Cisco WAN :: 887VA Adsl Connection Up But Only Certain Websites Reachable?

Feb 14, 2013

The aDSL circuit is up and connected and I can reach the internet, however not all sites on the internet are reachable. This is occurring on two seperate 887VA’s and the circuit has been tested with a netgear router and no issues occur.  The router has been tried on 5 different ADSL connections and the same problem occurs although more websites can be reached on a home broadband connection (ADSL2+ Annex A) as opposed to the problem being more severe on an ADSL2+ Annex M circuit.  The problem seems to affect websites that are full of adverts more than sites that have single domain landing pages.

The sites that I cannot reach are pingable. This happens on multiple machines behind the router. The same config is used on an cisco 877-M router with no issues.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Websites Not Reachable On Server?

Aug 16, 2011

On my server I host several websites.Last Monday we got our FttH-connection and I'd set up my D-Link DIR 655 to manage our server and other computers. In the webconfig of my router I set up the Virtual Server for several applications (Telnet - 23, HTTP - 80, HTTPS - 443, FTP - 21, SMTP - 25, POP3 - 110, IMAP - 143 and also ports 20, 22 en 81) redirected to my server's IP address. For these items the private port and the public port of each item is the same port number; the protocol is TCP for these items. I didn't change the options Schedule ("Always") and Inbound Filter ("Allow All").

The DNS of my domains (samendienen.nl and some other domains) is set to my new IP-address.May be I forgot some other settings in my D-Link-router.what I have to do to make my websites reachable?

Cisco WAN :: Unable To Connect 887VA Router To ISP Via ADSL

Jul 7, 2011

I have been trying to connect a  new Cisco 887VA Router to the Internet using ADSL via PPPoE and have  been unsuccessful. The DSL line is active and functioning correctly  since the current "old" router is connected and working without any  problems (the "old" DLink router is connected to an Alcatel DSL Modem).  AT&T provides the ADSL service to the office. When the Cisco Router  is connected it tries to negotiate a connection via PPPoE on the WAN  interface but utlimately fails. The IP for the WAN interface is dynamic.

Below is the current configuration of the router.

Cisco WAN :: 887VA ADSL - Service Policy Brings Down Link?

Aug 7, 2012

Have installed an 887VA on the end of a ADSL connection. The provider has specified EF 150 on the link. The router is configured using a Virtual Template.

If the Virtual Template has a service policy applied, we don't have connectivity to their main site - although the CD and PPP lights are lit. As soon as the service policy is removed, we have connectivity.

We've had three sites with the same problem. Two of the sites don't have QoS specified on the link but had the same problem if the service policy was applied.

Cisco WAN :: Poor Performance / Packet Loss With 887VA Router On ADSL Line

Dec 6, 2012

We have a remote site connected to ADSL line with a Cisco 887VA router attached. This has been working fine for the last couple of months. However, recently, the site have started to complain of performance issues (network slow, applications disconnecting, etc)Looking on the router, we can see evidence of packet loss/timeouts from a simple ping to the internet e.g. [code]

However, we have logged the fault with our service provider and they return all line tests as clear but what is particularly strange is that they also report “and the SNR Margins are well within threshold levels (Upstream 11.5 and Downstream 15.0)” which, unless I’m misunderstanding something, seems to be completely different from what the router itself is reporting. Is there a reason why the service provider’s stats for Noise Margin would appear to be so different from what the router is reporting?

Also, I have set the firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for both TCP and UDP, and assigned static IP addresses to my computers. The problem I am having is that whenever I go to any secure websites, i.e. anything that starts with https, it takes an extraordinary long time to log in and to navigate to any webpages therein. I also cannot upload photos to a website and when I try the Speed-test.net website the download speed is OK but the upload test errors out, it doesn't connect.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410n Not Reachable?

Feb 7, 2012

I have a wap4410n. It was performing poorly. Only letting some computers on the wireless while not letting other. I was able to login into the device and I went through each of the settings pages to see if there was anything set wrong. I soon found there was a firmware upgrade available.

So over a wired connection I started the firmware upgrade after waiting 10+ minutes I was unable to reach the device and the web page said it was waiting for the ip address of the device. So I rebooted the device.

I can not ping the device. I can not see it on any subnet. I have tried the reset button multiple times.

The ethernet and power lights are on.

Cisco Switches :: SG300 Not Reachable Beyond Subnet?

Feb 6, 2013

I'm trying to configure a SG300 to be reachable beyond its own subnet. Its IP address is configured by DHCP to 192.168.2.2/255.255.255.0. It is possible to ping the switch from the same subnet but not from outside. The switch is set to layer 2 mode. All routing should be done by the gateway.

