I've tried (resetting the router, power cycling everything, MAC cloning, disabling UPnP, changing RTS, fragmentation, and beacon settings, etc) have worked. When I hook up the router I can see the wireless signal with my laptop, but the link light on the modem stays off and I can't get online with either computer. (If I switch things so that the computer is hooked to the "internet" port on the router and the modem is connected to one of the four other router ports the link light blinks like it was online, but doesn't actually work.) When I go to the router status I get all zeros.
I got a new isp today and it worked with a new modem connected with a wire .. When I connected the router it wouldn't find the network so i connected the modem again with just the wire and it still won't go online.
I shut down my laptop over Christmas and when I returned it would no longer connect to the Internet. It will connect to the network but not the Internet. Every other device I have (blu-ray player, work laptop, iPad, etc) goes online without any problem using the same router and network. I am running windows 7 and a linksys router that is a year old. Its a Dell Inspiron 1545. I was connected wirelessly but have a LAN connected now while I work this. Neither will connect to the Internet. I have terrible trouble with routers and am terrible when it comes to hardware. My computer skills for this sort of thing are only average. Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection.I've looked for ideas in various places online and have tried many things: [code] Next step is to throw it all out the window! I have a small home business and people are waiting for contracts that I can't currently deliver.
I bought the Dlink 655 about a week ago, it worked fine online via Wi-Fi for my Ps3 for the first few days, then after the first few days it started lagging. It will have little lag jumps every 5-10 seconds and it is really annoying and it really makes playing online impossible. Also it wont let me view videos through the internet on my Ps3, I never had this problem until I got this router
I'm trying to remove my router from my home network and connect my computer directly into the line coming into the house. I'm doing this to, among other things, run some tests to evaluate the impact of my router on my bandwidth. However, removing the line seems to be causing problems.Everything is fine when I'm behind the router, but once I unplug the line from the router and plug it directly into my computer, I can't connect to the internet. I get a "limited or no access" error on my Local Area Network. Once I reconnect the router, though, everything's fine.I've tried several things.I've tried turning off the Windows Firewall to no avail (I have no other firewalls on my computer).I've checked to make sure that "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are checked, which they are.I ran ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew only to receive the following error:"An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out."I'm running Windows 7 behind a Linksys WRT54G router. My line is (I think) fiber-optic, since there's no modem anywhere in the house, just a small beige termination box.I've posted dumps of ipconfig /all with and without the router. What do I need to do to get online without the router? [code]
Yesterday my wireless internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged the ethernet cable directly from the modem to the computer and everything was fine, so I reset the router, reconnected it to the modem, and went to the setup page 192.168.1.1. I reconfigured the router on the setup page, leaving all previous settings the same (except I renamed the network from linksys to our own name and reconfirmed the WPA Personal password). My computer can connect to the wireless network but I can't go online.
I have a D-Link DIR-615 router, hardware version E3, firmware 5.10
When I go to get a list of servers when playing games online, my router lights up and then crashes, and I cant get on the internet again until I exit the game. Although, some games do work. There are no problems with my firewall, and if I connect directly to my modem, I can play fine.
I just installed two FPS games.. My router reboot every time those game search for servers list. ( So i can't actually play those games) I have a dir-601 n-150 dlink router. I have successfully played online with another connection. I tried opening some ports, but it didn't work. The firmware is up to date.
I have a Linky E2000 and i´m having problems connecting laptops. My laptop is working fine but my girlfriends just wont work. I have a modem for internet and from there a networkcable is plugged in my Linky E2000. I´ve installed the router on my laptop with the following disc. I can go online wireless but my girlfriend can´t. Is it possible to go online wireless with two laptops?
I have just bought one of these linksys routers to try and solve a problem I am having with disconnects when playing online games with a ps3 and also some moderate firewall states with some games. My isp is bt and I have a black home hub v2, the problem with this router is that it does not like doing dmz or port forwarding for that matter very successfuly, apparently the new router I have bought is much better at these things. So I'm trying to figure out if its best for me to buy a modem to go with this router or to configure the hh to work as a modem only. Also if I get a new modem will this cause any problems with using the bt vision services.
