I have opened the ports up on my Virgin Super Hub, and everything else in my house connected to this network can access the ports which I've opened, however just on this PC, I can't seem to open them, I've tried closing my firewall, and that didn't work either.

I made it bridged to be on the same LAN. how I can open ports and can be able to telnet for example port 80?
My TP-Link 8817 which is connected to my ASUS RT-N66u appears to be blocking my ports. I port forwarded on my router to set up a server. I do have the right IP and ports set up. Originally i thought it was the router but then "netMakeChannDial: err=-3000 rn_p=8050dc14" appeared in the modem log but nothing in the router log even though i turned on the "logged packets type" to Both. I have googled this error but nothing came up so I'm probably just doing something stupid. I have even tried turning off the modem firewall and SPI, but still no luck.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought the EA6500 yesterday, to replace my E3200.Formerly, with the E3200, I was able to block applications on the router admin page, without blocking all internet access, under the "Access Restrictions" Tab. I could create access policies that allowed internet access to specific devices, while blocking port ranges/protocols for specific applicatons. while this didn't work for Skype, which jumps from one port to the other until it finds an open one, it worked perfectly for World of Warcraft. the primary target of my restrictions.in common with the old setup for the E3200, the new cloud login allows me to block internet access completely to a device. it also allows me to block websites to my heart's content, an improvement upon the old system, which stopped at four. but to my great surprise, it will not allow me to specify port blockages for specific apps for specific devices., while the new EA6500 is blessed with the added capability of actually recognizing applications by name, *it is only to give them greater priority*. the Media Prioritization tab lets you give a ton of your bandwith to specific apps, but won't let you throttle or block them. Is there some way to work around this? Some alternative firmware? again, I don't want/need to block all internet access to a particular computer. I only need to block some apps (World of Warcraft, and Skype, possibly some torrents) by closing some ports.

I dont understand what is the problem, actually i have added the command power inline never on the port and the problem is solved, but we haven´t changed configuration.
If I have the IP ACL firewall enabled in my RVS4000 I have trouble connecting to specific websites and also connecting to Apple's update servers. The problem appears to be that the firewall is blocking incoming data to the ephemeral ports even when they are allowed in the firewall rules. I've also tried port forwarding rules but the only thing that resolves the problem is to disable the firewall entirely, which is not the desired resolution. The firmware version is 2.0.27.

In my webdmz I use 2 ACE 4710 proxys in FT mode. I used a layer 2 switch to connect firewall and proxys together.
I would like to eliminate this switch if possible..and connect both 4710's (layer 2) direct to firewall.If I could make gi0/2 - 4 part of the same vlan, then I would be good to go.

The software (Dell Mobile Broadband Utility Help) says " Choose Network Selection from the Settings Menu. Select AT&T and click Load." Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.
How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.
My daughter is 10,000 miles from home taking classes in South Africa and her laptop is having issues! She can connect fine via wifi at the local internet cafe and it works just fine....but from her flat she has to connect wifi first then sign into broadband. She can get the wifi connection but her modem just sits there saying dialing and never gets anywhereWe have tried updating the modem driver to no avail, there is no static IP set up in her network connections, modem status says its ok.

I have 2 PCs and a laptop connected to my home wireless network. They're all running XP. My ISP in the UK is PlusNet and I have a DSL connection (I think).
Two days ago, my pc stopped connecting to the internet - no internet pages would load (*see below) and no email would transfer. I tried the other PC and the laptop and they had the same problem. However, when I switched off the first pc, the other two started working fine. Very strange - it was as if the first pc was blocking the other two. I checked the malfunctioning pc to see if there was sone lardge data transfer taking place that was eating up all the bandwidth, but I couldn't find anything going on and the lights on the modem weren't flashing.
I've tried reloading the drivers for my wireless adapter and have even tried using the adpater off the other pc, but I'm still getting the same behaviour.
*Tonight I've noticed that my homepage, Google, does load and I can search on it. But if I try to load any of the result links, I'm getting no reaction.
I'm running FProt virus checking (no viruses detected on the last scan - but it won't be right up to date because of the connection issues), Windows firwall and SpyBot Blaster.
NVIDIA is blocking my internet connecting on only one of my computers and it has become somewhat of an urgent situation. I need to know how to get rid of it immediately. I have no idea what NVIDIA is. I was using my computer and going on the internet without a problem and 3 hours later this issue came about.

I can fix this by going to Network Connections, disabling the connection, re-enabling the connection.But why does this happen? I notice the the following:1. When I look at the Network Connection it shows "Local Area Connection, Network 3, Unidentified network, Realtek PCIe....."2. View 2 Replies View RelatedWe just upgraded our ASA here at work to a new ASA5515-x with 8.6 (used to have a ASA5510). We used the VPN wizard to create a generic VPN Profile and Group. The profile works with split tunneling just fine from outside our network. But when I go home, I have an ASA5505 with 8.4. When i connect to work using the VPN Client on windows, it connects and gets the appropriate IP but i am not able to get to anything on our work network. When i try and connect using the built-in client on Mac OS X (10.5, 10.6, 10.7 or 10.8) using IP Sec, it comes back and says "Remote server did not respond". If i look at my console on the Mac, it shows it connected, built the first tunnel, then it sits. if i watch the logs on our 5515, it shows the same. But it will not authenticate the local user past the group. The Cisco VPN Client on the mac wont even attempt to connect, it just flashes connecting to x.x.x.x and disconnects about a second later.
Is there a setting that i am missing on my 5505 to allow VPN out? Is there a setting were missing on our 5515 that might not be allowing the VPN clients to connect from certain networks?
I have a server subnet that for the most part needs to be able to access the internet for patches, updates, etc. My SysAd wants 2 of the servers to not have access. The server subnet is attached to a 3750 and connects to an ASA to reach the outside world. Would it be better to setup an ACL on the SVI of the server subnet or on the outbound direction of the outside interface on the ASA.

But I have seen too, that when I enable a port it goes directly to Listening mode. When does a switchport goes to the Blocking mode first, mode that all the books I have read say it should go when you enable a port, and when it goes to Listening mode directly?
