No Longer A Connection Specific DNS Suffix Assigned

I was trying to learn a bit more about routers and therefore tried to acces one of our routers using an external ADSL line at work.The router is a ZYxel Prestige 324. Since I did not have the password I performed a hard reset.Now when I try to acces any website I receive error 105 ERR_ NAME_ NOT_RESOLVEDThe only difference that I can see now is that there is no longer a connection specific DNS suffix assigned.Could this be the issue? If yes how can I configure this?

ASA 5510 ASA 8.0 ASDM 6.1 I want some remote users to have split-tunnel connection, others not. I used Cisco Document ID 100936 "Allow Split Tunneling for AnyConnect VPN Client on the ASA Configuration...". I created a new Group Policy with split-tunnel enabled. I created a new Connection Profile and assigned to it the new Group Policy. When I authenticate at the AnyConnect client I get a dropdown of the 2 connecton profiles, to choose the one I want. Each of them works, enabling or disabling split-tunnel. But I want to assign a connection profile to the particular user, not give the user a choice. The problem is I'm using LDAP authentication. The Local Users I set up before LDAP are obsolete, assigning them a Group Policy does nothing. I really don't want to give up LDAP and force people back to another local password. But the LDAP authentication to Active Directory just says yes or no, it won't assign a connection profile. At the AnyConnect Connection Profiles page I have set a switch "Allow user to select connection profile, identified by its alias, on the login page. Otherwise, DefaultWebVPNGroup will be the connection profile". If I clear that switch every user will be assigned the same default profile, which does not work.

For awhile every now and then my computer decides it needs to 'acquire network address' on booting up. It never does succeed unless prompted by my going into Wireless Connections and pressing 'repair'. Yet my connection to the Internet is not impeded even while the little yellow ball hovers round mini monitor in the taskbar. It is hovering now as this thread is written. ipconfig reveals Connection Specific DNS suffix is missing, but the IP Address is there. My ZyXel 7087 router shows a fixed W/LAN/WPS and DSL light, but the Internet light is continually flickering, regardless of whether the computer is on. The TCP/IP is set to,'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically'. Advanced TCP/IP Settings shows DHCP Enabled. DNS tab - DNS server addresses box is blank 'Append primary and connection specific DNS suffixes' is dotted and 'Append parent suffixes of the primary suffix' is ticked. 'Append these DNS suffixes (in order)' is unchecked. WINS addresses box is blank. 'Enable LMHOSTS lookup' is ticked. NetBIOS setting - Default (checked) - Use NetBIOS setting from the DHCP server. If static IP address is used or the DHCP server does not provide NetBIOS setting enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. Enable & Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP unchecked. While reading the WNC status the computer has found the Network address, but all above remains true.

i'm using ACS 5.3.0.40.2 and its setup with an AD External Identity store for wireless PEAP MSCHAPv2. AD is configured with Alternate UPN suffixes so that for example: 22056 Subject not found in the applicable identity store(s). ##
I've checked the release notes for 5.3.0.40.5 and there are some changes/fixes for AD but nothing I can see to explain the behaviour above. I'm looking to upgrade to 5.3.0.40.5 soon but I really need the Alternate UPN suffixes to work.mydomain.com is the AD domain namean Alternate UPN suffix of another.com has been added to AD
A valid AD user can add either the @mydomain.com or the @another.com suffixes to their username and login successfully. This works fine with 5.3.0.40.2 but changes when I upgrade to 5.3.0.40.5 - users who use the @mydomain.com login ok but users using the Alternate UPN @another.com fail with the error: [code]

I installed virtual pc 2007 that has winXP and my host is Windows vista. I was able to make my virtual pc to connect to host internet using NAT for adapter 1 long time ago without any problems but it is not working anymore since last month! Although it works when I try it on another host. I believe the problem is in my host so what to check excatly in my host.

For other three years, me and my brother have both been connected to our router via ethernet cables. On this Tuesday just gone, however, my brother took it upon himself to mess with the router whilst I was out. Apparently, his internet had been down since we'd had a power-cut on the Sunday, (My internet was fine, and always has been and was fully functional after said power-cut), and before then, it'd been going really slow, and sometimes cutting out. Okay, no problem. Now, the the thing is, that morning, I was on my internet, all happy, and when I returned home that evening, my PC wouldn't connect. My PC still refuses to connect, three days on. It's not even picking up that there's something plugged in.the router is actually flashing to say that my PC is plugged in and connected to the router. I know that there is nothing wrong with the modem or what have you, as I linked my laptop up to my PC via a cable earlier today to try and get it online. It's not a virus program problem, either. Like I said, it was working Tuesday morning, nine hours later, I come home, my brother restarted/unplugged the router, and now my PC won't connect. I should also note that he's now had to go wireless via a dongle, and everyone else in the house uses wireless laptops. I can't connect my PC to the internet with a dongle

Suddenly after more than a year of running fine, my wap seems to be giving all clients a bad DNS suffix which of course breaks DNS resolution internally (no problem with internet resolution). I assume it's a wap problem since all of my wired clients receive the correct suffix. I'm using a RVS4000 router if that makes any difference.

