View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a customer looking to deploy OEAP & wants to know if it possible to disable the local ports 1-3? Reason being, they don't want the home user connecting devices & causing more support tickets to troubleshoot an Xbox or Google TV just b/c it's connected to a company provide AP/Switch. I have read all the docs & it makes no mention of this.... I can see in 7.2 the ability to disable the local SSID but no mention of the ability to shutdown ports 1-3..Also see support in 7.2 for Dual RLAN... but that still leaves 2 local ports.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've browsed around to the other support strings to make sure I didn't miss anything, but I can't seem to get this to work. I have the latest sl_suspend_ports.tcl and tm_suspend_ports.tcl created by Joseph Clarke from strings that verified they worked as planned. Here are the commands I issued to register the scripts -
Directory of flash:/policies/
9 -rwx 3101 May 3 2013 07:58:03 +00:00 sl_suspend_ports.tcl
10 -rwx 4669 May 3 2013 07:58:44 +00:00 tm_suspend_ports.tcl
conf t
event manager directory user policy flash:/policies
event manager policy sl_suspend_ports.tcl
event manager environment suspend_ports_days 1
[code].....
It doesn't appear to work though. Essentially, we have a need to make sure all computers are always on and all ports not active for >24 hours to be shutdown and moved to a designated vlan (I added the 'lappend' statement to the script to specify the additional command of assigning the vlan) I'm running 12.2(55)SE7 on Catalyst 3560s and 3750sIs there a way to manually run the script? Did I miss anything in the configuration?
Is there any software that will prevent my internet connection from getting disconnected no matter the cause ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently finalising my project in Uni and in the project planning section is asks if there are any ethical considerations to be made in my project. I am conducting penetration testing on a VIRTUAL network simulator (GNS3) using Metasploit toolkit. I am guessing I will need permission to download these tools onto the university network, would that count as an ethical consideration? If not, what would I say in this section? note, all of the data I am using in the project was created by myself, and there is no other human participation.

I have a wireless router (an Actiontec PK5000) and two desktop computers that connect with USB wireless adapters. I'm looking for a way to stop one of those computers from connecting wirelessly, without disconnecting the other.I used to have a wired ethernet connection, but since I've moved my computer to a different room I've had to rely on a wireless connection. Previously, I shut off the wireless in the house whenever other people were hogging bandwidth, but now that's not an option, as it would shut me down too.

The reason i bought the router over a switch is because we are moving in 2 months and will have cable internet. So because of this if i have the router plugged into the computers and i plug my iphone with its USB into the computer to access the internet the router seems to block it. When calling support to find out how to disable the routing to allow the iphone internet through they seem to not know what the heck im talking about.
