I cannot get internet access to my laptop. I DSL and wireless. It is showing that I am connected,but it says "No Internet access". I ran a diagnostic, and it told me the problem is- default gateway is not available.

I also have a desktop and another laptop in my house and both of them are working and connecting fine. I am not sure what is going on. It finds the connection and says it is connected but then nothing will come up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased a brand new Acer Aspire 5250-BZ669 that included Windows 7 just two days ago. Everything is working fine on it except for it randomly looses connection to the internet. I have an established network that I have been using for years. The signal strength is always 5 bars and excellent. I also have a compaq connected to the same network, and it never looses connection. However my Acer will randomly drop connection. I have no idea why. Sometimes it will connect again in minutes or sometimes hours. I am using a Linksys G Wireless Router(Model # WRT54G2), Atheros AR5B125 Wireless Network Driver, and a Atheros AR8152 Controller. I have enabled and disabled in addition to uninstalling and installing the driver and controller many times. I have also moved the router and adapter all over the house. I have downloaded the newest versions of every driver from the Acer website. I have googled for hours looking for the answer to no avail. I run the troubleshoot and the answer it gives me is to make sure all the connections to the router is secure, which it is or else my other laptop wouldn't work.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I start my laptop, an Acer 7715Z, it will try to connect to the internet, but often fails.I then try it a few times manually. But the first 5 minutes I can try as often as I like but it will give a 'problem' popup, offering me a windows troubleshooter (which doesn't find the problem).I just have to try manually over and over again until it finally connects.Then my problems are over and I can internet without loosing connection. This doesn't only happen at home, but also when I'm at relatives. So my modem or ISP is not the problem. Also, my other equipment works just fine (mac, iphone, ipod, netbook).I've updated the Broadcom 802.11n adapter driver, run a virus/malware check, etc. but nothing works.The wireless lan adapter I assume basically works ok as it doesn't loose connection once I get online? Is there another setting I could check or optimise? I find it so strange. It's like the first 20-30 times trying to manually connect something is blocking it and once I get through I'm online without problems or losing connection. As I mentioned earlier, my other equipment go online almost immediately. Is there some windows setting that could block my manual attempts for a few times before letting me in? Could the broadcom adapter be faulty after all, even when after connecting it stays connected and problem free? Any control panel or other setting I could check first before sending it to be checked/repaired?

Recently we have set up internet in our student accommodation flat and for some strange reason the internet speed seems to be incredible low when I am connected using wireless. I am trying to download some stuff and the download speed drops below 10kb/s. The internet speed is very temperamental as it can be fine for a minute and then it will suddenly drop really low. If I disconnect from and reconnect to the network the speed will be high again then it will drop really low again. If I am connected via an ethernet cable the speed is fine and does not drop at all.My ISP is Orange, and I am using an Acer 8930G laptop. Some of my flat mates are experiencing this as well but some aren't. I was wondering whether or not it could just be a laptop thing or a router thing. The speed can drop that low that I can not even browse web pages.

For some stupid reason my laptop will not connect to wireless networks, now at first I just thought "boo the wireless is probably ******" but that is not the case because the internet works perfectly fine with other laptops. I've tired my school's wifi, along with my home's and the library's (I'm using a library computer right now).
It keeps saying that my home network is an "unidentified network" and subsequently I cannot connect to the internet. It's very frustrating because I have restored the system and it still won't work.

I can connect to the internet with no problems, but the connection intermittently cuts out. It remains offline for about 10/15 seconds and then reconnects to my Home Hub automatically. This is particularly annoying when I'm trying to watch a video.My other flatmates have no issues like this, so I'm assuming that it's a laptop fault and nothing to do with the BT connection. I have uninstalled the Acer eNet software which comes installed on the laptop because I felt this may be clashing somehow with the Windows internet connecting program - unfortunately the problem persists.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used Acer Aspire One 10.1 netbook and I am having some issues. When I got it the pc needed 17 windows updates done. So I did that but I am not sure all the updates worked properly as the machine shut down but never rebooted after finishing updates. After I turned it back on I tried to connect to the internet through my wireless router (which is working fine for other devices), nothing. So I tried a wired connection, nothing again. The wireless is finding my router it is just not hooking up to the internet. I tried ipconfig/all in the cmd prompt and all it shows is that the media is disconnected??? Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? The compute seems to be functioning fine except for the internet.

The other computers in the house aren't having a problem getting on the web. This has happened once before, but I can't remember exactly how I fixed it at that time, naturally. The blinking light on the right side of the keyboard that indicates the network adaptor and modem are working isn't blinking today. It is a solid light. I have tried rebooting, shutting down for a while, etc., with no luck.