I have a Cisco ASA 5510 (with an AnyConnect Mobile License enabled) I used to be able to connect to the VPN using the AnyConnect app for Android form the Google App store (the phone is a Samsung Galaxy S II LTE, if that matters). Like I said everything used to work fine until a few weeks ago, the only change I made to the router was giving it a different external IP address (I changed ISP), I'm pretty sure it worked after that. But now when I try to connect with my Android I get this error: "Clientless (browser) SSL VPN access is not allowed".

I have had my router for at approx. a year and a half and it has worked flawlessly. Now my PC which is plugged into the router still works fine, I'm just not able to connect wirelessly anymore. I've tried the basic things like unplugging and rebooting, nothing changes. The lights still say it is transmitting.

I have had a WRT54G V3 router working successfully for a number of years now with a couple wireless PCs through a cable modem with Comcast as my ISP. All of a sudden yesterday, neither PC could access the internet. No changes had been made to the router.
I contacted Comcast and they of course had me hard-wire one of my PCs into the cable modem. That worked and I was able to access the internet. However, when I tried to put the router back in place (in either a wired or wireless fashion), I could not access the internet.
I've tried following the online Linksys troubleshooting document ion. The lights that should be lit on the router are lit. I can access the router setup web page which shows the settings still intact. I've tried going through the power sequencing to no avail. Comcast says my router is the culprit of my problem, but I don't know why it would all of a sudden stop working. My wireless printer still works so it detects a signal and my PC shows it's connected, but no internet access is possible.
What do I need to do? Are there any other diagnostic tools available? I'm out-of-warranty.

I can't access the following a specific website from any computer in my house. I am able to access all other sites. I have tried Firefox, IE, Chrome. All i get is the following error: "The connection has timed out" I called my ISP this morning, and they asked me to try adding a proxy server in IE. That is, Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings > Proxy server > proxy.tpg.com.au:3128, After doing this i was able to access the site! What could this mean?

Is it possible to enable an absolute value rate limit using QOS on a HP ProCurve 5406 switch for a particular IP range on a specific port? Is there a way to configure our HP 5406 with an absolute rate limit on "WAN" port for that server's IP range? I would like to limit it to only being capable of sending 1Mbps worth of traffic over the head end at once.Everything in the documentation points towards priority queues, which as far as I can tell, isn't really what I want.Baring accomplishing this goal using rate limiting is there a better way to prevent our services from accidentally saturating this connection?i thimkong about somthing like that:

Need assistance understanding how in ASDM/Configuration/Site-to-Site VPN/Connection Profiles/ "Any Entry" I can specify that I only want to offer an IKE Proposal of pre-share-aes-256-sha?
The IKE Proposal field has a number of possible options including: pre-share-aes-256-md5, pre-share-3des-md5, pre-share-aes-256-sha, pre-share-aes-192-sha, pre-share-3des-md5, pre-share-aes-sha and pre-share-3des-sha.
I am able to pick a specific IPSec Proposal w/o issue but when I attempt to do the same for the IKE Proposal, and click OK the choice does not "stick" but rather returns to the entire list as defined above.

my laptop, which connects fine to all other wireless networks, has trouble on this one. It can browse the web all day, but the second a large file begins to transfer (video, a file download, etc.) it will drop the connection randomly, usually rather quickly. The computer does not need to be restarted to reconnect, it often reconnects on its own near-immediately, though sometimes I have to go to the system tray and reconnect manually.I thought it was too far from the router, but my tower in the same room connects flawlessly, and going in to the same room as the router doesn't work. This same laptop has been fine on every other network, and every other computer is fine on this network. I've web crawled off and on about this for months, but no one's problem is limited to one computer/network combination.

