Jan 23, 2012We currently have a main network running through a static broadband connecting using a Cisco 1700 ADSL router, everything is working fine locally.
We are looking to rent some space in an office nearby so im going to order another business adsl connection with static IP for this site and i currently have a spare 1800 router.My question is can the cisco routers connect up like a VPN connection so both sites work together and will the connection remain online constantly so from the remote office we can access all our servers from the main network?
Also how does the IP addressing work on 2 sites. The main network uses 10.120.21.x and DHCP is assigned from a cisco router. Does the remote network assign from the same DHCP server or would the remote sites cisco router need to be setup to give out DHCP to local machines. If so what would be the best IP setup to use.

Jul 26, 2011I have an old modem Cisco 1700 with ADSL as backup connection. I have configured PPPoA, the sync is OK and connection is UP. I get Wan IP et Gateway, (routes automatically added). I have added NAT and routes but impossible to go out.I try to ping an external IP but no response.

Apr 14, 2012Lately I encountered random Internet connection issues?My router is a Netgear Wireless ADSL Firewall Modem Router DG834 (Firmware V1.05.0) and my ISP, isn't the most reliable regarding bandwidth... All clients (max 3 at the same time) connect wireless.The problem is that the last few weeks my connections is very unstable, all clients lose the internet connection until you restart the router manually.I can't even connect to the webinterface (192.168.0.1), during the downtimes.

Apr 2, 2012configuring my new Cisco 881 Router with my existing ADSL modem.At the moment, i am connecting to the internet using tp-link modem router, all PPPoE/DHCP/Wireless is set up there...and that connect to the switch where all my computer connected to.

Now for some reason, my TP-LINK modem doesn't work with my ISP, whereas the modem provided by my ISP works. If I wish I could get the basic modem provided by my ISP which contains one RJ11 port and one Ethernet port.
So can I link both the modems? I mean will this configuration work: Connect telephone cable to basic modem provided by ISP. And then connect the Ethernet port of basic modem to the Ethernet port of TP-link modem. And then connect remaining Ethernet ports to PC and laptop and simultaneously use WIFI.
Will it work or should I have to replace my TP-Link Modem+Router?

I am connected to the internet via a non TP=Llink ADSL2 modem/router supplied by my ISP.I was using my TL-MR3220 as a 3G modem but no longer need it for that purpose. I was wondering whether I can now use my TL-MR3220 for two other purposes: as an additional wireless access point and as a means of linking equipment (i.e. printers) to the home network . i have tried connecting the ADSL2 modem/router to the TL-MR3220 via an ethernet cable (one of the 4 LAN ports on the ADSL modem/router to the blue WAN port on the TL-MR3220) but I can get no internet connection through the TL-MR3220.Is this normal i.e. something that the TL-MR3220 is not designed to do, or am I just using the wrong settings ? I have tried a whole range of different settings but none seem to work.

Feb 19, 2012We got a 1921 router that works fine. We ordered Verizon Businss One Static IP ADSL. It came with a Westell Modem that we configured in bridge mode. When we do a test by assigning a static IP to our laptop then hook it up to the Westell it works fine. We can browse the web. Then when we assign a static IP to the Ethernet on our 1921 then connect it to the Westell it doesn't work. We can't ping out from the router to for example 4.2.2.2. From the router we can't even ping the default gateway (on Verizon's side).
