Jan 18, 2011I am trying to set up a Linksys WAP4410N on our network. We are trying to run it using unrestricted access, but it is requiring a pin number. The prompt I get when trying to connect to the WAP is that the number should be in the original documentation. I can not find the original documentation and I cannot log into the WAP to find the PIN number.

Dec 2, 2012I'm developing a project where I use the SNMP protocol to discover the network. By discovering the network I mean go through all the routers and switches and retrieve the IP routing table from routers and the forwarding table from switches. With the routers I have no problem. For the switches I need to know for each port the MAC addresses and the Vlans. Basically it's use SNMP to find a port number from a MAC address. To do that i followed this tutorial: [URL]
The problem is that I'm using a Cisco 3725 Router with IOS 12.4 (21) and a NM-16ESW module to work as a Switch and when I use the OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.17 corresponding to the BRIDGE-MIB as it follows:
snmpwalk -v2c -c myrouter 10.1.1.5 .1.3.6.1.2.1.17
it returns:
SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.17.1.1.0 = Hex-STRING: 00 00 00 00 00 00
SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.17.1.2.0 = INTEGER: 0
SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.17.1.3.0 = INTEGER: 4
From this I guess there's no information on the router about Vlans or anything. Other thing is that when I use community string indexing it returns a timeout. My theory is that this version doesn't support indexing but I don't know.

Mar 26, 2011I have some tunnels which terminate to my home router. I'm allowing the other ends of the tunnels to use my voice setup. I need to prepend *67 to all called numbers which don't originate from my house. I don't want people calling my home number based on the caller-id number they see when someone across one of the tunnels calls.
So if 5008 calls 212-333-4444 I want it sent to my provider as *672123334444. If 5001 calls a number, I don't want it touched. Can I do this? I can use IOS or CUCM here.

When I click on the network centre it is unable to find my home network and all of the other ones that I can usually detect (live in an apartment block, I can always see other people's networks)So far I've tried:checked to see that wireless switch is turned onresetting the routertrouble shooter in the network centresystem restore back to a date before it stopped workingThe network is fine on my ipad and flatmate's computer, so it's obviously not the network that has the issue

Some streaming HDTV content to other devices in other rooms. I'm thinking of the following:
-DIR-655 routing between the DSL subnet to the internet, the 2.4GHz wireless and a couple of wired devices.
-DAP-1522 routing between the 2.4GHz wireless, 5GHz wireless, and a few wired devices.
-DAP-1522 bridging between the 5GHz wireless and a few wired devices.
All devices will/may need internet access.HDTV content would be between wired devices and only over the 5GHz wireless (no HDTV to/from internet).Is the DAP-1522 the right device(s) for this?

Then the inter got shut off for a day then came back on and now the only way I can use it is by Ethernet cord. This would be fine but, unfortunately the Xbox in in the living room nowhere near the router. Apr 23, 2011I purchased two WUSB600N V2 wireless adapters recently and have had nothing but problems on an otherwise stable network where I have iPads, iPhones, Netbooks, media centres, wireless printers, Notebooks and other USB PC-based network devices working without problems.
The WUSB600Ns are connected to desktop PCs, running WIndows XP SP3. I have removed the Linksys Network Management software and use Microsoft's wireless network management software. I am running the latest drivers 1.4.10.0 for the cards. My WAP is a Belkin F5D-8236-4 running in WAP only mode. It is set to 40Mhz Channel 11 primary, Channel 7 secondary. Protected Mode is off, Broadcast SSID is on. I run WPA2-PSK AES for encryption. Note: I've tried all combinations of bandwidth and channel settings. I've run Netstumbler to find clear air channels - 11 seems best.
The issues are:
* seldomly connects at boot automatically without intervention.
* occasionally does not find WAP to connect to.
* sometimes will not connect to WAP - sits at "Acquiring Network Address".
* sometimes will not even get to Acquiring Network Address.
* Will often, once connected, after a while lose connection - the timeframe is inconsistent.
All of my other devices do not have these issues. I've been working on this issue for about a week trying to stabilise, even get a consistent failure pattern, but I'm about to send them both back.These are close to the most frustrating devices I've configured and I've got a lot of stuff on my network.

Jun 27, 2011I just installed a new router E3200.... now to install compatible USB adapter (AE2500)..... problems. The error is that the Cisco Connect software cannot find the USB adapter when I plug the AE2500 into any of the USB ports. The target machine is a lenovo T61 with XP installed.I have successfully installed the AE2500 on an older machine lenovo R52 with XP , no problems, so not the adapter.
I downloaded more recent version of Cisco Connect v 1.0.03, still no luck on T61.I also disabled firewall and virus protection, that did not work. Other possibilities I can try? I got the AE2500 for the T61, would like to get there.
