DSL-2640U / Use Same Router For ADSL Connection With Any Converter / Connector
May 1, 2012
I have a 'DSL-2640U WIRELESS G ADSL2+ 4-PORT ROUTER'.I was using a DSL connection earlier, now I have moved to a ADSL connection. And I have been told by the service provider to get a different router with an ADSL input port. Can I use the same router for the ADSL connection using any converter or connector.
I have a wireless ADSL, D-Link 2640U. I was doing some configuration on it and immediately the control panel disappeared. I am trying to log in it is refusing. I have try to reset, it is not resetting. Network is working, but no internet because I have not yet configured it for the internet. When i use it's cd, it reaches to the point of detecting it and telling me that "The router is off or a cable is not connected" Though it is on and the cable is fine i have tested it in different routers it works well!
I cannot utilize my Ethernet connection when my Dell Latitude D630 is connected to a docking station. I have tried this on two different docking stations. I also have another Dell laptop that I have used in the one of the same docking stations and the ethernet connection is fine. I'm looking for assistance to troubleshoot this (even just determining if I can replace the connector and how I determine what type I need)
i have internet connection to my PC (windows 7) by wimax internet connection.that connect by usb to my pc. (and check the sharing option on this connection)then i need to share internet on my pc on wifi by using D-link2640u router,i connect my pc to D-link router by rj-45 cable.and setup wifi network but this wifi network did not have internet connection.
Can I use 3G dongle with wifi router using USB to RJ 45 converter, how to config the same...Also, using same converter; can I convert/share /use my external USB storage device over wifi router...
what will be the work around on this configuration.currently we have a Lease Line connection on serial interfaceISP <=SERIAL=>Router 2911<=ACCESS MODE=>Firewall(DATA DHCP SERVER located here, policy implemented here)<=TRUNK MODE=>CORE Switch(VLAN Assignment is here)<=TRUNK MODE=>ACCESS Switch(DATA and VOICE passess thru each ports)i am thinking to create a DHCP pool on the router to where my firewall should point to and from the DHCP pool it will point the internal network going to public network.
On the WAN port, there are 4 pins that are traced to the internal serial traces. Where can we get the cable that will fit into the WAN RJ-45 port and have a serial connector on the back end. It may be called a Cisco Debug Adapter, but we haven't been able to find?
i have a problem with my adsl line connected on a HWIC-ADSL on router 2901 it was working good until yesterday the atm interface is down but the interface dialer is up .i connected this line into home adsl modem and the line is working good?
I Got a new ADSL connection,They provided a ADSL Modem. To connect tot he ADSl i have to enter the username/password in the PC....in this case how can i make this ADSL connection to wireless? coz Me and my friend want to use the same connection.
I have a 3G USB modem connected to my desktop and I would like to share the internet connection to other devices wirelessly using the WAG120n ADSL router. How do I set up the IP's manually on the router and my PC to do this? And which other setting do I need to set?
I have this adsl wireless router but my internet connection only has RJ45 directly connected to my PC. My questions is how can I use my ADSL wireless router with this kind of internet connection.. because I really want to make my connection wireless..
I have a Netgear DG834G v3 ADSL router which I have had since early-2007.
When I work from home I connect to office networks on a Win7 machine via a Rackspace-provided VPN using Cisco System VPN Client 5. It works well, except for one issue that is costing me time every working day.
I get intermittently disconnected from the VPN, without any warning or apparent reason.
Since I bought the router 5-6 years ago I have had no need to update firmware, so other than ISP configuration I have had no need to change the router at all and I can say it's worked well for me.
What would be the reason for my VPN connection dropping? Is this an ISP issue (my ISP is Carphone Warehouse/TalkTalk) that I have to take up with them or is it more likely a hardware problem with my router or a VPN configuration issue?
My instincts are to not look into VPN config at the moment as I know a colleague who uses the same VPN through a different router and ISP can stay connected for hours, even overnight.
Lately I encountered random Internet connection issues? My router is a Netgear Wireless ADSL Firewall Modem Router DG834 (Firmware V1.05.0) and my ISP, isn't the most reliable regarding bandwidth... All clients (max 3 at the same time) connect wireless. The problem is that the last few weeks my connections is very unstable, all clients lose the internet connection until you restart the router manually.I can't even connect to the webinterface (192.168.0.1), during the downtimes.
