My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite, and two days ago it was connecting to the wireless internet just fine. Then it spontaneously disconnected. I went to re-connect and it told me there were no wireless networks in the area at all. I know there are at least 15 in our area my laptop picks up. It was not dropped or shaken in any way, so it is not a hardware problem, I don't think. Hardlining it failed; it said it was connected to "unknown network" and could not connect to the internet.
My XPS M1330 was working fine until today. While using the computer, it disconnected from my home wireless network. Windows Device Manager tells me the device is working normally. The WiFi switch is on but the WiFi catcher doesn't find any networks. I can connect to my home network with an Ethernet cable and my desktop, which is on the same network, can connect so i know its not my modem or router.
I recently moved my computer upstairs to my room, so I have no connection to the internet at the moment. It can't seem to find any of the wireless networks I create, nothing shows up.
We just got our router fixed and everything was working fine till after. Everyone elses computers and my iPod connect just fine. I have done a system restore already and that did nothing. I have no experience with computers. I cannot call tech support cause I am in a foreign country and don't know the language. What else can I try doing to make this work?
n someone pleI have a compaq 2000 with a built in wireless button. I could find and connect to my network 2 days ago but now my computer will not find any networks. I have been poking around trying to figure out what is wrong and im scared if i continue im going to really mess up my computer. At first it told me that i needed to fix the wzc service so i found and fixed that so that windows could configure my connection
I have an HP Pavilion running Windows 7 that was working fine for about a year on a wireless router at home. I have 2 laptops and a Mac that are all running fine and can recognize the wireless signal but for some reason, the desktop PC suddenly won't recognize the wireless. I have tried a system restore, no good. I have tried to load a different Intel wireless network adapter and downloaded a driver from the laptop I have that is connected, but still no dice. I thought it was a radio hardware switch that accidently got turned off, but I can't find anything on the keyboard or tower that looks like it would turn it back on. Running out of leads.
Using netgear wnr2000 for home network. All fine until one day no access for one computer. Router appears unable to assign ip address. Even if address is assigned no connection to Internet is made. Was working well previously and all other computers on network still have access.
A couple days ago my gateway nv53 running windows 7 suddenly shut down not too long after a virus was found, upon restarting the Internet is no longer connecting and saying it is connected with "limited access". My iPhone, Xbox, and other devices in my apartment still function normally and only my computer is not connecting.
A few days ago my desktop was working flawlessly, then yesterday it became really slow and evensually disconnected every 5 minutes. Now today, it wont even connect to any network. Sometimes it doesnt even show networks, but my laptop is still working? What the heck has happened? Im running win7, the wireless card is Ralink RT61 Turbo and I have a BT home hub.
My computer suddenly doesnt recognize my router.it recognizes othrer routers, and my other PC's are recognizing the router.the router is located very close to the PC, and no other electronic devices located near by.
I am having a weird problem with one of my network PC's. I admin a small network which I inherited at work but am a novice when its comes to networking hardware. One of the PC's suddenly stopped connecting to the internet on Fri night, as the cables have all been run through the roof I went through every cable on the D-Link 10/100 ethernet switch and could not get it to connect. Connection wizard showed it was sending packets whenever I tried to ping but recieved 0.
my computer wont load some videos on the internet. youtube works fine though, also a majority of the time, my internet doesnt even load the page and just sits there with a blank screen making out it loads. and on facebook, the chatbox barely appears let alone even show me whos online. i have tried deleting all the temorary internet files, cookies, history, form data, passwords and inprivate filtering. i also tryed freeing up space and i deleted about 12gb of crap i didnt need[CODE]
The problem i am experiencing is that on my home network i have been using for several years now one computer on my network suddenly cannot get online..however it can connect. They determined that all is working well and all settings are as they should be. I then contacted my ISP, Cox communications and was essentially told the same thing. This is after going through several tests with each, such as ping tests, turning the gateway off/on, reviewing settings such as TCP/IP, DNS, etc, etc. The findings were that i have IP addresses and everything else that should be there. Ive turned off the firewall, disabled antivirus, reset tcp/ip stack and winsock. I have been working on this for two days and after paying for it still do not have it fixed. The computer acts as it normally does, no other problems except that when i press the IE icon to open a browser window it tries to go to my homepage, google, but then reverts to the "page cannot be displayed screen". This computer is running XP SP2 and is a wired connection(although it was wireless when i first experienced the problem because i have a network adapter installed as well..but i disabled it and enabled my LAC and used the ethernet cable because this is one of the exercises cisco ahd me perform to see if i could connect wired/wirelessly.. better bandwidth anyway at 100mbps compared to the 56mbps with the wireless-g adapter). The othe computer is a laptop running windows 7.
Suddenly the video function on my computer stopped working. I've restored my system to the way it was prior to this loss, but it didn't resolve the problem.
computer suddenly would not acquire internet wired or wireless while at university. Local techies tried to fix but no luck. I'm trying to fix this but nothing has worked yet. Seems to be a problem aquiring an ip address. I've matched all the settings from my other dell laptop which connects no problem.
I cannot see any wireless network on the list of wireless networks. My Laptop is Acer Travelmate 4502 on Windows XP. I ran ipconfig in command prompt. [code]
I just recently installed windows vista on my toshiba laptop model L3O5D. Every thing went smoothly and before you know it I was up and running, with one major problem, I can't find any networks to connect to to access the Internet.
Suddenly, for some reason, my two Lenovo laptops last week (one is Windows XP and one is Windows 7) couldn't find any wireless networks. When I click on "View Wireless Networks" all that comes up is the Iban computer to computer network.I know the wireless network router is working as I can connect to it with my non 3G iPad. I also took both computers to work and couldn't connect to an open wireless router there.