Here's what I have checked so far: The default gateway and netmask are set correctlyThe gateway can ping the switchHosts in the 192.168.2.0/24 subnet have connectivity to other networks through the gateway (i.e. gateway configured correctly)Administrative interface > IPv4 interface shows the correct ip address, netmask, and gateway (greyed out because it is assigned by DHCP)the switch can ping other hosts within the same network

Is there some kind of firewall setting that prohibits the switch to respond to ip packets from outside the subnet?

Cisco WAN :: 861 Enabling All Internal Devices To Be Reachable Through NAT

Jun 15, 2012

I need to connect 10 branches to a datacenter using cisco 861 routers because the ethernet sollution the provider gave us can't assign more than 32 MAC addresses for whe whole network. So we have all our servers at the datacenter with a central firewall/router and all remote branches with a static route to this router. We would like to make all branches local networks available through NAT or another better solution so network devices at the datacenter network can communicate with all local devices accross all the brances.

I've tried to set up a dynamic NAT from outside to inside the network and didn't work, set up static ip routes for both datancenter and remote branchs and also didn't work. I just would like to make the routers work in a transparent way, no blocking of anything, passing all traffic in and out the network.

Cisco WAN :: 1841 ADSL Interface Dropping Connection

Jul 2, 2012

We have an ADSL2+ line from a WIC in a 1841, everything has been fine for the last few years and then the last few months the connection going down. When checking the interfaces the ATM0/0/0 is up up and the same for the dialer interface we are using, they are both up/up, but this still needs a reload of the router to be functional again, shutting the interfaces does not bring the connection back up.

I am not an expert on ADSL lines, I have never really had a problem with anything previously. The router was running Netflow to a network monitor wondering if this or logging was causing an issue with entries in the buffer??

Here is an output of show dsl int, would change the firmware, it has been fine all this time before though we are running IOS 12.4(24)T1 advseck9-m, as far as I can seen from our ISP the config for ADSL is all correct. [Code]

Cisco WAN :: 877 / 2800 - Use Static ADSL As Backup Connection

May 3, 2011

We have a few WAN connecting sites to ISP using BGP. we are looking at getting backup link for 1 site.

We have decide to use an IP WAN ADS L link. we will have 877 and 2800 for each link. from understanding, we have a static routing on IPWAN service. means when both BGP WAN and IP WAN connected to the ISP. ISP will use ADSL as primary ignore the BGP link. so other sites will see a BGP route coming from ISP via the ADSL link for this location.

So we have find a manuel solution, leave ADSL unplugged of power but setup same LAN ip address and connect the cable towards the core switch. when WAN link fail, switch on ADSL. So the static route will advertise to the rest of sites.

just want to know is there any auto solution can disable the ADSL link/ ppp link when the 2800/WAN route is up. and enable the ADSL port when the WAN is down. not sure if HSRP/backup interface/tracking will work? and how?

site office switch - > 2800  - >  ISP  - > ADSL ->  ISP
(need this link to be backup and protocol down, so the ISP will not able to connect to this link and advertise as next hop)

ADSL Connection - Increasing Downloading Time?

I am using my ADSL Internet Connection especially for downloading files those past few months.I have even purchased an account at filesonic. However, the speed remain the same except that there are no waiting period and I can download multiple files at the same time. What are the tips for increasing downloading time? I am now using the latest 5.0 Firefox and Windows 7 and using or not using the download them all add-ons does not add much to the download time.

What about the telephone line cable? The position of the beetel modem, does that play a role in speed limit? Are there some hardware equipment that can cause a subsequent increase in download speed?

Dropping ADSL Connection / Connecting Back?

Mar 2, 2012

I have been having a weird connection issue for a week or so.The problem is at the first time i boot up my modem it simply cant connect.DSL Line LED keeps blinking- handshaking and training as it says in modem config page. After maybe 5 minutes or 2 hours, totally random. It picks up the connection, i can use it for hours until it randomly drops down once again.Ive contacted my ISP and they came over two times, they state the line quality is not suitable for my connection speed and it will be solved if i drop down my connection speed.Doing that is a painful process cause there is no other speed/quota package suitable for me, so i wanted to ask you people about it before i take action.

My modem is a Dynalink RTA1320 and i tried with another modem, tried mine in a friends house.Plus i went to the place where the cable enters my house and tried over there too, it didnt work as it should pick up in about 20 seconds. Here are stats my modem shows in the config page.[CODE]
