I am trying to set up ADSL and WiFi in a country home. I have bought a DLink DSL-2640 modem-router for this. The device is connected to the ADSL, everything works fine. The device has a WiFi AP capability - I have set up the WiFi and I am accessing the network from 2 different iPads, 2 PCs and an Android phone. After a few hours of work I begin to notice that one of the iPads is taking to long to load pages - it even can't load the router's web interface. This goes on for 5-10 minutes or so, then it passes away. Same stuff happens to Android, but rarer. PC has this problem occasionally also, but rarest of all.
I am assuming that this is a problem of the device - ADSL and WiFi might be too much for it. I got a dedicated WiFi router (TP-Link WR740N), connected it to the DLink and turned off WiFi on the D-Link.
Same stuff happens. After a while the Internet stops responding - I can't load the router's web interface. Goes on for 2-10 minutes and passes. WiFi is functional, I can disconnect and connect a device, device obtains an address through DHCP.
I updated both devices to the latest official firmware. I tried switching WiFi channels, switched the router to g-only mode. EM interference is very unlikely since it's a country home and there are no wifi networks around.
Today I set up a home network:Cable router plugged in to......Homeplug network, (D-Link DHP-307AV/B 200 MBPS PowerLine Homeplugs) plugged in to a LAN port of......a spare adsl router configured as per here: Connecting Additional Routers | Tech Support Forum...with two desktop machines plugged into the LAN ports of the ADSL router. Both of the desktops have got similar specs, are equi-distant from the ADSL router, and are both connected using Ethernet, not wireless. One of them gets a 9MB/sec ADSL [URL]download, the other can't even bring the webpage up and times out if you ask Google to do a search.Taking out the adsl router and plugging the desktop straight into the homeplug gets a network speed of ~13MB/sec on [URL].Plugging a computer directly into the cable modem gives network speeds of ~40MB/sec on [URL] How can I improve on this, and have it so that both machines can access the Interwebnet at a decent bandwidth?
Currently, I have 2 Apple Airport Extremes, and 1 Wireless Netgear ADSL Router. The 2 AAEs are connected separately to the router, and this allows us to get coverage in most part of the house (it's a large house with concrete and granite walls). I also have a HP Officejet 8500 'wireless printer' that is wired to the router as you can only print to the printer when it's in standby with a physical connection to the router (that's a different story). So my goal is to replace everything as the router is slowly dying and as a result of this, I want to be able to access the Internet wirelessly throughout the house, and be able to print from any where in the house without anything connected via cables. And as a bonus, I would like the Internet to be accessible 100 yards/metres down the garden (workshop is there). Basically, blanket coverage!
I am looking to purchase an ADSL wireless modem router combo which will be mainly used for net browsing, online gaming (ps3) and skype. It has been suggested by the IT tech we use that I a get dual band n wireless gigabit modem/router but my limited knowledge and the confusion created by reading multiple contracting reviews of products is sending me a bit loopy.
I have a problem connecting wifi router(airlive wt-2000r) to my ADSL modem(webstar epc2203ed2.0) using utp patch cable. When my PC is connected straight to the ADSL modem everything works like charm. But when I connect modem with wan port on the router and router with my PC I get no internet access. The network shows as unidentified network and win7 troubleshooter says: Default gateway not available. Connecting them two devices seems pretty simple and I dont think I am doing anything wrong so what could be the problem?
configuring my new Cisco 881 Router with my existing ADSL modem. At the moment, i am connecting to the internet using tp-link modem router, all PPPoE/DHCP/Wireless is set up there...and that connect to the switch where all my computer connected to.
Now i want to connect this new Cisco Router to it to basically do the firewall/filtering/dhcp...leave the authentication thing on my Modem. Can i get a head start what to configure here on the cisco? since it does not work as easily as other Router where I can just plug a cable from modem LAN to Router LAN.
