I just bought and installed a new NVIDIA graphics card to replace my old one. After installing it, I now can't connect to internet. My modem and Router work fine, but my computer cannot find its IP address. I checked (C: prompt) and found the dreaded (169.) showing my computer can't connect with it's IP and I have tried everything to fix it?

My laptop wont find the wireless network and connect to it. When I click on the network centre it is unable to find my home network and all of the other ones that I can usually detect (live in an apartment block, I can always see other people's networks)So far I've tried:checked to see that wireless switch is turned onresetting the routertrouble shooter in the network centresystem restore back to a date before it stopped workingThe network is fine on my ipad and flatmate's computer, so it's obviously not the network that has the issue

I messed with some startup programs on msconfig and made sure I didn't disableanything that I didn't know much about, then it told me to restart my computerAfter restarting my laptop I couldn't find any networks at all, there are usually, around 20, and my sound didn't work. After that I tried to enable all of the ones I disabled before, but I am still getting the same problem.

When the internet goes out my modem gets stuck on the sending green light. Only way for me to fix it is uplug everything for about 2 minutes and plug back in. Is there anyway to fix this? will post setting upon request
Have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home premium. When I try to connect to a wireless connection it asks for a security key.The wireless connection is DWG85544.
I just got back from vacation and suddenly can't connect to my Wifi network at home with my netbook anymore. It says validating identity but never connects. When I try to repair the connection, it keeps authenticating and then says that windows is unable to find a certificate to log me on to the network. I did some googling and it was suggested to uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network box under the Authentication tab in Wireless Network properties. I tried that but then I get an error message saying "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration".I have no idea what to do or what the problem is. My other laptop works fine from which I have set up this network works fine. My phone seems to work fine, too. I already restarted the router and my netbook but that didn't work either.
Make and Model Cisco DPQ3212 (Modem)Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit (Router)So when I first got the router and modem and hooked it all up everything worked. Then the inter got shut off for a day then came back on and now the only way I can use it is by Ethernet cord. This would be fine but, unfortunately the Xbox in in the living room nowhere near the router. I have tried power resets and everything else the companies of both tell you to try but nothing is working.
I cannot establish a local connection between my new WRT54G2 v1 and my Slingbox Classic. I have reset the Slingbox to factory default settings and run the Sling setup wizard but keep getting told that "No Slingoxes Exist on network". The link light is on on both the router and the Slingbox. Slingbox does not show up in the DHCP host table.
My HP Probook 4520s doesn't show my wireless connection on the list, although the signal is on full strength on all other devices. My computer shows many other wireless connections in the area, just not mine!
I have a windows vista service pack 1 machine.I can browse the internet, download files, play songs, movies etc.But any program that attempts to auto update, or lets say I click a check for updates button on an antivirus program it tells me there is no internet connection.I can be online downloading a file and I might click spybots check for updates link and it tells me there is no internet connection. But it isn't just spybot, its everything. Everything that has some kind of built in check for updates fails.
adobe programs. windows updates. spybot superantispyware hitman pro
You name it, it doesn't see an internet connection. I can get online, download a program from the internet, install it and tell it to check for and update only to tell me there is no internet connection.I checked internet explorers connection settings to see if a virus or something had created a proxy server, nothing there.I ran ipconfig /all and checked there, nothing unusual.my windows firewall is turned off, and as far as I know I don't have any other firewalls installed. There must be something in common that all these programs must use in order to get online that is somehow messed up. Could my winsock be corrupted in such a way as to allow manual downloading but not automatic?
I have a toshiba laptop and want to clear browsing history, instructions tell me to go to tools, internet option and so but unfortunately under tools I don't have internet options, can
I purchased two WUSB600N V2 wireless adapters recently and have had nothing but problems on an otherwise stable network where I have iPads, iPhones, Netbooks, media centres, wireless printers, Notebooks and other USB PC-based network devices working without problems.
The WUSB600Ns are connected to desktop PCs, running WIndows XP SP3. I have removed the Linksys Network Management software and use Microsoft's wireless network management software. I am running the latest drivers 1.4.10.0 for the cards. My WAP is a Belkin F5D-8236-4 running in WAP only mode. It is set to 40Mhz Channel 11 primary, Channel 7 secondary. Protected Mode is off, Broadcast SSID is on. I run WPA2-PSK AES for encryption. Note: I've tried all combinations of bandwidth and channel settings. I've run Netstumbler to find clear air channels - 11 seems best.
The issues are:
* seldomly connects at boot automatically without intervention.
* occasionally does not find WAP to connect to.
* sometimes will not connect to WAP - sits at "Acquiring Network Address".
* sometimes will not even get to Acquiring Network Address.
* Will often, once connected, after a while lose connection - the timeframe is inconsistent.
All of my other devices do not have these issues. I've been working on this issue for about a week trying to stabilise, even get a consistent failure pattern, but I'm about to send them both back. These are close to the most frustrating devices I've configured and I've got a lot of stuff on my network.
I have a Sylvania 7" mini Netbook and I am connected to my wireless modem. My problem is that I am not able to browse the web any anyway. I keep getting cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer.
