Specific Connection To Use For Certain Websites Or Services?
Nov 13, 2011
I hope this question has not been asked here in the past, as I have googled for answers many times..I live in UAE and the ISP here blocks many sites and services which made me do the following:I have a notebook PC running WindowsXP with two connections to the internet.LAN connected to my ISP which is 30mb/sWLAN connected to the internet through DD-WRT router running OpenVPN and the speed is not that fast.hat I do now is that I have to disable my LAN and access the internet through WLAN (VPN) and have to enable LAN again whenever I need to download large files
I have two webites hosted by the same company. Yesterday I thought their server was down. To make a long story short, everyone I talk to can access the sites and I cant my hosting company says its a router problem. I contacted the service provider and reset the router but that didnt fix it. I have 3 computers on this router and none of them work to access the site. I reset the ip config, I've tryed EI and Firefox. I checked the IE diagnostic log but dont know what it means and it says:
I have a cisco 2821 router where as a cisco 2960 switch with connect on router as a trunk & one user vlan . this is my WAN router all traffic are internal . i have 2MB data connectivity on my WAN side. i have to Give a specific Bandwith on my SAP traffice . like when SAP traffice will come they all time get around 50 % bandwidth of my channel. If SAP resuest are not comming then other traffice will get full bandwith .
In Setup > Parental Control it is possible to set rules attached to specific website URLs. I want to block access from 1am to 6am.
However these rules only apply to websites URL. Is there a way to apply a rule to ALL websites at once? I tried to enter "*" or "*.*" in website URL field but it doesn't work.
Is there a way to block specific computers on the LAN from specific web sites by the domain name? All I can see is that if I put, for example, www.facebook.com, it will be blocked from all computers on the LAN, whereas if I want to block only 192.168.1.3 for example, I have to use the IP address through the Access Control, which is much harder and ****e to some "work around" by the user.
open specific ports on 1941w Integrated Services Router. This specific router is a wireless VPN router that has a wired module and a wireless module and VPN so I'm getting 3 subnets on my network - 192.168.1.. for the wired connections, 10.100.1.... for wireless LAN connections and 10.100.2... for VPN remote connections.I know that by default all connected computers can access my Linux server data through telnet so the telnet port is open by default, the problem is that I have some other software licensing system on my Linux box that needs to be accessed through port 27000 and most of my users are using wireless connections and can't access that license because post 27000 is closed.what is the comand to open this post or any other port that I need to be open on the wired module, wireless module and VPN or at least poit me to somewhere where I can find all the commands that I can use for this router?
Is there an easy way to allow specific websites access in cisco router 1841? I am trying to allow a website through access list 102 but not working. I am using access-list 102 permit ip host 192.168.21.20 host www.website.comIf i allow all websites then it works fine.
My company has a peer to peer network of 10 personal computers without a server. Operating systems from Windows XP to Vista. I've recently installed a Cisco RV120W Wireless-N VPN Firewall. It's configured in DHCP Server Mode with printers/copiers that have static IPs below the DHCP range.
I'm having a problem with certain stations being used for personal networking, shopping, etc. during business hours. Consequently I would like to limit internet access on these stations. However, some internet access is required because of online database software that's an integral part of our business. I've been reading in the Administration Guide about URL Blocking. Would it be possible to give static IPs to certain stations and then limit their internet access to 1 or 2 specific websites?
FYI, I've read about the Trusted Domains and Blocked Keywords but cannot quite understand how to parley this into the solution I need.
At our small business I would like to be able to test connecting to some of our websites as an external IP address user outside of our network although still being physically connected to the internal network. Any thoughts on the simplest way to set this up? I have the capability to setup vlans on our switch, could I make one of the vlans/ports have an external connection instead of an internal?
I recently upgraded my modem and before then my internet connection was working. I was able to connect to websites and all. But once i upgraded it wouldn't allow me to connect. my other computers are able to but not my main one. My ISP told me to bring it in to the shop cause they said something was blocking my connection. I ran some basic things i saw on the internet. i am able to get to web pages through ip address but not through the [URL] type ones.
I am using Comcast as an ISP and have a standalone Arris modem. I, obviously, have a DIR-655 router REV B with a firmware revision on 2.00NA. I have already turned off packet shaping and QOS. Also, I have set the firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for both TCP and UDP, and assigned static IP addresses to my computers. The problem I am having is that whenever I go to any secure websites, i.e. anything that starts with https, it takes an extraordinary long time to log in and to navigate to any webpages therein. I also cannot upload photos to a website and when I try the Speed-test.net website the download speed is OK but the upload test errors out, it doesn't connect.
The aDSL circuit is up and connected and I can reach the internet, however not all sites on the internet are reachable. This is occurring on two seperate 887VA’s and the circuit has been tested with a netgear router and no issues occur. The router has been tried on 5 different ADSL connections and the same problem occurs although more websites can be reached on a home broadband connection (ADSL2+ Annex A) as opposed to the problem being more severe on an ADSL2+ Annex M circuit. The problem seems to affect websites that are full of adverts more than sites that have single domain landing pages.
