I'm trying to set up an IPSec tunnel between 2 3845 routers that each sit in a private LAN behind an ADSL modem. Each modem does have a static public IP address from the ISP.
Thus:

So I would like to set up IPSEC between the GI 0/0 interfaces on the 3845's.
To configure the GRE tunnel over IPSEC with OSFT via Encryption module from Cisco Router 3845, I have few queries:
1. Does the router 3845 support hot swap for encryption module?
2. Does the router require to be rebooted after plug in encryption module?
3. Any samples configuration for GRE tunnel over IPSEC?
How to reconcile what I've observed on our routers on a tunnel interface. The maximum amount of data I can get across the tunnel is 1339 bytes, which seems just a little bit too small. Background: we have two 3845 routers with IOS 12.4(3a) advanced ip services. I have tunnel interfaces on both routers, interface configs are below.

When I test the mtu of the source destination interfaces I get 1500 bytes, as you would expect from an Ethernet connection to a service providers MPLS network. See output below:

That comes to a total of 1420, which is 80 bytes short of the mtu of the source/destination interface of the tunnel.
We want to use cisco 3845 and pick up IPSec, with remote side. But I am afraid that cisco 3845 can't handle 155 Mbits over IPsec. We will buy AIM- VPN/ SSL3 card. Is this sufficient?

Same machines,same software, same operating system, same remote IP (ASA5520 external IP) only change Wifi connection (ADSL to cellular phone). I need to create multiple ip-sec vpn tunnels on A Cisco 837 ADSL Router. I am able to create one tunnel but the second connection is asking for the outside interface which is atm and already taken by the first tunnel. How can i create more tunnels?
Secondly, after creating the first tunnel i am able to access the remote lan network but when i tried tracert "remote lan ip of a pc" from my pc i got "request timed out" after passing my 837 but succeeded to reach the target. Does tracert needs something to be opened in the router?

Now for some reason, my TP-LINK modem doesn't work with my ISP, whereas the modem provided by my ISP works. If I wish I could get the basic modem provided by my ISP which contains one RJ11 port and one Ethernet port.
So can I link both the modems? I mean will this configuration work: Connect telephone cable to basic modem provided by ISP. And then connect the Ethernet port of basic modem to the Ethernet port of TP-link modem. And then connect remaining Ethernet ports to PC and laptop and simultaneously use WIFI.

I have a RV120W that reboots itself when the WAN (ADSL modem) breaks away. With an old D-Link low end router, reconnecting after a failure is completed after 5 seconds and nobody cares, but the RV rebooting takes almost 2 minutes which is actually noticed...I also have some trouble getting VPN running, QuickVPN as well as normal IPsec, using either Shrewsoft or Greenbow as clients. get this router running with 3rd party VPN clients?

I am connected to the internet via a non TP=Llink ADSL2 modem/router supplied by my ISP.I was using my TL-MR3220 as a 3G modem but no longer need it for that purpose. I was wondering whether I can now use my TL-MR3220 for two other purposes: as an additional wireless access point and as a means of linking equipment (i.e. printers) to the home network . i have tried connecting the ADSL2 modem/router to the TL-MR3220 via an ethernet cable (one of the 4 LAN ports on the ADSL modem/router to the blue WAN port on the TL-MR3220) but I can get no internet connection through the TL-MR3220.Is this normal i.e. something that the TL-MR3220 is not designed to do, or am I just using the wrong settings ? I have tried a whole range of different settings but none seem to work.
