thing keeps happening except the troubleshooter then says that DHCP is not enabled. I've disabled every firewall I can find and updated all the drivers available. Here is my info:[CODE]

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a clean install of Window 7 64 bit Home on PC my printer is installed on. (It was previously running XP Pro) Printer drivers have been updated. I want to share Printer with Notebook running Windows 8 64 bit Home. When I added PC to Homegroup it accepted files but the printer was not listed even though I checked to add printer. Printer shows up under Network and can be seen on Notebook but can't be opened. Was getting a 0x8007035 error and now just get "window couldn't connect to the printer, check name, turned on, correct address" can't figure it out, even added ip addresses to let firewall except even though. I can see and open all files, and folders on both machines from both Homegroup and Network.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Asus DSL N13 router and one of the points that made me purchase it was the ability to plug a printer in via USB and all users on the network could share this printer. I double checked that my printer (Cannon IP4300) was compatible and its on the list here [URL]. I've set up the router and this work fine, both my desktop (running windows 7 64 bit) and my laptop (running vista 32 bit) can access the router and connect to the internet fine, both via ethernet cable and over wireless connection.
However I've been banging my head against a wall with regards to sharing the printer. I can connect the printer to the router and in the router configuration there is a tab for the printer server and this see's my printer (Cannon IP4300). However when i try to add a new printer on either my desktop or laptop i cannot see the printer, whatever i try!
I currently have two networks, Network A and Network B.Network A has a default gateway of 10.1.10.1 with two computers on it. I also have a router connected to Network A and this router creates Network B.Network B's router has an IP address of 10.1.10.18 with a default gateway of 192.168.1.1. Also on network B i have two computers and two printers. One printer is connected directly to the 192.168.1.1 router and the other printer is connected to one of the computers via usb.

How can you do the same with your home wireless printer?
We've got two computers in the Homegroup on our network -- call them computers A and B. Computer A (info below) is running Windows 7 Professional, Computer B is running Windows 7 Home Premium. Computer A has an ethernet cable to the router, Computer B is connecting via WiFi.
The problem is: Computer A can access files and the printer on Computer B, but Computer B cannot access Computer A. When I'm on B and attempt to add A's printer, I get a message that:
"file and print sharing device A is online but isn't responding to connection attempts"
In the HomeGroup window on A, all sharing options (pictures, documents, music, printers, videos) are checked.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am having issues playing certain games on my ps3. So I've been searching for solutions and I came across a video that wanted me to go to run/cmd/ipconfig. I have little knowledge of computers but I'm not sure that what my ipconfig is showing is supposed to be there. At first I googled and learned about ipv6 addresses because i found that weird but i think that checks out fine. I then googled about the weird numbers and letters in my default gateway and came up empty. Is there a reason thats there?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically, I'm using a broadband modem, which appears to be connecting fine, with all the required lights being on. My ISP says that, from their end, everything is perfect. Even my laptop shows Local Area Network as connected. However, for some reason, I am not able to access the internet. I was able to use it till last evening, but suddenly the internet stopped working. On Google Chrome, it says that there is no DNS or something.Subsequently, when I tried to access my modem settings, it shows as 'webpage not available'. I then noticed that there is no default gateway! I was able to access it the day before, but now I can't.

The workstation is not under our security for virus control, etc so I don't want it in the server. But it needs access to internet and access to printer. Should I create a separate subnet from the router and keep the workstation separate there? If so, then how can I keep the printer accessible to both subnets?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get rid of 2 old 2651xm's and 2 2950's from my CCNA days and want to get into the ASA realm. Can I be able to use the ASA, not only as a security appliance / firewall, but also be able to write the access lists, etc, to be able to use this as my router to push packets to and from my internal LAN to the outside world? I guess I should have stated as this being the front end device to my network, just after my DSL Cable modem, that is..and being the only device. I am trying to have this as my main router /firewall solution and then I have an old Linksys router I will pipe off one of the L2 ports to have an AP for my wireless devices? Is this a real solution an ASA can provide?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI rdp into our server 2008 via IP. This is a router on ip 0.1, this is forwarded to my server on IP 0.3. This server was setup with DHCP default gateway of 0.1. We added a new outside connection on IP 0.2. I was talked through the changes so that internal DHCP requests went to gateway IP 0.2 but RDP still used 0.1. I plan on getting rid of 0.1.Where is the setting to change the RDP to use default gateway of 0.2?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to connect to the internet all day. Every time it connects, but only with limited connectivity. I run troubleshooting, but it doesn't fix the problem. Sometimes it won't have anything to report back other times it says that the default gateway is unavailable. My laptop is the only device in our home that won't connect, so I don't think it's the router.I think the router is a cisco router, there is a cisco box mounted on the ceiling with a cord leading into it (I don't have access to any buttons though)I live in an apartment building with free internet, so I'm not sure who the provider is.
