i am experiencing message loss for 1 sec randomly (within a span of 2-3 days) for multicast feeds running through cisco 4948 switch.But not able to isolate the issue is due to c4948 box or something else.

and write mem to save it all. I can ping, telnet and access cisco network assistant from inside the network perfectly. But the problem I'm having is accessing it from outside, can't even ping the device. I can ssh to other servers behind the network just fine. There is no firewall in place at the moment, the provider's drop is plugged in gige port 1?

I have a setup using an ASA 5510 8.2(2). In the DMZ (192.168.12.x) there is a server, switch and multiple cameras for surveillance of the site. In the Inside (140.152.25.x) are the pcs that can run the client software to view the video feed, or it can pull from the server in the DMZ.
On the server in the DMZ, you can see the feed, along with any pc you connect to that network. On any machine on the Inside, or through VPN, you cannot either with the client software or pulling from the surveillance server.
I am watching the connection through ASDM and don’t see any particular port being blocked, but I do see TCP connections being terminated by inspection. So far I’ve taken out inspections for http and rstp. I don’t really see anything else that would drop video. I've attached the error I keep seeing.

We recently moved into an office space with a Siemon HD5 panel in the comm room and outlets in cubical spaces. We have an internet feed into the building and we are trying to get all the outlets live. Right now we are using multiple routers to run a cable to each outlet on the HD5 panel. Internet feed to router1 outlets through the HD5 panel & to router2, and router2 to outlets through the HD5 panel. Hope that made sense.This seems very cumbersome to me. Is there a piece missing? How do we get the internet feed to the HD5 panel so we don't have a room full of four/six hole routers?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI encountered an issue while trying to boot Catalys WS-C4948-S switch. I power on the switch and I'm able to see the boot messages thourgh serial console cable. But it gets stuck at line "Image text-base: 0x1000000, data-base: ..... ". Also I can enter into rommon mode. I tried to use different kinds of IOS images, tried to boot from tftp but with no luck, the issue is the same.
There are no erros on the screen, it just gets stuck when it enters into IOS, so I don't see the IOS prompt.
Working on a C4948-10g switch. Trying to reset switch to factory settings. I have ran the Switch#>wr erase, command but the vlan's are still in the config. If you do a show vlan it still shows all the vlan text. I have tried the Switch#>delete vlan.dat, doesn't work. Tried Switch#>delete nvram:vlan.dat, doesn't work. Tried Switch#>erase startup-config, doesn't work. How can I get rid of the vlan's?

At the switch end port 1/46, 1/47, 1/48 are the terminating points for these 3 devices . I have added these three ports to VLAN140 (switch port access vlan140 on the gig interfaces).
The device connected to 1/46 is the one I'm testing some signalling features on. My requirement is to have intermittent packet drop on this interface so that my signalling associations would go down now and then. I'm trying to simulate a real-time network congestion/latency/packet drop in a simple manner.
I do not want to shut/no shut the 1/46 intf to cause this. Some way to achieve intermittent packet drop on this gig1/46 intf ?

Recently, I purchase 2 set of Windows 8 professional 64B OEM machine, the IE is ok as I embed the proxy IP/LDAP user name/password etc.. I can also install some Windows APP from the store, however, all live feed seems blocked..Tried quite a lot work around but no cure. I was able to access the camera feed using the Linksys WRT 610N, when it wasn't dying on me. I can access the camera feed from inside of my LAN. When we make VOIP outbound calls through the standard ISP, there is no auditory packet loss sympton; however, when we make calls to out sister branch through our VPN, we experience auditory packet loss symptoms.
I would think the VPN should only be affecting the encapsulation of the data. To my understanding the VPN packets and non-vpn packets all hit the router at the same time, and transport over the web in the same manner. Why would there be packet loss over only the VPN??
--Regarding QoS, if a standard layer 3 device receives a VOIP packet encapsulated in a VPN, do the QoS bits in the VOIP packet get acknowledged, or are they hidden by the VPN encapsulation?
I am implementing mGRE with DMVPN so multicast traffic can be delivered to employee homes over Internet, everything worked fine except that I can not configure PIM or ICMP static groups on C881W's mGRE tunnel interface or BVI interface(RIPv2 works on mGRE interface however), configuring "ip multicast-routing" did not give me any errors, do I need license to be about to configure PIM/IGMP? I have a 350 Series PCI Wireless LAN Adapter in my old WinXP, not wireless-ready Compaq.I live off the grid, no landlines and have been using a Franklin CDU680 USB air card to connect to the Internet. The air card doesn't like my Compaq - occasionally crashes it. I thought to put the air card in a router to solve the problem and communicate with the router using the Cisco 350. Bought a Cradle Point router from my ISP and plugged in the Franklin. Then spent the next 5 days trying to get the Cisco 350 to associate with the router.I now have a profile with the router's SSID in it that according to the ACU's status report is associated with that SSID. Problem is that there is no Internet connection.

