I took the cable to few local computer dealers but none of them could connect an RJ-45 connector to it. They can only connect a 4 pair cat 5 cable. As part of a DC deploy, aI have to install 2 x ASA5580. My surprise was the missing connection bolts (or place) on the chassis for the grounding cable. All othes equipments (ASR, 6500, Nexus 7K) have a grounding connection on their chassis.
The Installation manual alerts and requests a good gorundid for it. But where should I put it??Note that the rack where it's installed on is already grounded.

I cannot utilize my Ethernet connection when my Dell Latitude D630 is connected to a docking station. I have tried this on two different docking stations. I also have another Dell laptop that I have used in the one of the same docking stations and the ethernet connection is fine. I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.

It worked perfectly, but when I returned home I found my laptop could no longer connect to the home network, it just says it cannot connect, but all the over devices in the house work. My laptop can still connect to the internet via an ethernet cable but this isnt practical at home. I can't seem to connect my laptop using my ethernet cable, but I'm able to connect it to the Internet using my wireless connection. Whenever I plug in the cable, my computer tells me that the LAN connection is connected, but I can't open a web page. I have a new broadband connection and I was kinda facing problems connecting wirelessly with my router.So I did go to my router page and then cloned my MAC book's mac id, and it worked fine. I'm able to connect to the internet wirelessly. However, I can't connect to internet from an Windows XP lappy. I have removed, re-added the network, the network is very much identified but the laptop doesn't wanna connect to the internet wirelessly.Both the laptops MAC Book pro and Dell(the one which has XP loaded) were able to connect without any problem in the previous ISP's case but XP doesn't wanna connect to with the new ISP.

xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.
Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.
I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a E4200v2 and im getting wireless connection issues. I have updated to the lastest firmware and have checked all my wireless settings. I dont use usb storeage. I have 1 laptop using 5G, my iphone using 2G and my wife mac using also 2G.. the problem is that, once we stop using the 2G connection (leave it overnight), it just dies the next day.. it wont connect, i double check the password and it wont connect. But the 5G connection is fine.. Do i have a break E4200v2? or anyway of fixing this?