Modem/router mac address changer .. i have globe wimax bm622i model, that needs to be change its mac address, hardly to find a right software, so i decide to manually config and do it by ms-dos commands, any related command for dos to change mac address of globe-wimax-bm622i-model.
I'm expanding my home network and the adsl modem router supplied by my ISP has just 1 RJ-45 port and 1 usb port (and an RJ-11 for the Internet). I have zeroed in on TP-Link TD-W8901G having 4 RJ-45 ports, 1 USB port, 1 RJ-11 port and also it is a wireless router. Currently I would be connecting the above modem router to my desktop running Linux and using the same ISP with ADSL. Considering a future scenario where I may decide to use another way to connect to the Internet like maybe 3G or Cable, etc (with their separate modems) I was wondering if my same modem router (TD-W8901G) could be used as a standalone router for connecting the devices on my home network. Basically, what I want to know is whether this modem router would be able to share an Internet connection from some other source, other than the one provided through its own RJ-11 (ADSL) source?
I've a Shiro DSL805E Modem and to connect to multiple computers, I connected an Encore 5 Port Switch. Now I got laptop and thought of getting a wireless network, so I bought TP-Link TL-MR3420 Wireless Router and connected it to the one of the wires from the Encore Switch. But I'm unable to access the internet through TP-Link Router but the internet works fine for the computers which are directly connected to switch. how to do ip settings for TP-Link Router. But when I connect router directly to modem by bypassing switch, it works fine but not via switch. I have some restrictions due to which I have to strictly following this sort of connection: Modem -Switch - Router

I am connected to the internet via a non TP=Llink ADSL2 modem/router supplied by my ISP.I was using my TL-MR3220 as a 3G modem but no longer need it for that purpose. I was wondering whether I can now use my TL-MR3220 for two other purposes: as an additional wireless access point and as a means of linking equipment (i.e. printers) to the home network . i have tried connecting the ADSL2 modem/router to the TL-MR3220 via an ethernet cable (one of the 4 LAN ports on the ADSL modem/router to the blue WAN port on the TL-MR3220) but I can get no internet connection through the TL-MR3220.Is this normal i.e. something that the TL-MR3220 is not designed to do, or am I just using the wrong settings ? I have tried a whole range of different settings but none seem to work.

Within a property without an available adsl line I'm simply trying to network a wireless laptop with a wireless printer. Both devices recognise the router, etc, but problem sending file for printing to the printer. (laptop does not detect printer). Is the lack of an internet connection the issue or simply a configuration issue?
I have the next config: PC -> Asus RT-N16 router (192.168.1.1) -> LinkSys WAG54G2 in bridge mode (192.168.0.1),How can I access to modem's config page from my PC ?
We have a Vigor ADSL modem linked to a hub that then links to 3 pc's and 2 printers all via ethernet. Connection to the outside world is fine.
A few weeks ago the IT geek decided to switch the modem from DHCP to PPPoA and put each pc & printer on fixed IPs. The Vigor is also on a static IP.
This therefore cut off our link to the Linksys WRTG54 we have in a different room serving as a wireless router.
The Linksys is/was connected via ethernet to port 1, port 2 direct to laptop. Wireless worked fine until they changed to static IP etc on the Vigor, now we only have ethernet to the laptop and no Wireless.
What do we need to do at the Linksys end to get wireless working again?
We got a 1921 router that works fine. We ordered Verizon Businss One Static IP ADSL. It came with a Westell Modem that we configured in bridge mode. When we do a test by assigning a static IP to our laptop then hook it up to the Westell it works fine. We can browse the web. Then when we assign a static IP to the Ethernet on our 1921 then connect it to the Westell it doesn't work. We can't ping out from the router to for example 4.2.2.2. From the router we can't even ping the default gateway (on Verizon's side).
I bought "Belkin N150 Wireless Modem Router" and while installing noticed that the ADSL slot is too short that does not fit the LAN chord, instead fits the telephone chord. How do I fit the LAN chord fit in the ADSL slot? Any alternatives? My ISP comes with a LAN chord and is connected directly to my PC.
