i have a dell desktop and a dell laptop when i am using the internet on the desktop cancel appears on the screen sometimes if i click on cancel it does not crash but works other times the internet crashes. this does not happen on the laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got wireless internet in my apartment but am having trouble connecting to it. The other computers in the apartment are having no trouble. The network appears in the wireless networks list, but after I enter the network key it just loads with the "waiting for network" message until it times out. I can connect to other wireless networks. It takes a long time to connect to these other networks but eventually does, My computer is super old, but since I can connect to wireless I feel like the computer is not the issue.

After being on for about 16 hours if I login to the device all the settings appear to have been reset to default, although the access point and wireless are still working. After another few hours the internet access stops and device appears to have been reset. No power spikes or reliability problems with power. Contacted Linksys support on three different occasions and they don't have any suggestions that work. Tried a "hard reset" but problem still occurs. No firmware upgrades are available for this device.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a Linksys E2000 router and a Brother MFC-7840W wireless printer and they don't seem to want to play nice together. The set-up process was fine and I can usually print wireless without a problem, but every so often I'll try to print and my computer will say that the printer is offline. Other computers on my network also show it as offline. The printer confirms it has an IP address, but even after power cycling it won't be picked up by my machines. I've even tried a full reset of the printer and re-configured it, at which point it is able to successfully obtain an IP address, but it still shows as offline on my PCs.
The only solution I have found is to powercycle the router. This always works. Now that's not a terribly inconvenient workaround most of the time, so I've been doing that for a few months now. It obviously implicates the router as the point of failure, but wireless internet access is not affected when the printer appears to be offline, so obviously some packets are getting through normally.
I started a download to a 5508 to upgrade to 7.2.110, but the connection across a vpn is slow and taking too long. Can I cancel the download w/o corrupting the current image and/or setup?I don't see a cancel button anywhere in the gui and don't want do it unless the controller will handle an incomplete download correctly.

At the top it says: Cisco Connect Cloud/Powering Linksys Products
and below that:
Sign In If you have not yet created an account, click the 'Create Account' button in the upper right corner of the page
There is a help button, a button to create an account. There is a place where I can enter an email address and a password.
Pressing the Help button I learned that I can probably bypass this silly screen by disconnecting the internet. Is there a better way to bypass this screen and turn off Cisco Connect Cloud?

See screen shots below showing model numbers and interfaces on the AP with one radio available (All other 1262s show 2 radios as normal). Tried resetting the AP to factory default, but same result. Do I have a defective AP?

After that, the Bluetooth LED starts to flash, so I assume Windows knows what the device is.What I notice is... No Bluetooth icon appears in My Computer, no Bluetooth device shows up in Device Manager,my laptop slows down quite a lot and the worst problem of all is.. the module STOPS my laptop from connecting to my router. It just completely blocks access to my router via wireless.The laptop can still SEE the router, but as soon as it tries to connect, if fails. why doesn't the Bluetooth adapter work in the laptop? Why won't Windows pick it up and display the relevant info in Device Manager?

If I do it from across a VPN tunnel, the ports show as open according to NMAP, if I do the scan from the local subnet they show up as unknown. I'm running 8.0.4 code on this ASA.

It connects and disconnects repetitively.i have a 3mobile wireless dongle. Other laptops stay connected no problem and i am always beside the dongle with full coverage. if i click the network icon several times on the bottom right it reconnects for a few seconds again,I have discovered that if i run 'funkypool' in the background the connection generally stays, but not 100%, but 90% anyway.this may possibly be because its java and always refreshing itself i think. it doesn't matter whether or not im plugged in or using battery but i did change the controls for automatically putting the wireless to sleep mode so i doubt that unless ive done it wrong.

My internet used to work just fine, but after I reinstalled my OS a couple of months ago I started having a funny problem. My internet will randomly stop working, I'll visit facebook, check a blog, and then i'll try to check my email and the page won't load. Then my internet won't work again until I reset my computer. The weirdest part is that Windows acts there's nothing the matter. The little icon in the notification bar still says it's connected and if I click repair, windows tells me there's nothing to repair. My wife has a different laptop and she's still able to access the internet fine after I've been kicked off. I've checked for a router firmware update and it's up to date. I bought a usb wireless-n adapter thinking my laptop's adapter might be bad and that didn't work. I considering buying a new router, but I'm not confident that will solve the problem since my wife's internet is still fine and because my internet works again when I reset, so it's not like the router is blocking my IP right?

I found a driver on dell's website for a v370 bluetooth device for win vista x86, and although my bluetooth card was discovered and worked on my computer, after a restart it no longer supports connections to headsets and mice, although I am still given the option to transfer files. After a restart, the Bluetooth icon no longer appears in the taskbar, and I am not given the option to search for and connect to bluetooth devices when searching my computer for those options. I tried re-installing the driver, with no luck.

I have an SG-200-8 which connects to a stacked pair of SG500-28P switches. It is powered by PoE from the SG500. From the SG500 the port appears Up, but at the the SG200 it is disabled and nothing I do re-enables it. I know the cable is good because I had a previous netgear switch hanging off it and working, also the power gets through.I can only connect to the switch if I disable wifi and plugin a manually configured PC - DHCP doesn't get through to it from the SG500 end.I have tried a second SG200 same problem. Have disabled RSTP/ STP thinking it might to relate to the fact that a PC connected to the switch also had a wifi connection to the same LAN, but. Don't know where to go next. looks like a bug?

View 5 Replies View Relatedwe have a Cisco 2901 as a router on a stick for several vlans. Everything on the segment routes fine and accesses the internet just as they should. The 2901 connects to an ASA5505 on port 0/1. Any host connected to the ASA5505 can access the internet, but can not ping into any of the vlans off of the 2901. The strange thing is on either segement of the network I can ping all of the gateways. What is even more strange is when I run wireshark from behind the firewall going into the 2901 I can not see the packet on another wireshark instance behind the 2901. However if I start a ping for a host host behind the asa I can see the packet in wireshark on the host, which I am trying to ping, hit the gateway.