When I apply a service-policy on atm pvc, after 10 to 20 minutes I lose IP connectivity on ATM interface and tunnel interface also goes to down state. If I remove the service policy on ATM PVC IP connectivty returns back.
Interestingly I use exactly the same config on 2821 platform (w. WIC-1SHDSL installed) and I do not live such an issue on that platform.I tried to carry the Qos config on to Tunnel interface with shaping enabled and "no qos-preclassify" command issued, but the result is the same.

I am running an 877W in the home that for the most part works fine, however after being connected for a variable amount of time I partially loose my DSL connection. Line sync stays up, but the traffic is lost.
A shut/no sut of the atm or dialer interfaces does not resolve the issue, only a reload or power down/up will fix the prob short term till it happens again.
Am currently running advipservicesk9-mz.151-3.T1, but have also rolled back to advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T5 which has the same issue. Have tried a 857W with the same results. So ruling out IOS and hardware, its pointing to a config issue. It has also only been an issue since changing from ADSL1 to ADSL2+.

The desktop team has asked me to set up multicast in our network with building PC's as they will be deploying a few hundred of them starting in two weeks. We currently do not have multicast set up, and the only experience I have with it was during my certification studies, so I have a lot to catch up on quick. They will be sending the build traffic from a single server. The network environment is simple: a 3750 stack as the router/distribution layer and mainly 3550's as access. The PC's that they will be imaging will be on one VLAN that is already designated for PXE builds. This VLAN is across multiple switches. Is it possible to just enable the multicast features on a single VLAN? I have been reading around but not finding much other that very in-depth Cisco papers.

I have verified IP connectivity. I am using PIM dense mode. When I perform a packet capture on the tap interface I see no traffic to 224.1.1.1. I have multicast routing setup between two Nexus 7K's.These Nexus 7K's act as the distribution layer and they connect to 48 different 4507 access layer switches (VPC) and 3 6509 core layer switches.The 4507 swiches have two supervisor modules. One acting as active and the other as hot standby. Let's assume that multicast is working on the active module. If I pull out the active module the hot standby takes it's place. This is where multicast stops working on the switch.How can I get both Nexus 7K's to work with multicast at the same time. Here is an example of show ip mroute from both Nexus 7K's:note that DR02 has a lot more entries in the routing table. Is this working as designed?

This application is running on two different IP Subnets 192.168.121.0/24 and 192.168.99.0/24. It must be required that these two IP Subnets must not see each other thus they are configured on two different VLANs. Now we have a requirement where this application need to be installed on Remote Sites where Routers will be used to provide the connectivity.
The problem I am facing is that if I will configure the Remote Sites with some other IP Subnets e.g. 192.168.1.0/24 than Networks are unable to talk to each other even Multicast Routing is configured on Routers. Now at least as per my requirement, I need two separate subnets need to be configured on remote sites where one subnet will communicate with Subnet 192.168.121.0/24 and other subnet will communicate with 192.168.99.0/24.
i already created a vpn server on my 878 router.. so that i can connect with ip-sec (cisco vpn client) to this router and network..
all working great... however... when i also want to allow multicast traffic over my vpn connection. do i then need a GRE vpn? or what?or is this only needed when you use a site to site vpn..?And how can i enable this?