I have a laptop that won't find any networks, it did work a few days ago now it's just randomly stopped.Things I've tried;
-Changing the wireless to different channels. -System restore to a few days before. -Check and restarted the wzc serice mutiple times. -Check the drivers are ok.
Recently, I have found out that my laptop is unable to find any networks. I started using what I believe to be an ethernet cable to connect my laptop to the internet because it was faster than wireless. But when I removed the cable and try to connect wirelessly, the computer states that there are no wireless networks in range. I know the wireless adapter is broadcasting because my sister can connect wirelessly to the internet. My WiFi is on, but I can't find any networks.
How do i find my networks password that I have lost. When I try to sign in on my Iphone it ask for a password that I don't remember. I am using a apple wireless computer. I had this password put on there so no one could break into my system but now I can't get in with my i phone or if i have visters they can't use their computer because I don't remember password.
It's fine if I use a ethernet cable though. Updated drivers. Someone said resetting "Winsock", believe I did so. Says media disconnected, but in device manager nothing is wrong and is "working properly"[CODE]
Basically, I turn my laptop on it all loads but when it gets to finding netwoks in the quick link bar the network icon is crossed out, when I hover over it it says "Not connected - No connections are avalible".
It' has done this before and I simply used a Netgear wireless USB adapter to connect to the internet. The problem fixed itself in a few weeks. It's started over again and I was told by a friend to format my harddrive which I did. It's still happening.
When I go to troubleshoot my connections it says Ethernet cable is unplugged. I have another laptop (exactly same as mine), and two desktop computers which all run Windows 7 and can find the network.
I messed with some startup programs on msconfig and made sure I didn't disableanything that I didn't know much about, then it told me to restart my computerAfter restarting my laptop I couldn't find any networks at all, there are usually, around 20, and my sound didn't work. After that I tried to enable all of the ones I disabled before, but I am still getting the same problem.
My internet has been working fine until a few minutes ago, when my connection just vanished. I went to try and reconnect but my Belkin N Wireless USB adapter could not find any wireless networks to connect to. While searching for a connection, the light starts blinking like it is searching, but then it says that it can't find any. Also, when I plug in the adapter, a popup comes up saying that there are wireless networks nearby, but when I click it there are still none.
I've tried reinstalling drivers but still nothing. I'm not sure what else to try because I'm afraid I might mess something up even more.
I am running 32 bit Vista Home Basic SP1.I cannot get online. When I hover the mouse over the network icon in the notification area, it reads, "Connection status unknown. The dependency service or group failed to start". When I try to diagnose the problem, I can't because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not running. When I try to Start the service, access is denied (Error 5). Same scenario for the service DHCP Client. When I click on Start/Connect To - I get the msg Windows Cannot Find Any Networks Meanwhile, I keep getting warnings that my firewall is not enabled. When I try to enable it, I get a message that the Security Center can't turn it on.
Windows Firewall is not listed in services.msc.I ran a full Malwarebytes scan and it found nothing wrong. I did a system restore to several days before the problem, but even though the restore completed successfully, it didn't change my (non)results. The Network and Sharing Center does not display the familiar PC monitor icon with a line to the Network and another line going from the Network to the Internet. Instead it just has the word Unknown with the caption the depencency or groiup failed to start I have heard that this might be due to a permissions issue, but when I use regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServices and right click on Dhcp, select Permissions, I get an error when I try to add anything (either Local Service or Network Service).
The msg is c:Windowssystem32adsldp.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again..I have run sfc /scannow as well as chkdsk /f. Scannow reported that it found some problems but was unable to fix all of them. Chkdsk found and corrected about 10 errors, but neither of these programs worked with the issue.Additionally I have downloaded and installed Process Monitor on the PC, but the amount of information displayed is overwhelming, and I'm not sure what to check. Every time I try to start DHCP I get about 200 lines of info on the screen.
When I open a command prompt and run ipconfig /all, I get that DHCP is running, although it is not. I get the bogus ip address of 169.254.... I get a default gateway of zeroes. Is it possible that this behavior could simply be the result of a bad NIC card? Can I possibly run an in-place upgrade from Vista Home Basic to Vista Home Premium? If it's a Dell PC and I have the Dell Premium CD will it ask me for the product key? If so, will the key on the Basic PC work?
I am using a Dell Inspiron 1750 running windows 7 and all of the sudden last night I lost internet connection an was unable to find it again. after searching online i found something that sent me to services to start my WLAN autoconfig but it only gives me the message "error 998 invalid access to memory location" I just want to get back online
My son is at college and his roommates can connect to wireless, but his computer does not recognize a network. It says the settings saved on the computer do not match the requirements of the network
I just configured a 2 computers into a routers and and connected them to each other. My computer is them connected to one of the routers(configured PCs). The computer uses the default gateway of the router interface it is connected to. A ping to the default gateway repplies positively. A ping to the second interface to the same router goes successful but a ping to the first interface of the second router gives the "request time out" respond and a ping to the second interface of the second router gives the "destination host unreachable" respond.
I had a wireless network set up between my Dell D630 and a Del XPS M1210 with IS and worked fine. Then we sold the XPS and got a E4300. I set up a wireless network on it with IS and it also worked fine. Both laptops running XP. The E4300 has SP3 and the D630 was set up with SP2 but I upgraded to SP3. The network was difficult to connect at times so I had to bypass the firewall to connect. Once connected, IS worked fineHowever, latetly it refused wireless connection even though the connection was visible. I have now tried to set up a new wireless between the 2 but it doesn't even show when I refresh the wireless connections in range.