I got a Problem on a customer which is using a Failover ASA 5510 pair with SSM-CSC-10-K9 modules.The clients have to connect to a webserver where they are doing some calculations.If they prepare everything and want to calculate everything what takes a couple of time the session is after about 3 minutes timedout.My first idea was to set session specific timeouts which are a bit longer then the normal but this setting did not work. Yesterday (Friday, September 21, 2012), my Internet connection started acting up. After some testing, I confirmed a very specific and baffling set of symptoms: Internet connection goes away every 25-35 minutes (I did not confirm the exact interval, but it seems to be about 30 mins.)Only some protocols are affected; HTTP*, P2P, etc. stop working; FTP, etc. continue to work When it’s stopped, cannot even ping router or cable-modem IPs or view their firmware pages Domain-names and IPs are irrelevant (for protocols that stop working, neither work, for those that still work, both work)Resetting router fixes it for another 30 minutes Keeping the connection idle or active doesn’t seem to make a difference (nor the bandwidth usage in that period)Connecting directly to cable-modem allows it to work indefinitely Disconnecting the router from the cable-modem works indefinitely (no Internet connection obviously, but can still access router IP and firmware page)Connecting the router to the cable-modem, but putting the modem on standby also works indefinitelySame problem with both a wireless laptop and wired (on any port) desktop (both Windows 7; will try to test Windows XP when possible)Nothing had changed in the days leading up to the issue. No modifications to the networking configuration or the router; there were not even any Windows updates except for an MSSE definition update.Waiting does not fix it, nor does any amount of fiddling with anything; only resetting the router fixes it for 30 minutes (resetting the cable-modem doesn't work either)if I keep pressing the standby button on the cablemodem after browsing some pages, the connection works indefinitely (If I press the button to restore the connection, browse some pages, press the button again to cut the connection, it works fine for hours and hours without issue. Only when I leave it active for a while does it finally stop. I repeated this for three days with the same results.)I tried cleaning the pins in the router’s plugs, but that didn’t work, which was not really a surprise since I was not getting a lost connection error.
Obviously my first thought was that the router was having a problem, and this is borne out by some tests. The problem is that when it drops, it is not a full drop since I can still do things like ftp ftp.mcafee.com and such which means that the connection and DNS are still working. Moreover, if it were the router, then why does it stay alive indefinitely when not connected to the cable-modem (i.e., no outside influence)?
The problem doesn't seem to be either the cable-modem nor the router, but rather an interaction between the two, like something from the outside (port scan? hacker? ISP?) that is triggering a problem in the router. I see that there have been a couple of vulnerabilities for the DI-524, but those were a while back and should be fixed since I have the last firmware for it.
I don’t think it’s my ISP (Rogers) since I have been using the router for several years without problem and can connect indefinitely when bypassing it. But I can’t rule them out since that is one of the only possible things that could have suddenly changed.
(I note that when I opened the router, I heard a very high-pitched noise from somewhere near the capacitors/ferrite ring which I don’t think I heard the last time I opened it a few years ago, but then if it were that, then why would it affect only a very small, specific set of functions?)
Update:Last week, my Internet connection dropped out for two days. I called the ISP and they had me bring the cable-modem in to be replaced. I exchanged the SB5100 for a new cable-modem that has a built-in router with wireless AP and firewall. (I left it in gateway mode instead of bridge mode.)This morning it started behaving just like the old router. Most protocols continued to work (mail, P2P, NTP, etc.) but web-browsing (HTTP) was dead; I could not even connect to the cable-router’s web-interface. I rebooted the cable-router and HTTP functionality was restored; exactly like the previous router.
I find it highly unlikely that this could be a coincidence or related to the router itself since the new one is literally brand-spanking-new (bagged, twist-ties, in a box, with that new-plastic smell, etc.), and completely different from the old one (the new one is an ISP-branded model labeled “Hitron” while the old one was a D-Link DI-524).

Lately I've been experiencing connection problems between my router and cable modem. Every night after 11:00 PM EST, my Internet connection sporadically goes out. I called my ISP who said there was nothing wrong on their end. Plugging directly into my modem allows me to access the Internet. When I wake up in the morning, the connection is back until 11 or later again. I ran WireShark but I'm not sure what to be looking for. There are a lot of random things from the LLMNR protocol like standard query A zmtvrjaql.

I've read a lot of threads on this and tried a lot of the suggested solutions... nothing has fixed my problem yet.I'm running Windows XP SP2. I've recently been installing a VPN and setting up firewall rules. I didn't have any problems (was using Comodo firewall) until I installed Sygate Firewall. I have 2 servers. 1 is a terminal server windows 2003 sb terminal server.(working fine) and the other is server 2003 small business DC configured with dhcp, dns, SQL, & wins. Last week one of the network programs that is located on the DC started refusing connections.So doing some trouble shooting I noticed that when I ping the server name I get a local address of *.*.*.42 when the address the machine is assigned is *.*.*.5. When I do an Ipconfig /all on the DC it only shows the *.*.*.5 number. I look in DHCP and *.*.*.5 is reserved for the DC Computer. And the *.*.*.42 isn't even in the address leases. I have also looked through the DNS settings and see no alias with the .42 number. And the number does not show up in the reverse lookup zone either.

I've got an issue with one of the businesses I work with. Just yesterday a PC had this problem, and this morning one more followed suit. These PC's were given a 192.168.35.x IP address when configured to take whatever the router gives them, however our Sonicwall TZ190 is configured to hand out a 192.168.20.x IP address over DHCP. There were no secondary IP configurations on the client workstation, no virii, nothing out of the ordinary. When I set a static IP on the client it works fine, but when I put it back to automatic it will once again give itself a 192.168.35.x IP (and subsequently have a gateway of .35.1, somehow). I've checked the router, there's nothing on the LAN side of the network interfaces besides 192.168.20.x.