I have a pretty basic NETGEAR router right now. I have a Zyxel modem that Centurylink sent when I signed up for my DSL service. The Zyxel modem connects to my NETGEAR router. When I play online either wireless or wired from the Netgear modem I have major connection issue. However, if I disconnect from the netgear modem and connect from the Zyxel directly to the ps3 I have zero problems.
Internet went out for 3 days straight and calling frontier about 20 times they finally gave us a new model 7500 modem to replace the previous. The linksys e1200 router which had worked perfectly fine before the new modem has decided to not allow me to connect online. Sometimes it says im connected to internet but web browser does not connect, sometimes it says no internet access. I have no idea what i am doing so im not sure if it is a modem or router issue. I have done full reboots of both and powered on correctly. plugging in the modem into ports 1-3 do not light up the modems ports lights, only port 4 seems to light up when plugged in however computers light up all the ports when hard wired to E1 - E4.i also downloaded the latest firmware update for the linksys e1200 router. All fire walls are shut off and no WEP ( we live in middle of nowhere so a key is not needed )
I'm experiencing dropping connection and can't play online games because of extreme lag. when pinging certain sites here is the results at the bottom. so very extremely high ping. then after a while like 5 mins, when i hover my mouse cursor at the network icon it says limited access and i don't have any internet connection, even powercycling doesn't work. it stays like that. when using direct connection to the modem only it works fine. but when using the wrt120n router i experience that problem either wired or wireless it stays the same. My firmware is latest, router settings default.
I have a Dell Inspiron15z Ultrabook and a Cisco Linksys Wireless N Router, WRT120N. I recently took my computer offline for a week to go on vacation. Since Ive been back I keep getting kicked offline every so often
Im having dns problems ever since PSN went back online and i cannot connect to the internet with my PS3 or log onto PSN. At first i would get dropped as soon i joined an online game, and it was running very slowly, but now it wont connect at all.
I have a E1200 Router and my ISP is Comcast. How to have the best settings to play online. I did the Static IP set up. But I am still having laggy off and on connection. I called Comcast to see what can i do. They said its problems with the router. I enter the right numbers for PS3 in the Single Port Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding. I turn on DMZ and entered the same IP Address as it is on my PS3 I dont have a problem with Resetting the whole Router and starting from scratch ?
We have installed a new Linksys WRT54GS at home. We have been successful at getting 2 PCs and 1 laptop online but we cannot get the 2nd laptop online. I've tried everything I can through the Linksys EasyLink Advisor but nothing works to give my laptop its wireless connection back again. I don't know what else to do.
I have a dlink cable modem and dlink dir-655 router. When the router is first turned on or a setting is changed any/all of the computers here can connect to the Ultima Online game server for login but within a few minutes most will not be able to. Its as if they are being refused a connection to login.owo.com (I think that is where they connect to). 1 maybe 2 computers can still connect but its fickle and can't know which 1 or 2 it will be or for how long.any computers already connected to a game server are fine its just the ones trying to login after the router has been running for a few minutes. My first assumption 2 days ago when this happened with my dlink gaming router was that the router developed a problem but now with a new router its still happening. The problem started when I re-enabled the wireless on my gaming router and when I noticed the problem I re-disabled the wireless but the problem persists. A new modem (the DIR-655) did not work...
We have a home use WRT160N router linked to a PC desktop and two wireless laptops, Yesterday bought a new I-Phone, but could not link to my network (entered the security key many times). I accidentally connected to computer fix it firm that linked to my PC and wanted a large sum to fix the problem which he said was due to large number of temp?? internet files and once removed he would change the IP address of the desktop computer? Is this diagnosis logical and can I do it on my own. The router is definetely working - both laptops access the internet and I was recently able to hook up a Samsung Blu-Ray player using the same security code I used for the I-Phone.