I have a laptop having wifi & a desktop .I have purchased a "D-link WIRELESS N 150 USB ADAPTER" for desktop.some time ago my both pc are connected by LAN cable..but now i want to connect them via wireless..
I just need to add new connectors and I'm good to go. The PCs have cabinets with Ethernet sockets in them and these will also need re-wiring with a RJ45 jack then a faceplate mounting as they are totally bare at the minute. Also, I think I need to learn this as a whole, it will become a regular thing, do I need the following tools to do the basics of cabling ?RJ45 Network Crimp Tool 10 Boots & Ends Crimping Kit Play.com - Buy RJ45 Network Crimp Tool 10 Boots & Ends Crimping Kit online at Play.com and read reviews. I have a long 2 pair cat 5 cable which I want to use to connect a ADSL modem to my desktop (located in a different room). I took the cable to few local computer dealers but none of them could connect an RJ-45 connector to it. They can only connect a 4 pair cat 5 cable. Connect a 2 pair cat 5 Ethernet cable to a RJ-45 connector. Kindly use simple language. I have attached an image of the cable for your reference. [URL]
I'm facing the following doubt regarding the AC Power Connector on the 1522 AP.We are powering up the AP through PoE, so the AC Power Connector is not used.BUT,do i have to seal/protect the connector or leave it as is?
I have a router 3600 with a power connector kind RPS but I don't have a RPS system, Do it exist a kind of wire that I can connect directly from my router to AC?
Trying to replace 3Com Superstack II Switches (3C16980) with 100Base-FX Modules (3C16970) with a Cisco solution. Existing Fiber connector in Network closet on both ends is an SC connector (picture attached). What Modules, adapter cables do I need to connect to an SRW2048 switch at one end an SRW2024 switch at the other? Will this solution provide a Gigabit connection over the Fiber ?
I am looking at using SRW2048-K9-NA with MGBSX1 module at one closet and SRW2024-K9-NA with MGBSX1 module in the other closet at the other end of the Fiber cable.
I found an adapter cable that will convert an SC male to an LC Male and it looks like it will work but I have no experience with fiber. I attached a picture of this adapter as well. It is listed on line as - 1ft Fiber Optic Adapter Cable LC (Male) to SC (Female) Multimode 62.5/125 Duplex
As part of a DC deploy, aI have to install 2 x ASA5580. My surprise was the missing connection bolts (or place) on the chassis for the grounding cable. All othes equipments (ASR, 6500, Nexus 7K) have a grounding connection on their chassis.
The Installation manual alerts and requests a good gorundid for it. But where should I put it??Note that the rack where it's installed on is already grounded.
Im just wondering if it would be possible to emulate an adsl connection on a server. What i mean by this is if we were testing a vpn or something they would have to connect through this box on the network and act as if it were a ppoe connection. Has any ever done anything of a similar nature? Is it possible at all?
i have a cisco switch CISCO Catalyst 2960S 48 GigE, 4 x SFP LAN Base WS-C2960S-48TS-L for this i need a 1GB GBIC Connector. need right GBIC connector module and ather details
I am using my ADSL Internet Connection especially for downloading files those past few months.I have even purchased an account at filesonic. However, the speed remain the same except that there are no waiting period and I can download multiple files at the same time. What are the tips for increasing downloading time? I am now using the latest 5.0 Firefox and Windows 7 and using or not using the download them all add-ons does not add much to the download time.
What about the telephone line cable? The position of the beetel modem, does that play a role in speed limit? Are there some hardware equipment that can cause a subsequent increase in download speed?
I have been having a weird connection issue for a week or so.The problem is at the first time i boot up my modem it simply cant connect.DSL Line LED keeps blinking- handshaking and training as it says in modem config page. After maybe 5 minutes or 2 hours, totally random. It picks up the connection, i can use it for hours until it randomly drops down once again.Ive contacted my ISP and they came over two times, they state the line quality is not suitable for my connection speed and it will be solved if i drop down my connection speed.Doing that is a painful process cause there is no other speed/quota package suitable for me, so i wanted to ask you people about it before i take action.
My modem is a Dynalink RTA1320 and i tried with another modem, tried mine in a friends house.Plus i went to the place where the cable enters my house and tried over there too, it didnt work as it should pick up in about 20 seconds. Here are stats my modem shows in the config page.[CODE]
