Cisco WAN :: 2911 / Multiple Video Conferencing Calls Takes Down T1 Connection

Jan 8, 2012

I have only seen this problem with several video conferences from one location.  Currently there is only one T1 connection from our HQ to remote location.  When two conference calls are set to use 256Kbps connection to come back to the main HQ, after an hour or so the T1 connection would drop.  What I mean about drop is that the route on the 2911 will disappear.  I have to wait about 10 minutes for the connection to come back up or I have to reboot the router for the connection to appear again.  There are no interface drops on the serial connections or ethernet connections.
HQ - 2911
Remote - 1821
 2911 running config:
 Current configuration : 3529 bytes
version 15.0

Best Way To Set Up Video Conferencing?

Oct 23, 2011

I'm trying to put together the best scenario for a large business to set up videoconferencing between users within the states and overseas. From my understanding, the company would have to set up a MCU to manage multiple audiovisual sessions. Then implement an SIP software such as Asterisk, with a registrar server to maintain a database with information about the network addresses of each user on the domain. The diagram in my head is something like this:

Cisco VPN :: Connection Takes 10 Minutes For AnyConnect VPN Client V2.3

Apr 28, 2013

I am using Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client v2.3.0254 and ever since i upgraded my laptop from the Lenovo T420 to the Lenovo T430 the time it takes to connect via VPN has increased drastically. Connecting via VPN on my Lenovo T420 would take as little as 5 seconds to authenticate and connect while connecting with my T430 is now taking at minimum of 5 minutes, sometimes upwards of 15 minutes only to report back an error!
The screen the AnyConnect VPN Client seems to hang on is "Establishing VPN - Initiating Connection..."
The server is enforcing that McAffee is installed and up to date, however i have already made sure that my McAffee install is valid and up to date.
I have already taken these steps to try to correct the issue: Re installed Cisco AnyConnect VPN ClientRe installed & updated virus definitions for McAffeeRan CheckDisk on my primary OS partitionRan RAM validation utility to verify no bad sectors  I have attached a screenshot of the error log from AnyConnect as well as the log html file.

Belkin Connection Lost During Phone Calls

Jan 30, 2013

About 2 years ago I bought my first laptop and the person I was with recommended my purchasing of a Belkin router. I bought the router, it worked great until this past summer when suddenly whenever somebody called my house phone, my connection was dropped. I was angry cause naturally I have those family members that want to call and talk on the phone with my mother for hours. Eventually I figured out I could work about the problem by hooking the Ethernet cord on my Westel directly to my laptop. Its a temporary fix though in my opinion because this requires me having to sit on the floor against my bed room door and this isn't comfortable, not to mention its also confining, I miss walking around the house with my laptop. Anyway this past weekend I decided to try buying a new Belking N300. This however didn't solve the problem, I still got my signal dropped whenever somebody called the house.

Cisco VPN :: Multiple L2L Setup On 2911 / 871 Routers?

Dec 6, 2011

I have two cisco routers (Cisco 2911 and 871) that I'm trying to establish a L2L VPN  with. Each have a VPN configured to our cooperate office that is up and working. I'm now trying  to establish a site to site VPN from both remote offices. I have my crypto  maps, NoNats, and interesting traffic set up however, I do not even see  phase one come up.
I've attached each config. Most of my site to site  experience is on PIX's and ASA so I'm curious if there is something else I  need to do on my outside interface to allow multiple VPN's?

Cisco WAN :: 2911 With Multiple Internet Connections?

Jun 20, 2012

We are about to install a cisco 2911 router to replace a linux based router.
The Cisco will have 5 gig ports, 4 ports connected to DSL modems each modem connected to a different ISP, and the last port connected to a Cisco LAN switch.
802.1q will be used on the internal router port to split the LAN segments up into VLAN's as the building contains lots of different businesses.
Each customer in the building has there own servers and set of public IP addresses assigned e.g
Customer A - ISP 1      uses NAT'd to Vlan 5 port 25 (SMTP)
Customer B - ISP 2     uses NAT'd to Vlan 6 port 25 (SMTP)
and so on
The outbound traffic also needs to go out of the correct DSL line which ever has been assigned to that customer.
Am i right in thinking the only way to do this will be to use "Route Maps" ??
(IP addresses above are made up, or at least not ours)

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2911 / 2960S - Multiple VLANs With Different Internet Access

Feb 17, 2013

We need to give differentiated internet access to three VLANs. Each one of this VLANs is used for totally different purposes, so traffic between the VLANs is not allowed. Each VLAN has its own internet access provided for the data center using one fast ethernet connection.