The sites that I cannot reach are pingable. This happens on multiple machines behind the router. The same config is used on an cisco 877-M router with no issues.

Regarding to subject above, I using Cisco 1921/K9 which I have bought from ECSM on 19-march 2012 currently facing a problem with the cisco. My problem is the I can’t browse most of the webpages and very slow browsing even I’m using Unifi 10mbps .
I couldn't open websites ex. msn.com / yahoo.com but if i bypass the cisco router there is no issue appear. I have checked the setup and there are no problem on the configuration or the Unifi line . I think it would be any hardware problem. I have attached the info of configuration the cisco .
I can't access the following a specific website from any computer in my house. I am able to access all other sites. I have tried Firefox, IE, Chrome. All i get is the following error: "The connection has timed out" I called my ISP this morning, and they asked me to try adding a proxy server in IE. That is, Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings > Proxy server > proxy.tpg.com.au:3128, After doing this i was able to access the site! What could this mean?
Is it possible to enable an absolute value rate limit using QOS on a HP ProCurve 5406 switch for a particular IP range on a specific port? Is there a way to configure our HP 5406 with an absolute rate limit on "WAN" port for that server's IP range? I would like to limit it to only being capable of sending 1Mbps worth of traffic over the head end at once.Everything in the documentation points towards priority queues, which as far as I can tell, isn't really what I want.Baring accomplishing this goal using rate limiting is there a better way to prevent our services from accidentally saturating this connection?i thimkong about somthing like that:
class ipv4 rate-limit-port-A1 match ip 10.136.0.0/16 any exit policy qos port-a1-ratelimit class servers-to-be-slowed action rate-limit kbps 1000 exit interface A1 service-policy port-a1-ratelimit inI'm not sure about this.
I use a router RV082 with load balancing. My problem is when I try to access a specific site, I get the error message that my IP address changes and I can not use 2 ip address. I want to specify an ip range to always use the same WAN port.
I was trying to learn a bit more about routers and therefore tried to acces one of our routers using an external ADSL line at work. The router is a ZYxel Prestige 324. Since I did not have the password I performed a hard reset. Now when I try to acces any website I receive error 105 ERR_ NAME_ NOT_RESOLVEDThe only difference that I can see now is that there is no longer a connection specific DNS suffix assigned.Could this be the issue? If yes how can I configure this?
I was wondering if it is possible to share my internet connection to specific computers on my home network. Both my laptop and desktop computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi router (no internet connection). This network connection is mainly used for file sharing. I want to share the mobile internet connection on my laptop with my pc without giving the other computers on my network access to the internet connection and without disconnecting from the home Wi-Fi router. Is this possible and if so how
Need assistance understanding how in ASDM/Configuration/Site-to-Site VPN/Connection Profiles/ "Any Entry" I can specify that I only want to offer an IKE Proposal of pre-share-aes-256-sha?
The IKE Proposal field has a number of possible options including: pre-share-aes-256-md5, pre-share-3des-md5, pre-share-aes-256-sha, pre-share-aes-192-sha, pre-share-3des-md5, pre-share-aes-sha and pre-share-3des-sha.
I am able to pick a specific IPSec Proposal w/o issue but when I attempt to do the same for the IKE Proposal, and click OK the choice does not "stick" but rather returns to the entire list as defined above.
! no ip dhcp use vrf connected ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.63 ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.1.192 192.168.1.254 !

I want to assign a specific IP to a specifig host by MAC .. for example i want the ip 192.168.1.10 to be assign to the host "client1" by mac.I've been creating a new dhcp pool static:
! ip dhcp pool static host 192.168.1.10 255.255.255.0 hardware-address xxxx.xxxx.xxxx client-name client1 !
How to block Internet Connection during specific time.for example i want to block everyday between 8am to 12nn, then 1pm to 5pm.what are the options and better to achieve this kind of policy??
my laptop, which connects fine to all other wireless networks, has trouble on this one. It can browse the web all day, but the second a large file begins to transfer (video, a file download, etc.) it will drop the connection randomly, usually rather quickly. The computer does not need to be restarted to reconnect, it often reconnects on its own near-immediately, though sometimes I have to go to the system tray and reconnect manually.I thought it was too far from the router, but my tower in the same room connects flawlessly, and going in to the same room as the router doesn't work. This same laptop has been fine on every other network, and every other computer is fine on this network. I've web crawled off and on about this for months, but no one's problem is limited to one computer/network combination.
