what will be the work around on this configuration.currently we have a Lease Line connection on serial interfaceISP <=SERIAL=>Router 2911<=ACCESS MODE=>Firewall(DATA DHCP SERVER located here, policy implemented here)<=TRUNK MODE=>CORE Switch(VLAN Assignment is here)<=TRUNK MODE=>ACCESS Switch(DATA and VOICE passess thru each ports)i am thinking to create a DHCP pool on the router to where my firewall should point to and from the DHCP pool it will point the internal network going to public network.

I've got a 2911 with a primary ethernet link to the ISP, with BGP running over it. There's also an ADSL module in it, which will connect into the same ISP AS. how do i configure BGP over the ADSL so that it sits there doing nothing until the primary link fails? Do i need to setup a new instance of BGP with a different AS on the router or can it sit in the same AS as the primary link?

Suppose a broadcasted IP packet reaches one of the integrated RJ-45 ports on a 2911 ISR G2, will it be possible to configure the router so that the other integrated RJ-45 ports, ESM/EHWIC modules installed on the router, as well as the MGF also recieve the packet? Technically, the router should act similar to a switch with the SRE behaving similar to a seperate machine connected via the MGF and other external machine connected to the ports of the router to recieve the broadcasted packet.
Also, if SNMP traps were generated from the router,Will it be possible to send the traps from the router via the MGF to the SRE installed on the router?

I have a Cisco 2911 router that I will like to use it for setting up a site to site VPN but the router does not support VPN commands. When I issue crypto isakmp command, it says command no recognized. When I issue ipsec transform-set command, it says command not recognized. The IOS running on my router is c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-2.T1.bin. Also see the output of my show licences features command: [code]

I want to configure my router to use 2 ADSL lines each with a dialer and a modem in RFC2684 mode. I have a 2821 (IOS 12.4) with an HWIC-4ESW.
My network topology is like this :
ADSL Modem 1 (RFC2684) --
(Fa0/0/0)
Router -- (Gi0/1) MyLAN
(Fa0/0/1)
ADSL Modem 2 (RFC2684) --/
1. I configure my DSL Modem in RFC 2684. The first use 172.16.0.2/29 and the second 172.16.0.3/29. I connect this devices to Fa0/0/0 and Fa0/0/1.
2. I configure Vlan1 to use the network configured on my modem :
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.16.0.1 255.255.255.248
3. I try to ping my devices :
#ping 172.16.0.2
Type escape sequence to abort.

I have one router 2911 with the following image c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M4.bin I have two IPS on this routers and I tried to configure the IP SLA on this and I`m not able to do it and I don´t know why. I can configure almost everything but not the IP SLA command.this is the config:

I need to permit the connection from outside to inside in a 2911 Cisco router, only from an Public IP Address (suppose 1.1.1.1) to some local private IPs.
I have one question:
Using the command:
ip nat inside source static tcp <local ip> <port> <global ip> <port>
The "global IP" can be the Public IP from where the connection starts (in this case 1.1.1.1)? or it must be the Public IP assigned the the Router interface connected to the Public Network.

Were bringing up a new site shortly and I'm trying to configure Serial0/0/0 which will be connected to an MPLS over 1.5m T1 line. I am basically doing a simular configuration as other sites where one of the ethernet interfaces is handed off from a fiber optic wan, but a T1 MPLS is connected to a WIC card and this provides a redundant path (though slower) in case of a fiber cut or equipment failure. This should be pretty straightforward but it appears as if I have no serial interface on this router. Card is in and everything, it is a VMIC-3-1MFT-T1/E1 in EHWIC 0.

I have a Netgear DG834G v3 ADSL router which I have had since early-2007.
When I work from home I connect to office networks on a Win7 machine via a Rackspace-provided VPN using Cisco System VPN Client 5. It works well, except for one issue that is costing me time every working day.
I get intermittently disconnected from the VPN, without any warning or apparent reason.
Since I bought the router 5-6 years ago I have had no need to update firmware, so other than ISP configuration I have had no need to change the router at all and I can say it's worked well for me.
What would be the reason for my VPN connection dropping? Is this an ISP issue (my ISP is Carphone Warehouse/TalkTalk) that I have to take up with them or is it more likely a hardware problem with my router or a VPN configuration issue?
My instincts are to not look into VPN config at the moment as I know a colleague who uses the same VPN through a different router and ISP can stay connected for hours, even overnight.

Lately I encountered random Internet connection issues?My router is a Netgear Wireless ADSL Firewall Modem Router DG834 (Firmware V1.05.0) and my ISP, isn't the most reliable regarding bandwidth... All clients (max 3 at the same time) connect wireless.The problem is that the last few weeks my connections is very unstable, all clients lose the internet connection until you restart the router manually.I can't even connect to the webinterface (192.168.0.1), during the downtimes.

having some issues with a configuration using a Dialer interface. The interface comes up and the VPN tunnel comes up, but cannot access any network resources or the Internet.
The things that concern me most are my access lists as I have the static IP address that we are assigned via PPPOE - the IP never changes, but not sure if I can define it in the ACL or if I should be using an ANY tag.
Note: I've changed some IPs and username for security reasons.

Im just wondering if it would be possible to emulate an adsl connection on a server. What i mean by this is if we were testing a vpn or something they would have to connect through this box on the network and act as if it were a ppoe connection. I've just started styding for CCNA. Bought a router 871W recently and spent two days straight trying to configure internet connection with no luck! I use console port to do the configs and SDM/CCP. How to do simple internet connection configs. I googled everything but it's still confusing. I can't assing any IP to FA ports 0 - 3. I used VLAN instead. But all tutorials use FA0 and when I try to assign an IP to FA0 it gives me some L2 can't be assigned or something... :/ And I'm also confused what IP address should I use for WAN. I plugged the cable from Modem to PC's LAN port and wrote down some IP addresses which I think I'll have to use to configure the router for internet connection. And here they are:
ISP IP: 76.114.54.255
SUBNET: 255.255.248.0
GATEWAY: 76.114.48.1

The aDSL circuit is up and connected and I can reach the internet, however not all sites on the internet are reachable. This is occurring on two seperate 887VA’s and the circuit has been tested with a netgear router and no issues occur. The router has been tried on 5 different ADSL connections and the same problem occurs although more websites can be reached on a home broadband connection (ADSL2+ Annex A) as opposed to the problem being more severe on an ADSL2+ Annex M circuit. The problem seems to affect websites that are full of adverts more than sites that have single domain landing pages.
The sites that I cannot reach are pingable. This happens on multiple machines behind the router. The same config is used on an cisco 877-M router with no issues.

We have an ADSL2+ line from a WIC in a 1841, everything has been fine for the last few years and then the last few months the connection going down. When checking the interfaces the ATM0/0/0 is up up and the same for the dialer interface we are using, they are both up/up, but this still needs a reload of the router to be functional again, shutting the interfaces does not bring the connection back up.
I am not an expert on ADSL lines, I have never really had a problem with anything previously. The router was running Netflow to a network monitor wondering if this or logging was causing an issue with entries in the buffer??
Here is an output of show dsl int, would change the firmware, it has been fine all this time before though we are running IOS 12.4(24)T1 advseck9-m, as far as I can seen from our ISP the config for ADSL is all correct. [Code]