Often my router drops connection to all my devices. Multiple times a day. It's only for a minute or so, but it's annoying. I'm using a Linksys Wireless-N router (WRT160N) with WEP encryption. I'm running two Windows 7 laptops, LG BluRay player, Apple TV, Xbox 360 (Wired) iPhone 4, and a iPad 2. It doesn't matter if I'm browsing the web, watching Netflix, or playing a game, the connection gets lost. As we speak it happened again. I have no clue on what to do. I've reconfigured it multiple times. Firmware has been updated months ago.
I've recently replaced my router with this Belkin (F5D7230uk4) Router, (this one without the wireless reciever Whenever it's used for online gaming, either on my computer, my playstation 3, or my brothers computer the router will lose connection after about 5minutes, then return within about 30 seconds. This happens every single time without exception, and have not been able to play for longer than 10minutes on any occasion since changing the router. I've tried connecting straight to the modem and it all functions correctly with no problems, so I am certain that it is something that needs to be setup with the router. I've searched many forums and posts from people having similar problems, and followed instructions to disable router firewall, disabled UPnP and NAT etc with absolutely no success whatsoever.
I have a WRT160NV3. When more than 1 member of the family is using a device it gets really slow. For example, we have 3 laptops and a PS3. When the PS3 is being used for online play and someone gets online to watch videos, etc it is extremely slow. Is there an update to the router or do I need to upgrade?
Why I can't play online on xbox live. I'm set on going online but when I go on to play online for MW3(Modern Warfare 3) my NAT Type says strict,I can't join any of my friends games. It says to go on infintyward.com/Nat and when I do it doesn't show my model of linksys (WRT300N) i reset my xbox,my router and still nothing
I get 5-10 second dropouts in waves pretty randomly. When it happens, I get a couple at a time, and normally have to stop playing out of frustration.I have a powerline adapter hooked up to my pc to the router. That router has an apple router attached by cat5e running a second wireless network somewhere else in the house.I've tried DMZing my pc, disconnecting the apple router, nothing seems to be fixing it.Here are 3 pathpings while my computer is in DMZ, so the router shouldnt be messing with my DHCP (right?). The first one shows it while i was disconnected twice in less than a minutethink this is on my end or my ISP?
Well, I recently switched to TekSavvy internet, and it's fine, but I can't stand that my internet keeps randomly disconnecting! (All of my devices are connected wirelessly). How do I fix this? Here are some of the specsUsing TekSavvy Cable Internet 28dl/1upLinksys WRT160N routerTekSavvy modem boughtI'm not sure too, but I have DCHP and for MTU I have auto on. I think my computer has also told me once that I had same IPS on some computers as wel
I have a router WRT160N and I want to connect an AP using a wireless bridge to enhance my WIFI coverage.Which AP is recommended to use without cable together with the WRT160N?
confirm if the highest speed I can get over WiFi with WRT160N v3 is actually 270 Mbps (and not 300 Mbps as advertised), And there's one more thing - is it normal to have Signal: -51; Noise: -93, SNR: 43, Signal quality 53% if I am only 2 meters far from a router? TX power is set to 28.
I just had Comcast setup my internet and it is really fast. 30 down, 10 up, 40 ping, my connection to my computer (wireless) is very fast and my online gaming (wired) is not laggy at all.The problem lies with the connection dropping when I am online gaming. I connected directly to the modem and there's no problem at all. I connect to my Linksys EA3500 and once I start playing in an online game, I disconnect from Xbox Live and am dropped from the game... anywhere from right away until about 10-15 minutes into the game. This is the only time where my connection falters at all, otherwise it is great. But I play online a lot, and competitively, so I obviously need a stable connection.I have not had this issue with my previous ISP in New York, Time Warner and that connection was much worse. I'm thinking it must be a setting on the router that is causing this, but I can't pinpoint what. I tried automatic AND static connections from my xbox to the router. On the static connection, I even put a DMZ on it, but to no avail.