I own a Broadcom BCM5354-based wireless router (Tomato 1.27 flashed) and an Aztech DSL605E modem. When both are powered up, the wireless router sometimes doesn't get internet access because the modem automatically logs itself in. I have to plug the modem cable to my laptop, manually disconnect the modem, and plug the modem cable back to the router to fix it.
i have a adsl modem tp link td 8840, and i had this up and running well for about 3 days. then we decided to get a router cause my little sis got a ipad2.the router is dlink dir 61.so basically i followed all the instructions and the internet was working fine.then for some reason ign site stopped working, i thought that it was down for some reason and didn't think much of it and today when i tryed to go into hotmail or facebook it doesn't work either. so i can get into the log in pages of both, but when i put in the id and password, the screen goes blank and just says waiting for .... on the bottom (using google chrome).and it never loads.i tryed with other internet browsers and it din't work so i took out the router and re wired the adsl modem only and voila. all the sites started working again.i want to use my router but i don't know why i can't acess some sites when i have it connected.
At home I have a D Link DSL-2640R wireless adsl router/modem in my downstairs office.I would like to use the cable which goes to upstairs of the house to link to some sort of extra router or switch in order to provide more network ports upstairs.

My Toshiba laptop can't get connected to the wireless ADSL modem router TD-W8960N. I have 4 different laptops and one desktop, all connected to the router very well, only the Toshiba cannot get on Internet. I can connect to the wireless network on the laptop, but it shows limited access.
Lately I encountered random Internet connection issues? My router is a Netgear Wireless ADSL Firewall Modem Router DG834 (Firmware V1.05.0) and my ISP, isn't the most reliable regarding bandwidth... All clients (max 3 at the same time) connect wireless. The problem is that the last few weeks my connections is very unstable, all clients lose the internet connection until you restart the router manually.I can't even connect to the webinterface (192.168.0.1), during the downtimes.
I have Desktop and Laptop connected to a Huawei-make,Model No Smart AX 882, ,via ethernet & USB port. Is it possible to convert the same ADSL wired modem into a wireless modem for my Laptop. the type of hardware to be used (e.g., wireless access point or a wireless router) through my USB port in the wired modem? what is the configuration change I have do in my wired broad band modem?
recently i got a dlink dir 615 router from a friend. i'm using adsl modem now. i want to connect the modem to the router so that i have a wireless at home for my laptop and iphone. i have follow the step in the router manual but it did not work. i just cannot conect to the router page through the 192.168.0.1 i am using windows vista home basic.
I have a modem/router at one end of my house, but the WiFi doesn't reach the other end of the house (where I have my other PC). If I bought a second modem/router and plugged it in next to my computer, would that work?and if so, would I have to turn one modem off to use the other?

I have D-link 2640U ADSL2+ modem. Now I have 12Mbps / 1Mbps internet connection. I am planning to move to 24Mbps /1Mbps intenet connection and I want to know if this modem is enough. What is the best modem so I get the full 24Mbps[CODE]
I am new using cisco router 2600, i want to use dmz like adsl modem to direct ip public to ip lan like 180.15.22.x.x to ip lan 192.168.1.2 ( lrouter mikrotik ) outside to inside so when i call ip public then forrward to mikrotik
I got a client who's getting a VOIP system installed into their/my network. The VOIP IT guys are demanding a separate static public IP address to be forward/made available to their router. They will put their phones on a different local subnet.
So here's what I've offered them and they refused:
1. separate PPPOE login; that way we share the modem and each router handles their own session (cleanest solution but they don't want to pay extra) 2. plug their router into DMZ of my WRV210 (they said they require publicly routed IP going direct to their device (but in this case they would have to assign my private IP as their WAN IP and all internet traffic would go to them unfiltered))
