Oct 9, 2012I have two core switches - 4506E, and i noticed there are frequent cpu spikes on both of the cores switches. As its spikes intermitendly i couldnt able to anlyze the issue. I need inputs on the following,
1) Is there any Free CPU process monitoring tools to identify which process is spiking ?
2) Troubleshooting techniques to identify the issue.

Apr 20, 2011Everyday 04:00 AM, I set repeatly configuration sync. But, Since 04/16/11 04:00:00, Background tsak is not working. So, I was wcs stop -> start (04/18/11 08:30) this situation is randomly occurrenced. I found similar symptom, bug CSCtf23192. This bug fixed 6.0.202. But, I used 7.0.164. I want to know that this bug occurence 7.x and fix in 7.0.172.

Dec 30, 2010I got a quad core i5 750 and pci-e intel pro CT.It seems when I leave a game running in a window (is an old game, final fantasy 7) although the cpu is nowhere near full load in fact barely quarter load I am getting jitter on my lan traffic. Took me a while to diagnose as I didnt think that would be cause. It happens whether hardware offload is on or off on the card. This also didnt happen with the same network card in my core2duo machine, so even tho that had less power it didnt have a problem with this usage.
Is this a possibility of a saturated DMI channel on the P55 chipset, sending data for the game at same time as nic data? or probably something else?

Jan 25, 2013I just configured a 2 computers into a routers and and connected them to each other. My computer is them connected to one of the routers(configured PCs). The computer uses the default gateway of the router interface it is connected to. A ping to the default gateway repplies positively. A ping to the second interface to the same router goes successful but a ping to the first interface of the second router gives the "request time out" respond and a ping to the second interface of the second router gives the "destination host unreachable" respond.

Oct 30, 2011I had a wireless network set up between my Dell D630 and a Del XPS M1210 with IS and worked fine. Then we sold the XPS and got a E4300. I set up a wireless network on it with IS and it also worked fine. Both laptops running XP. The E4300 has SP3 and the D630 was set up with SP2 but I upgraded to SP3. The network was difficult to connect at times so I had to bypass the firewall to connect. Once connected, IS worked fineHowever, latetly it refused wireless connection even though the connection was visible. I have now tried to set up a new wireless between the 2 but it doesn't even show when I refresh the wireless connections in range.

Dec 13, 2011I have been working on this for a week now and I ended up with ForceBindIP and ProxyCap but I still cant get things work the way I want them to. I'm also aware of the ROUTE command but I'm not absolutely sure how it works, I have tried it but I didnt manage to change the packet routes properly. I want to be able to bind certain processes/programs to certain Network Interface Cards/Adapters. I have 2 and both are connected to different networks.
The problems with those 2 programs are following ForceBindIP: doesnt work on stuff that launches 2 or more processes, or the process I want to route to the said NIC is launched after the main(bound) process. ProxyCap: No option to route processes to local networking interface. I need something median of these two, a way to bind several processes to NIC.
Why do I want/have to do this? - I'm streaming online games, and I cant stream good quality with just one connection as both are only OK for one thing. How to bind process afterwards with forcebindIP, use proxycap to route packets to local network interface

Dec 22, 2011I'm having an issue with LMS 4.1 soft appliance. After weeks of use the following error is displayed on inventory/monitor dashboard:

Probable Cause: ANIDbEngine process may be down
I have verified status of processes and is the following:
ANIDbEngine Program started - No mgt msgs received
I'm able to run UT acquisition manually, also generate UT report for example. The only error I'm able to find but not sure if it connected with described syptom is when I run self-test:

I have manually checked nslookup from console and shell, server gets correct responses. Also things that are normally very sensitive to correct domain name setting (Topology plugin for example) work without any issues. Is there a way to find out more about ANIDbEngine status? I would also like to understand what is preventing network.pl test from succeeding.

May 16, 2011that big network has DHCP server which give ip addresses to clients and manage their internet.in one of this companies because of security matters they set up a domain network for themselves .problem is this if they use main DHCP their systems get ip in form of 172.16.58.x and boot up slowly it takes about 3 min to network indicator appears near clock and also they get into problem when ever they want to add a shared printer.but if they get ip address from DHCP and set that ip address and subnet mast and gateway manually the same as main DHCP server and only change dns server to theirs DC controller ip address every thing will work properly .but problem is they must set their ip addresses automatically.that is DHCP ip address sample

Dec 27, 2010We have a Cisco 886 configured with two WAN's (ATM0 connected to a DSL line and Fa3 connected to a CMTS modem).We're running DMVPN over the Cable network and GetVPN over the DSL line. When the DSL line is down we see a lot of CPU peaks up to 90%.The CPU peaks are caused by the process "DSL state machine". As soon as the DSL line has sync and the ATM0 interface goes UP the CPU peaks disappear. What we'd like to know is if this constant extra CPU load will have an impact on other resources like normal routing & switching or more specific IPSEC handling. Is it for example possible that establishing an IPSEC tunnel will fail because of the CPU peaks?

I am working on implementing ACS appliances. All working ok, until I try to add an attribute to the Shell profile (priv-lvl = 15). When I do this, the runtime process shutsdown (on both primary and secondary devices) and no further device authentications can be made. May 17, 2011I have in my router 2801, one link with 20 MB WAN Connection, and it is presenting high cpu utilization with 97% Interrupt Errors when start one download.
I exchanged it to another router the 2811 and it presented the same results. I read the cisco document about Router Performance.
And it speaks about the 2801 supports 46 Mbps using CEF/Fast Switching and 1.5Mbps using only Process Switching, and 2811 supports 61.44 CEF and 1.5Mbps Process Switching.
I need to know if the NAT Process is process switching or CEF Switching. Because if it was process switching the router is working in the max capacity and i will need to exchange the hardware to a better hardware.