We're thinking about using cisco 2911 for Internet access, VPN and firewall. I suppose that best option for VLANs is using Catalyst 2960S or a swithing module for the 2911, but these two options are too expensive for us. We're thinking about using swtiches from the SB series (maybe a SG-200).

We're totaly newbies to VLANs so we have many doubts. This are our questions:

1) The 2911 has three on board ethernet interfaces; we have three VLANs and three internet connections, so we need to use HWICs to get three more ethernet ports. That's right?
2) We need three HWICs or there is some kind of HWIC with more that one ethernet interface?
3) The routing solution is to assign static routes in the 2911 for each interface connected to a VLAN through a 2911's interface connected to internet?
4) Simply connecting three different router interfaces with three different switch ports, each one of them assigned to one of the three different VLAN, are we going to get internet access for all devices in those VLANs? or do we need to configure something else like trunking, VSIs...?
5) Can we achieve our goals using the SG-200 switch?
6) We have the chance to use older routers, is this possible? We're specially interested in knowing if a 1841 or a 2801 router could be used for this setup.
7) This is not a production environment so we can use refurbished equipment.

Cisco VPN :: 2911 Multiple Site-to-site VPNs With Resilience - Possibilities?

Jan 24, 2013

[code] Site-to-site VPNs in place between Site A and Site B and between each site to the DC. Site A and Site B have Cisco 2911 routers, there are ASA’s at the DC. The existing Site-to-site VPNs carry data and voice traffic between the sites (though voice and data is on separate VLANs in separate subnets)
ISP1 currently used for the existing circuits at Sites A and B but we have experienced issues with them recently which has disrupted service. So new circuits are to be installed at each site with ISP2. (See basic diagram attached which shows current set-up with intention to get new circuits via ISP2 installed)
We have 3 ports on our Cisco 2911 routers with 2 ports already in use for the existing connections (1 for the LAN and 1 for the WAN connection to ISP1) Can we simply use the 3rd port for the connection to ISP2 or would it be far more advisable to use a 2nd router (for redundancy, etc)
Would it be feasible to have a set-up where we have e.g. voice traffic go over a site-to-site VPN via ISP1 and data traffic go via site-to-site VPN via ISP2 but each can take over from the other in the event of a failure?

D-Link DIR-655 :: Intermittent Internet Connection Loss And Video Streaming Stopped?

Jan 10, 2012

I am having wireless connection/internet issues that are irritating me to the core!!! I have called tech support 4 times now, and I still can't get everything to play nice...I have the 655 set up as a wireless router to a Windows 7 laptop, one iPad, two iTouches, and one N3DS. I can't find a setting that will work with all devices. Here are the senarios...

1) Settings: Wireless enabled, 802.11n only, Auto Scan off-channel set to 1, Best Transmission rate, Channel Width Auto 20/40, Visible, Auto WPA Mode with AES Cipher and a pre-share key. This yields fantastic results with my laptop, it can stream video for entire episodes, and I have no problems with loading webpages in either IE or Firefox. However, it does not support the kids iTouches or N3DS.

2) Changed the above to mixed 802.11n/g AND ALSO tried 802.11 only: iTouches work and can connect to the internet, but laptop doesn't like it. I get "Problem loading webpage" every other time I access and website, and streaming stop every 5-6 minutes. Bars indicate wireless signal is strong, but intermittently get that yellow triangle.

Cisco VPN :: H323 Calls Dropping Over VPN?

Feb 9, 2011

We have 2 h323 IP phones (non cisco) that connect to an IP PBX via a VPN connection using PIX 5505's at each end.  The VPN seems to work fine and the phones can be used normally with good call quality, display, status...The problem is that when talking on the phones for any extended period of time, the phone reboots, drops the call and then restarts automatically.  This problem usually happens on phone calls lasting 20 minutes or more but has happened on calls as short as 15 minutes.  I have also made calls which have gone 45 minutes before the reboot.  I have removed everything from the network hosting the remote IP phones except for a single phone and the problem still occurs.  It is not a POE Issue as the phones can use a power brick and it still happens.  The same phones work perfectly on-site when not using the VPN.Someone has mentioned that I should adjust the UDP Timout Timers of the VPN.  I don't see any UDP timers and am at a complete loss on what is causing this.  The data traffic does not seem to get dropped when connected accross the VPN for hours at a time.