I am facing a proble in wireless connection speed that is getting very slow at a specific time, i.e., from 12pm to 2pm and from 9 pm to 2 am. The service is unlimitted type contract
I got a Problem on a customer which is using a Failover ASA 5510 pair with SSM-CSC-10-K9 modules. The clients have to connect to a webserver where they are doing some calculations. If they prepare everything and want to calculate everything what takes a couple of time the session is after about 3 minutes timedout. My first idea was to set session specific timeouts which are a bit longer then the normal but this setting did not work. I created a policy which did not work for me. How to set connection specific timeout's? [code]
Yesterday (Friday, September 21, 2012), my Internet connection started acting up. After some testing, I confirmed a very specific and baffling set of symptoms: Internet connection goes away every 25-35 minutes (I did not confirm the exact interval, but it seems to be about 30 mins.)Only some protocols are affected; HTTP*, P2P, etc. stop working; FTP, etc. continue to work When it’s stopped, cannot even ping router or cable-modem IPs or view their firmware pages Domain-names and IPs are irrelevant (for protocols that stop working, neither work, for those that still work, both work)Resetting router fixes it for another 30 minutes Keeping the connection idle or active doesn’t seem to make a difference (nor the bandwidth usage in that period)Connecting directly to cable-modem allows it to work indefinitely Disconnecting the router from the cable-modem works indefinitely (no Internet connection obviously, but can still access router IP and firmware page)Connecting the router to the cable-modem, but putting the modem on standby also works indefinitelySame problem with both a wireless laptop and wired (on any port) desktop (both Windows 7; will try to test Windows XP when possible)Nothing had changed in the days leading up to the issue. No modifications to the networking configuration or the router; there were not even any Windows updates except for an MSSE definition update.Waiting does not fix it, nor does any amount of fiddling with anything; only resetting the router fixes it for 30 minutes (resetting the cable-modem doesn't work either)if I keep pressing the standby button on the cablemodem after browsing some pages, the connection works indefinitely (If I press the button to restore the connection, browse some pages, press the button again to cut the connection, it works fine for hours and hours without issue. Only when I leave it active for a while does it finally stop. I repeated this for three days with the same results.)I tried cleaning the pins in the router’s plugs, but that didn’t work, which was not really a surprise since I was not getting a lost connection error.
Obviously my first thought was that the router was having a problem, and this is borne out by some tests. The problem is that when it drops, it is not a full drop since I can still do things like ftp ftp.mcafee.com and such which means that the connection and DNS are still working. Moreover, if it were the router, then why does it stay alive indefinitely when not connected to the cable-modem (i.e., no outside influence)?
The problem doesn't seem to be either the cable-modem nor the router, but rather an interaction between the two, like something from the outside (port scan? hacker? ISP?) that is triggering a problem in the router. I see that there have been a couple of vulnerabilities for the DI-524, but those were a while back and should be fixed since I have the last firmware for it.
I don’t think it’s my ISP (Rogers) since I have been using the router for several years without problem and can connect indefinitely when bypassing it. But I can’t rule them out since that is one of the only possible things that could have suddenly changed.
(I note that when I opened the router, I heard a very high-pitched noise from somewhere near the capacitors/ferrite ring which I don’t think I heard the last time I opened it a few years ago, but then if it were that, then why would it affect only a very small, specific set of functions?)
Update:Last week, my Internet connection dropped out for two days. I called the ISP and they had me bring the cable-modem in to be replaced. I exchanged the SB5100 for a new cable-modem that has a built-in router with wireless AP and firewall. (I left it in gateway mode instead of bridge mode.)This morning it started behaving just like the old router. Most protocols continued to work (mail, P2P, NTP, etc.) but web-browsing (HTTP) was dead; I could not even connect to the cable-router’s web-interface. I rebooted the cable-router and HTTP functionality was restored; exactly like the previous router.
I find it highly unlikely that this could be a coincidence or related to the router itself since the new one is literally brand-spanking-new (bagged, twist-ties, in a box, with that new-plastic smell, etc.), and completely different from the old one (the new one is an ISP-branded model labeled “Hitron” while the old one was a D-Link DI-524).
I Changed my old firewall by an ASA5510, since that change my internet connexion is slower. Some websites takes longer to display.I would like to know if there are some specific configuration about TCP connection or DNS to setup?
I just configured the ISP DNS :
Dns server-group DefaultDNSname-server 194.2.0.20 name-server 194.2.0.50
Lately I've been experiencing connection problems between my router and cable modem. Every night after 11:00 PM EST, my Internet connection sporadically goes out. I called my ISP who said there was nothing wrong on their end. Plugging directly into my modem allows me to access the Internet. When I wake up in the morning, the connection is back until 11 or later again. I ran WireShark but I'm not sure what to be looking for. There are a lot of random things from the LLMNR protocol like standard query A zmtvrjaql.
I am running Wondows XP OS and have 2 NIC's in it. One is connected with DSL and other is with LAN of my Network. By using CCProxy 6.4.1 I am running the Internet on my LAN. I also want to run CCTV camera Sevice and want to share it on LAN as I share Internet on LAN but Camera Service Packets do not route on LAN but routhe when i disconnect the DSL Connection. So what i have to do to run both services (internet + camera service) smoothly.
A fair while ago I setup a transparent proxy server running Opensuse (think it was version 10.2), it worked perfectly, cached the http traffic and still allowed https, and other services to be accessed. However the drive in it died so its being setup again.I've got squid running transparently just fine, but I can't get the other services to forward through IP tables.. I know i can't cache HTTP - and nor do I want to. I thought from memory that I had the default option for the sections in iptables to "ACCEPT", and just had rules to redirect the http traffic to squid. However that's exactly what I've got now - and I can't access anything other than port 80.I have Google it and i'm getting so many varied responses people telling saying it can't be done, others saying you have to add a rule for every other port.
