we have several Dell machines using W7 and all of them are exhibiting the problem of not connecting to some wifi sources. The wifi appears to connect but no internet connection takes place.

I was wondering how long the conversion process takes? If I remember correctly at the 2012 networkers lab it took maybe 10 minutes while using Sup720s. The instructor mentioned that with Sup2Ts it would convert a lot faster.

I have my laptop setup to sleep when lid is closed. When it awakens the wireless connection will not automatically reconnect and I have to manually select the SSID and connect. It will also reconnect if I use the network troubleshooter. The problem does not happen if I reboot the PC or start from a power off situation. I have the latest Dell driver and I am running the DWLAN utility.

It connects and disconnects repetitively.i have a 3mobile wireless dongle. Other laptops stay connected no problem and i am always beside the dongle with full coverage. if i click the network icon several times on the bottom right it reconnects for a few seconds again,I have discovered that if i run 'funkypool' in the background the connection generally stays, but not 100%, but 90% anyway.this may possibly be because its java and always refreshing itself i think. it doesn't matter whether or not im plugged in or using battery but i did change the controls for automatically putting the wireless to sleep mode so i doubt that unless ive done it wrong.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client v2.3.0254 and ever since i upgraded my laptop from the Lenovo T420 to the Lenovo T430 the time it takes to connect via VPN has increased drastically. Connecting via VPN on my Lenovo T420 would take as little as 5 seconds to authenticate and connect while connecting with my T430 is now taking at minimum of 5 minutes, sometimes upwards of 15 minutes only to report back an error!
The screen the AnyConnect VPN Client seems to hang on is "Establishing VPN - Initiating Connection..."
The server is enforcing that McAffee is installed and up to date, however i have already made sure that my McAffee install is valid and up to date.
I have already taken these steps to try to correct the issue: Re installed Cisco AnyConnect VPN ClientRe installed & updated virus definitions for McAffeeRan CheckDisk on my primary OS partitionRan RAM validation utility to verify no bad sectors I have attached a screenshot of the error log from AnyConnect as well as the log html file.
I recently got wireless internet in my apartment but am having trouble connecting to it. The other computers in the apartment are having no trouble. The network appears in the wireless networks list, but after I enter the network key it just loads with the "waiting for network" message until it times out. I can connect to other wireless networks. It takes a long time to connect to these other networks but eventually does, My computer is super old, but since I can connect to wireless I feel like the computer is not the issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have only seen this problem with several video conferences from one location. Currently there is only one T1 connection from our HQ to remote location. When two conference calls are set to use 256Kbps connection to come back to the main HQ, after an hour or so the T1 connection would drop. What I mean about drop is that the route on the 2911 will disappear. I have to wait about 10 minutes for the connection to come back up or I have to reboot the router for the connection to appear again. There are no interface drops on the serial connections or ethernet connections.

This never used to happen but has been occurring for about 5-6 months without an end in sight. The problem is that it takes ages to connect to a network and that networks are not joined automatically. Basically, whenever I open my laptop from sleep, I will see the little blue rotating symbol in the bottom right hand of the screen and it stays there for 2-3 minutes (usually) before it connects. Windows usually pops up an icon which says 'it is taking longer than usual to connect to the network' and it seems to often successfully connect when the connection attempt times out.
Steps I have taken to fix the issue:
- Update the network driver (it is up to date).- Never allow the system to turn off the wireless network adapter (via device manager).- Check that the network has 'join automatically' ticked in the settings.
Problem: I bought my wife and I each a Gateway NV54 laptop this past year. While both of our laptops can acquire a network connection, she is able to browse the internet almost immediately, while my computer takes 30 seconds to a minute longer to connect to the same network, and then can take up to 3 minutes before any web browser recognizes the connection. This happens on every connection I make (school, work, home, etc.)Steps I have taken:
-Updated the driver for my wireless adaptor (Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter), and nothing changed.
-Windows 7 service pack (6.1)
-Downloaded AVG, Spybot, Advanced System Care, and IObit Security and run scans in all 4 at least 3 times a week.
-Cleaned up hard drive files so that each of my two hard drives is less than 70% full.
-Removed superfluous internet connections and prioritized the important connections I use regularly.
I have a WRK54G v2 connected to a Ubee cable modem, and when my computer, connected with wifi or ethernet, tries to play a Youtube video, the actual webpage loads fine but the spinning dots in the player remain for several minutes before the video starts to load. If the video has to buffer again in the middle of playback, it also takes several minutes to start again. When the computer is connected directly to the cable modem, everything works fine. Youtube is the only site I am having an issue with, other video streaming sites like Vimeo work fine.

I always find OdHost.exe taking almost all the CPU and have to kill it to get things running. This can't be normal and has not been until recently. After being on for about 16 hours if I login to the device all the settings appear to have been reset to default, although the access point and wireless are still working. After another few hours the internet access stops and device appears to have been reset. No power spikes or reliability problems with power. Contacted Linksys support on three different occasions and they don't have any suggestions that work. Tried a "hard reset" but problem still occurs. No firmware upgrades are available for this device.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a Linksys E2000 router and a Brother MFC-7840W wireless printer and they don't seem to want to play nice together. The set-up process was fine and I can usually print wireless without a problem, but every so often I'll try to print and my computer will say that the printer is offline. Other computers on my network also show it as offline. The printer confirms it has an IP address, but even after power cycling it won't be picked up by my machines. I've even tried a full reset of the printer and re-configured it, at which point it is able to successfully obtain an IP address, but it still shows as offline on my PCs.
The only solution I have found is to powercycle the router. This always works. Now that's not a terribly inconvenient workaround most of the time, so I've been doing that for a few months now. It obviously implicates the router as the point of failure, but wireless internet access is not affected when the printer appears to be offline, so obviously some packets are getting through normally.
My hp laptop will no longer connect to the internet thru both a wifi connection or cable connection. I've also tried to do a system restore to an earlier date and it will not let mme do this either
