Proxy Server For Windows 8 APP Live Feed Update

Jan 20, 2013

All the internet access from my company needs to be pass through a proxy server from the Global server which needs a LDAP user name/password in order to access the internet resource. Recently, I purchase 2 set of Windows 8 professional 64B OEM machine, the IE is ok as I embed the proxy IP/LDAP user name/password etc.. I can also install some Windows APP from the store, however, all live feed seems blocked..Tried quite a lot work around but no cure. Could I setup another internal proxy server (linux based) which store my LDAP user name/password in order to access the external resource and all Windows8 machine shall point the proxy to this Linux proxy server so it can use my LDAP user name/password.

Server Not Showing Up In Network Places (2008 R2)

May 18, 2011

I am having trouble setting up mapped network drive or folder. My server and workstation are set up on a domain with windows server 2008 r2. The server only shows up on my workstation(windows 7) when I put in \server in the search. It pops up then on the left hand side but not in the main window. When I go back to my computer "map network drive" I hit browse and still the server does not show up under the network (but my computer does). When I try to do this on the server, I go to map network drive and nothing shows up under the network. I have even gone into group policies and mapped the drive that way and still nothing shows up.

Cisco Wireless :: WLC 4402 Multiple Clients Can Connect To AP But Only One Gets An IP

Nov 4, 2012

I have a 4402 which is connected to a 4506 Switch int Gig 3/1 via a trunk port. The Managment and AP-manger interfaces are on vlan 6 [code] I have a 1142N AP also connected to the switch and it pulls a DHCP IP Address and configs etc and registers to the WLC. It too is on Vlan 6 and it is connected to the 4506 on int gig 4/33 which is an access port. [code] I am doing local authentication, so i have added users to the WLC.. My problem is that the first client that connected was able to get an IP address and connect to anything internal and external.I then connected another client on another laptop and that client could connect but not get an IP address, it  just self assigned. When i look at the clients i can see the MAC address of both Clients on the WLC, but doing a show mac address-table dynamic i only see the MAC of the client that works properly. The client that doesnt get an IP has no entry in the 4506 switch.I am stumped, from what I understand, is that the 2nd clients traffic is being trunked to the WLC , hence it has the MAC address. But I dont know why its not getting a DHCP assigned IP address.

I am setting up a new remote access VPN using the traditional IPSec client via ASA 5515-X runnning OS 8.6.1(5). We require to provide each client multiple DNS suffixes, but are only to provide a single DNS suffix in the group policy.I have tested using an external DHCP server, but using our Windows Server 2008 infrastructure and Option 119 the list is not provided to clients, and I have read that Windows 7 clients may ignore this option anyway.

Cisco Routers :: ISA570W / DHCP Reservation For Multiple Clients At Once?

Jun 4, 2013

All the SOHO routers I have used had a table which shows IP, MAC, Name, etc. In this table, I could easily put a check mark to a check box in a row  that I would like to bind/reserve and IP would be reserved for that specific MAC.

In ISA570W, when I need to reserve/bind an IP to a MAC it asks me to fill out a table in which I have to manually type in the name, IP, and MAC.

Is there an easier way?Is there a way to do the reservation for multiple clients at once?If this is the only way, do I need to copy the mac address of each client somewhere and then reserve IPs for each one manually? This method looks very far from user friendly and efficient, unless there is a very logical reason that I cannot think of.

Home Broadband And Routing To Multiple Devices?

This means that from externaly, I can only access a single machine, obviously I can RDP from there but I need other services, for example SSH to another machine. Anything that I can buy which I can set as my DMZ, but can have rules which will redirect me once in the internal network to different services?

Cisco :: PEAP MSCHAPv2 With Multiple ACS4.2 Authentication Servers Clients Get Dropped?

