View 1 RepliesI have a Studio 1555 64bit running on Windows 7, within the past few weeks, my wireless connection sporadically turns off, the wireless router is ok, I can connect wifi to my phone. My computer does not recognize any wireless networks, although there are several in the neighborhood. Sometimes it randomly comes on.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Wireless-N PCI adapter (WMP600N) and followed the instructions given by the CD. I installed the card into an empty slot and ran the CD to install the drivers, but error message 221 keep appearing to tell me that the computer can't see the adapter.
My computer runs on Win 7, 32-bit so I have downloaded the latest drivers for Win 7 from your website. Now I want to manually update my adapter to the Win 7-driver, but I don't know how. The adapter won't even show up in the device manager.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just did a clean format on my acer aspire 5100 laptop, everything went flawlessly until the last driver - the network driver. I installed the Atheros WLAN wifi driver and it installed fine. However, it showed a bubble in the task bar saying "Wireless networks detected, click here to connect" so i clicked the bubble and the network connection tab popped up, but it says "No wireless networks were found in range". I don't know what to do, it is recognizing there are networks in range, and then telling me there aren't and none pop up in the list.
The network adapter is: Atheros AR5005G and it is working properly
Edit: I can connect using ethernet, it's just not showing any routers in the network list to connect to
The main computer received a virus and I had to reinstall the operating system. When I did, however, all settings disappeared. The lights on the modem and router are fine, and the secondary computer has full access to the Internet. I also can use my Wii with the Internet. I tried setting up the router again but the main computer won't load the web-based configuration utility page. The secondary computer, however, can. I tried plugging the modem directly into the computer but the computer didn't seem to recognize it either. I bought a new router, thinking if I got software it would automatically set everything. However, the router I received came with zero software. I plugged it in and the computer still couldn't connect to the config page. I am at a loss as what else to do here.
My old router is a Motorola WR850G and my new one is a Netgear WR614 v9. Either would be fine to use, as long as I can get both computers to connect. The host computer has XP and the secondary Vista.
I recently moved my computer upstairs to my room, so I have no connection to the internet at the moment. It can't seem to find any of the wireless networks I create, nothing shows up.

I have done a system restore already and that did nothing. I have no experience with computers. I cannot call tech support cause I am in a foreign country and don't know the language. View 8 Replies View RelatedI had a wireless network set up between my Dell D630 and a Del XPS M1210 with IS and worked fine. Then we sold the XPS and got a E4300. I set up a wireless network on it with IS and it also worked fine. Both laptops running XP. The E4300 has SP3 and the D630 was set up with SP2 but I upgraded to SP3. The network was difficult to connect at times so I had to bypass the firewall to connect. Once connected, IS worked fineHowever, latetly it refused wireless connection even though the connection was visible. I have now tried to set up a new wireless between the 2 but it doesn't even show when I refresh the wireless connections in range.

Every time I try my computer says there is no ethernet cable connected but I know it is. Unfortunately, my computer (WIN XP) won't recognise the device when using a direct connection though my talk talk supplied D-LINK wireless router. I have contacted WD and talktalk and gone through all the diagnostic processes but it still won't recognise the device. I have been able to connect this device through an older D-LINK router (still wireless) on the same talk talk ISP with no problems so I can't understand why it won't connect here. The WD device reports no problems but I can't access it, even when all firewall and AV programs are disabled.

My wireless LAN card is capable of picking up both frequencies, but will not even recognize the 5.0ghz connection, only the 2.4 one. The computer uses the default gateway of the router interface it is connected to. A ping to the default gateway repplies positively. A ping to the second interface to the same router goes successful but a ping to the first interface of the second router gives the "request time out" respond and a ping to the second interface of the second router gives the "destination host unreachable" respond.

I went to re-connect and it told me there were no wireless networks in the area at all. I know there are at least 15 in our area my laptop picks up. It was not dropped or shaken in any way, so it is not a hardware problem, I don't think. Hardlining it failed; it said it was connected to "unknown network" and could not connect to the internet.
