I have one new cisco 2921 router but after first login into the new router . I have made some configuration but forget to change the default password . Now i am unable to login into the router after first log off but iam not able to recover password because the router don't have any external flash memory.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried the steps mentioned in the links below:

the other similar resolutions on the cisco/other website but none of them works for the Cisco 4506 switch I have.
1. Reboot
2. Press the "CTRL + C" button on the laptop to put the router into ROMMON mode.Result: Works fine and gets into the ROMMON 1 mode.
3. confreg 0x2142Result: This one does not work. confreg=0x2142 and that command is accepted by the switch but it does not tell us that we have to restart to make the changes. Now it goes ROMMON 2 mode.
4. resetResult: I type reset and the switches seems to be power cycled but it again goes to the password prompt which I dont know and this is the password that I am trying to recover or break.
Just got a new(secondhand) laptop & have successfully connected it to the internet via my wireless router/modem, but can't get it onto my home network. It appears to work, says it's connected but shows no other computers & they don't show this one.The laptop is an Acer Travelmate 2428, running Win7 Professional. My 2 wirelessly networked PCs are running on WinXP & the printer is connected physically to one of those. The router/modem is an Edimax. In XP it talks about 'home networks' whereas Win7 has 'homegroups'. I've used the wizard to 'manually connect to a wireless network' which is how I networked the PCs. I've also tried all other options in the 'Network & Sharing Centre' including the troubleshooter which when 'troubleshooting network problems' only tells me my clock is not right. In the network & sharing centre under 'view your active networks it says 'home network' & next to homegroup says 'joined'.

My network includes *8 port unmanageble switch and a ASA 5510 firewall. There are two internet lease line from two different ISP which are end on switch. Through switch it goes to firewall. This network was working fine. Now we hired a new Internet connection from another ISP. When i tried to connect this 3rd line to my switch , all network goes down.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have not worked with ASDM in a while. I have a 5510, with asdm-645.bin in the flash. The device runs version 8.4(2). I can download ASDM from the http interface of the firewall from the management interface. But I can not log in. I have used blank username and password, no username and enable password, blank username with enable password and a few other permutations. I then tried to connect to the asdm interface from inside also. But I can not connect. Needless to say, I have enabled http, and updated the http access-list. The only logging I have enabled is buffered. Is there any configuration that I am missing? Shall I cut and past the config?

I am using the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.06.0160 - and am having an issue connecting to my ASA 5510 via VPN. This issue is happening on 1 of our laptops. All other laptops connect just fine. So the problem is not in the ASA. I have double checked the client setup and config and it too is correct. The interesting thing is, we are connecting to an IP Address and not a host name.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have had a successful site to site vpn working for several months now. It is an ASA 5510 at HQ to a ASA 5505 at a branch office in another state. We just added a second site to site vpn in another state this time from HQ to a Sonicwall TZ100. After plugging in the Sonicwall to the Qwest modem in bridge mode the tunnel came right up. I was unable to to ping any off the private IPs at HQ from the new branch, but was able to use remote desktop into the servers and workstations at HQ. Also all the computers show up when browsing the network from the new branch.
At the first branch we are able to ping both ways and use remote desktop both ways. When using packet tracer in ASDM on the HQ ASA and pinging from one of the IPs in the HQ protected network to an IP in the new branch network NAT-EXEMPT looks good, but when it hits the first NAT it matches on the "dynamic translation to pool 10 (10.1.255.254) [Interface PAT]" (which is the default route for all the vlans to get to the Internet.)The next NAT (subtype - host-limits) looks better and this one going to the IP address of the outside interface of the HQ ASA 5510, but then the third NAT (Subtype - rpf-check) reverts back to the "10 (10.1.255.254) Interface PAT]" and the packet is DROPPED. Also there is no VPN step in Packet Tracer after NAT.[code]
Is the problem possibly due to the fact that my 2 new ACLs for "encrypt_acl-30" fall after "access-list global_mpc extended permit tcp any any" in the config and it is running into the implicit deny all?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy client has had to replace their ASA 5510. Upon importing the image to the brand new ASA they are unable to write to the flash.
They have run fcsk disk0: to no avail. show file system show 0 and 0 for Flash size and Free space on disk0.
Is there anything that can be done, short of formating flash and trying to reinstall the image? I have asked them to reload the ASA but they are reluctant to do so as they don't want the site to lose connectivity.
Having an issue with the ipsec client being unable to add routes in Windows 7 while connecting to an asa 5510 running 8.3(2). i have an issue with ASA 5510.
I connect to the device - https:/interface
I see the options such as download launcher etc.
But.. whenever I click on this I get stuck
Internet Explorer gives "page not found"
Or at the foot of the page it says "unable to download statup_lr"
Firefox says cannot connect
It is running 6.2.5.53
I can connect if I go to a PC where I have already downloaded the ASDM launcher (from many years ago)
Tried Win 2003, 2008 and Vista, and Windows 7
Tried downgrading to Java 6 r 7. Can I download the launcher from the Cisco website rather than the device? If so where?
We have two ASA5510s, each with outside interfaces to the same two ISPs (different IP addresses within the same subnet, of course). Both ASAs allow ICMP on all (inside and outside) interfaces. One ASA's default route is to ISP-1 and the other is to ISP-2. We can ping the default gateways for both ISPs from only one ASA. From the other ASA, we can only ping the default gateway for the default route but not the other. The pings originate from an inside client, first configured with the default gateway for ASA-1, then for ASA-2. Why does this happen, how do I troubleshoot something like this and how do I fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis problem applies (in my case) to our ASA5510. The issue here is that the http service on the ASA is runnnig off of the standard port 80. Login to the firewall and run the following.no http server enable http server enable 8080,Now you should be able to add a NAT/PAT on port 443 to another server of your liking. Just remember when you attempt to use ASDM to manage the ASA in the future to specify the new port 8080.

I have an ASA 5510 running v8.4(3)9 and have setup a remote user VPN using the Cisco VPN client v5.0.07.0410 which is working appart from the fact that I cannot access resources on a secondary subnet. The setup is as follows:
-ASA inside interface on 192.168.10.240
-VPN clients on 192.168.254.x
I can access reources on the 192.168.10 subnet but not any other subnets internally, I need to specifically allow access to the 192.168.20 subnet,[code]
I'm replacing our current router with an ASA 5510 running 8.4(3) and I'm having what I think are NAT issues. From the 192.168.0.0/24 subnet, I'm able to reach the outside world (via NAT/PAT) without any issues. However none of the internal subnets (e.g. 192.168.10.0/24) are able to. Packet-tracer shows no ACL issues.
Here's my config:
ASA Version 8.4(3)

enable password asdf encrypted

I am tasked with transferring all clients from one subnet to the other. I figure the nicest way to do this is to temporarily have the subnets talk to each other in an endeavour to avoid as much downtime as possible. The two internal subnets are:
192.168.0.0/24
192.168.43.0/24 (the intended migration network)
I am beating my head against the desk here as I dont seem to be getting anywhere after the changes I have made. The current configuration is as such:

enable password ***** encrypted

From (inside we are not able to hit any of our sites that are on the (outside). I have nat policies in place to translate the public to private, but I think I that I need some thing more. This seems to be occuring mainly with our external web sites as well as another animoly with regards to FTP (but it may be fixed if the http issue is resolved.)
I was hoping some with a lot more knowledge on ASA firewalls than my self can spot the error in my run-cfgs.