Feb 10, 2011

I have a WPA2/AES network with PEAP MsChapv2 authentication. I have 2 ACS servers for authentication. The problem I have is dropped clients. Both ACS servers are setup identical. The database replcation has been preformed.A series of 10 clients connects wirelessly and they are all  successful.  ACS server 1 is the primary and ACS server 2 is the backup.   We verified that the 10 users authenticated to the primary ACS. My time out to reauth is 30 minutes on the WiSM. 10 minutes into the test we took down the Primary server.  This should have had no impact on the clients. 5 minutes later the clients lost thier authentication and were dropped from the network. They were able to reconnect by shutting down thier wireless client and reconnecting. The authentications were seen on the Backup ACS server.on a test of falling back to the primary  the same thing happened again to the clients.

Combine Multiple Broadband Connections On Single Network?

Apr 27, 2011

setting up a simple internet plan for a place, but a LAN center needs crazy fast internet, faster than most large enterprise class offices that take up an entire floor or two. Otherwise there is too much lag in games like first person shooters. We are expecting to have 60 computers, plus people bringing their own gaming rigs from home and laptops as well, xbox, ps3 and other consoles, all accessing the internet at the same time to varying degrees, with no room for lag. There is a LAN center in california that has 200 or more computers and they pay for 9 t3 lines, which is thousands and thousands of dollars per month. Plus the initial equipment to set that up from what I can find on cdw is many thousands of dollars also. Something like 10,000 for a router with 4 expansion bays, and 4000-6000 dollars for a t3 expansion card, bringing the total to around 22-28,000 for equipment to do just 4 t3's. Plus the monthly cost. Since we don't need all of the traffic to be secured like a high end business class line like a t3, I was considering what it would be like, and how one would set up, having multiple cable internet lines coming in. They make cable wic cards for cisco routers. 4, 50meg cable lines would give us 200 down and 40 up but I don't know how to make that work without having multiple public ip's. I was thinking that if I did have multiple public ip's on the network I could just divide the computers up so that they are in groups, using all of the public ip addresses for gateways, so that the load is split pretty evenly, but still, there should be a more seamless way to do this, I just don't know what it is. At the rate for business cable internet, 4 lines would probably only cost around 700 dollars a month, which is much better than probably 5 grand a month for several t3 lines.

Set Up Multiple Access Points With Packetfront DRG700 Broadband Modem?

Apr 22, 2013

I have a Packetfront DRG700 broadband modem (fiberoptic), which also has a wireless DHCP server built-in. In addition I have a D-Link DIR-615 router which is connected by cable to the modem. I want both units to be wireless access points for the same local network.

I've tried disabling the DHCP server on the D-Link and naming both units with the same SSID and passphrase, but that didn't work because whenever I'm wirelessly connected to the D-Link, I get an IP address from my broadband provider and not from the DHCP server on my modem; i.e. I'm no longer connected to my local network.

I'm told by my provider that the reason is because the DHCP server on the DRG700 only works wireless, while the LAN ports are given IPs from outside the house. (I would use one of these ports for my broadband TV decoder.)

HD5 Panel Connection To Internet Feed?

Internet feed to router1 outlets through the HD5 panel & to router2, and router2 to outlets through the HD5 panel. Hope that made sense. This seems very cumbersome to me. Is there a piece missing? How do we get the internet feed to the HD5 panel so we don't have a room full of four/six hole routers?

Cisco Firewall :: Video Feed Through ASA 5510 8.2(2)?

Mar 13, 2012

I have a setup using an ASA 5510 8.2(2). In the DMZ (192.168.12.x) there is a server, switch and multiple cameras for surveillance of the site. In the Inside (140.152.25.x) are the pcs that can run the client software to view the video feed, or it can pull from the server in the DMZ.

On the server in the DMZ, you can see the feed, along with any pc you connect to that network. On any machine on the Inside, or through VPN, you cannot either with the client software or pulling from the surveillance server.

I am watching the connection through ASDM and don’t see any particular port being blocked, but I do see TCP connections being terminated by inspection. So far I’ve taken out inspections for http and rstp. I don’t really see anything else that would drop video. I've attached the error I keep seeing.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 887 / Server Has No Internet But Clients Do

Oct 3, 2011

I was so fed up of using the out of a box routers from PC World or the provided router from the host that I decided to splash out and buy a decent router. The Cisco 887 came highly recommended and seems to be a great purchase so far.  Our down time and internet hangs vanished overnight.Having had this installed for several weeks now I thought it was time to look at my problems with it,I have 2 broadcom network cards, 1 for the LAN and 1 for the WAN, All machines connected to the LAN get full internet access but my server will not.

