I am using a network switch to share my broadband between four PCs.Among these PCs, one is for students. Is it possible that I can do the following 2 things from modem whose page can be accessed through 192.168.1.1;
1. Restrict some website like Facebook, Youtube etc
2. Limit download speed of that PC to 100KB/s
I am running the SGE2000 as my l3 core switch with multiple inter-vlans.
have a customer requirement that needs to restrict eg. GUEST-VLAN10 to all other VLANS in the network. Only allowing access to the internet.
It seems on the switch i am able to bind ACL to per port interface. if this is possible on the SGE2000
My problem is that whenever I switch my pc on I have to physically enable the WZC program and then select windows to manage my wireless network settings. Once I enable it this way it is fine, but then if I restart or shut down my pc then I have to do all the process again...which is rather annoying!I have a BT Home Hub 2.0 and Cisco WUSB600N dual band wireless adapter.I understand you have to choose one program to manage the wireless network settings as they conflict, but on the Network Magic program that comes with the Cisco adapter, I cannot find an option on there to disable it.There is another pc using the hub with an exact same adapter aswell and when that is switched on the broadband connection automatically loads on that. So I am a bit stuck, I've trawled the internet for answers but have come to a dead end.

Unfortunately I found I can use any user from my AD to login to my devices. Only LOGIN, the authorization definition is restricting the command set for those users.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Wireless-N Home Router WRT120N with version 1.0.07 seems to have a problem blocking Sites through scheduling with Access Restriction "Allow" ...I notice that... when I enable access restriction, with policy and some range of computers connecting to my router , and set it to "allow" from "monday - friday" from "8am-6pm" .. with a purpose of blocking some social networking sites, example facebook, It works perfectly fine. But when the "scheduled" time comes ( before 8am and after 6pm ).. I cannot access the internet.. router is working, it detects my modem.. but no internet connection. It always happen before and after the "scheduled time" before the configured access restriction takes over. I have to disable the Access Restriction to continue our internet access.

What will be the outcome at time of video streaming and video conference ? View 7 Replies View Relatedmy gateway laptop, running vista 64 home premium, cannot connect to the internet at home. connects straight to the modem via ethernet. displays as 'unidentified network'. according to the Atlantic BB tech(my ISP), my laptop is not obiaining an IP addy from the modem. The modem seems good, and the tech could see the modem from his end, but no IP addy from the laptop. ran ipconfig /all from home and the gateway was 207.255.36.1(preferred) instead of 192.168.x.x So i'm stumped with no net at home. the ipv4 properties do have the obtain automatically button checked, and dhcp is enabled. had the tech reset the provisioning on the modem & he said the mac addresses were cleared already. i reset the ipv4, ipv6, and winsock. haven't gotten anywhere. tech's last advice was to bring the modem back and swap it for another one.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe upgraded our router from WRT54G V5.0 to WRT110. before we dont have any issues using the ACCESS RESTRICTION from WRT54G but now on WRT110 we encounter a GLOBAL BUG. we are blocking the website like Youtube, Friendster, Facebook etc. on the EDIT LIST TAB we specify 4 IP Address that will not going to access the said websites. The problem is...all Computers (about 15 PC) that are using the Internet cannot access the said website also but we did not enter the other IP's.

On SIP we have 3 Tengigabit interfaces. But ASR do traffic restriction approximately to 12Gb.SIP40 in 0 slot.What could be root cause of the issue?
I have 2 questions to confirm and/or get direction on how to modify.
1) is there a way to get around the (seemingly arbitrary) class C (slash 24+) subnet restriction for the primary/main IP address for the internal LAN?
(I realize I can setup multiple internal subnets but that also seems to introduce restrictions for port ‘forwarding’ and ‘one-to-one NAT’ use because those features seem to be restricted to the primary/main IP subnet)
2) it seems like all traffic is passed to the host on the internal side of a ‘One-to-One NAT’ regardeless of the firewall rules in place, is that what is be expected?

I have two networks. One is DSL and the other is Cable network. The cable network have a subnet 192.168.155.? and working as DHCP.It is also using a proxy server. The DSL network is also DHCP through WIN2K3 and ISA also installed i.e. using a proxy.My question is "is it possible to connect these two network through some process or router that the people can use either of them using a single NIC.