The router plugs directly into the Server (2008) with an IP address of 10.10.10.1 - this is listed under the LAN settings in Cisco CP Express.I have a fixed IP address which appears to be set up correctly and all my terminals / client pc's that are plugged through the switch. These all show IP's that look like 192.168.1.x / I am not an IT wizz kid but I know my way around a computer pretty well. I am guessing I need to move the router IP to within range.  At present the Server sorts out the DHCP and we also have a VOIP phone system.

Cisco Wireless :: 4402 / Clients Not Getting DHCP From External Server?

Jan 16, 2013

I have a 4402 (version 7.0.235) working with 10 units of 1121 APs connected to it. The WLC is not configured to work in LAG mode. Physical portt #1 is connected to the Main Switch (trunk). I have 3 WLAN mapped to 3 Different VLAN and Everything (security and internal, external DHCP) is working swell...Now- I have connected Physical port #2 directly to an ADSL Router (giga port), Configured Port 2 as untaggedwith the proper IP details.I have configured this interface to receive DHCP from the ADSL Router and for some reason, Clients are not getting addresses. When I assign a Static address to my laptop I get internet access and all is nice. I tried configuring The WLC internal DHCP server (instead of the ADSL router) and that didn't work. It seems like a DHCP problem but I dont understand the source of the problem of think of the solution. When turning off the proxy settings I noticed that it worked. Is there anything to do with that? The problem was that after a while the other WLANs starting causing DHCP issues as well.

Cisco Routers :: Wireless Clients On WRVS4400n Cannot Access Server

Mar 10, 2012

When clients connect wirelessly to the WRVS4400N they successfully get a DHCP address from the Windows 2008 server.  After they have the address they can no longer access the server.  It cannot be pinged, no drives can be mapped and internet access fails because the same server is running DNS.  The WRVS4400N is setup for DCHP relay to the server.  Wired clients do not have this problem.  Wireless clients that connect to a secondary WAP on the same LAN also do not experience this problem.  I have updated the router to the latest firmware version, reset it to factory defaults and reconfigured from scratch.  Turning the server firewall off has not made any difference either.  I have been able to bypass the internet problem by adding a second external DNS server in the DHCP scope options.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Get E4200 To Not Provide Itself As DNS Server To DHCP Clients?

I have the unit set up to provide two dns servers to the clients, but the 4200 always provides itself as a third and it uses my cable providers dns servers. I am using a dns based filtering service to prevent certain material from being accessed within my network as the first two resolvers. So long as both or one of the provided servers is working it doesn't fall back to the unfiltered third, but I would prefer to remove it entirely.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT310n V2 - Primary DNS Server For All DHCP Clients

Nov 24, 2012

The router always inserts its’ own address as the primary DNS server for the all DHCP clients even though you have set the DHCP server on the router to assign manual external addresses?

Oh I have a
WRT310n v2
firmware v2.0.01 build 004

Let me elaborate a little so I am clear what I am saying.  On the router setup page go to the section that is labeled “DHCP server settings” enter 3 static DNS servers.  Say 2 Google and one open dns.
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
208.67.222.222

Apply your settings.

Release your ip on your workstation, then renew it. And look at your DNS, the routers address is still the first entry.

DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

I suspect this was probably a design decision so that they could allow a user to open their web browser and type something neat like [URL].  Which for the average user is fine and dandy.  If my ISP didn’t suck and try to redirect everything to cached copies I probably wouldn’t have noticed it.  But since I end up using the router for DNS and it picks up DNS from my ISP I end up getting Akamai IP addresses, and they have problems with SSL certs….  So you get errors.

I know I can go set the DNS server settings on the workstations.  But I really don’t want to do this on all of my devices as they are mobile and switch networks, and on some networks not using the local dns breaks things.  Like on the corporate network.
