DG 192 168 1 1 DNS same.Under router address 192 168 0 1I CANNOT access this router at 192 168 0 1 at all. The thing is, the **bleep** settings are not any different the. The only way I can access the router is by doing a factory reset and accessing it at 192 168 1 1.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a static ip from my isp. I set up my static ip manually through my linksy router. I need the static ip to connect to a private network for my new job but cant connect to that network. I went to whatsmyip and found that my old dynamic ip is still showing up externally, it looks like my ip4 is using the dynamic as a preferred. My question is do i need to manually change the network connection on my LAN and wireless connection under ipv4 to change it from automatically obtain TO use the following address and put in my static? And do I have to change the DNS also? I am on a home network with one desktop on vista home premium and laptop windows 7.

They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 servers. 1 is a terminal server windows 2003 sb terminal server.(working fine) and the other is server 2003 small business DC configured with dhcp, dns, SQL, & wins. Last week one of the network programs that is located on the DC started refusing connections. So doing some trouble shooting I noticed that when I ping the server name I get a local address of *.*.*.42 when the address the machine is assigned is *.*.*.5. When I do an Ipconfig /all on the DC it only shows the *.*.*.5 number. I look in DHCP and *.*.*.5 is reserved for the DC Computer. And the *.*.*.42 isn't even in the address leases. I have also looked through the DNS settings and see no alias with the .42 number. And the number does not show up in the reverse lookup zone either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got an issue with one of the businesses I work with. Just yesterday a PC had this problem, and this morning one more followed suit. These PC's were given a 192.168.35.x IP address when configured to take whatever the router gives them, however our Sonicwall TZ190 is configured to hand out a 192.168.20.x IP address over DHCP. There were no secondary IP configurations on the client workstation, no virii, nothing out of the ordinary. When I set a static IP on the client it works fine, but when I put it back to automatic it will once again give itself a 192.168.35.x IP (and subsequently have a gateway of .35.1, somehow). I've checked the router, there's nothing on the LAN side of the network interfaces besides 192.168.20.x.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set up DHCP reservations to assigned IP addresses based on MAC address. I have to block my kids access at times, and when I do this they simply change their IP address and they circumvent the blocking.Other than punishing the kids (which hasn't worked - and they need computers and Internet for homework), is there anyway to lock a computer to MAC address to IP address so if they change it they won't get network/internet access?I also tried to set up network filtering and I put in all the PCs and devices I wanted to provide access for, including the router, but when I save changes I can no longer access the internet or the router. I have to do factory reset to get back into router config. Also, I'm on 1.30WW. I know 1.34 exists, which I tried on a previous router which died and was replaced by RMA; but this didn't solve any problems.

-dhcpd address 192.168.2.200-192.168.2.231 inside

-dhcpd dns 68.94.156.1 interface outside

Today I installed the 1.0.2.6 Firmware on a RV180W. I only have now two problems regarding the Static DHCP support in the GUI.
1. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > Static DHCP I have no buttons to Add a new static Lease.
2. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > DHCP Lease Clients I can thick a Lease and click on Make Static IP. The result is an error: Operation failed.
I was trying to learn a bit more about routers and therefore tried to acces one of our routers using an external ADSL line at work. The router is a ZYxel Prestige 324. Since I did not have the password I performed a hard reset. Now when I try to acces any website I receive error 105 ERR_ NAME_ NOT_RESOLVEDThe only difference that I can see now is that there is no longer a connection specific DNS suffix assigned.Could this be the issue? If yes how can I configure this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just rebuilt my network and I've encountered a problem with my wireless access. Right now I have a Dlink 2540B modem/wired router. To that is connected an 8-port Dlink 2208 Switch and a Linksys WRT110 wireless router. All the desktops connect via ethernet to the switch and everything is working fine. I just added the WRT110 and specified it would be a secondary router on the network but as soon as I got it connected it killed my internet. I assumed this was because of DHCP being enabled, which was true once I logged in and looked. I of course disabled it and now the internet is back up on the wired portion and I can connect to the wireless router as well. But the only problem now is that my wireless devices are not being assigned IP's at all. Specifically, my Mac says "airport has a self assigned ip address and will not be able to connect to the internet"How are IP's assigned to wireless devices that connect to the network via a wireless router with DHCP disabled?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to working with the ASA 5505 ,VPN and reverse NAT.
The basic setup is as follows. I'm trying to setup a IPsec site to site tunnel with reverse nat on the remote side.
I have as the tunnel up and it passes traffic. I have setup reverse NAT for 172.x.x.1 to translated IP 216.x.2.101 my ASA also has an IP address of 216.x.2.102.
Any connection from 172.x.x.1 to 216.x.2.1 should appear to be comming from 216.x.2.101
When I ping or telnet from 216.116.86.1 to an open port on 216.x.2.101 I get the banner from 172.x.x.1, seems like it is working.
However in my setup I'm only given a singel IP that of the NAT address 216.x.2.101, so when I remove the IP address assigned to the inside interface 216.x.2.102. all conductivity is lost.
When I set the inside interface to 216.x.2.101 and I setup a static NAT rule for 172.x.x.1 to 216.x.2.101, I get a message that says all traffic will be redirected and I will be unable to connect to the ASA.
Once thats in place, and I make any connection from 216.x.2.1 to 216.x.2.101on any port I get a connection but then it's reset, I no longer get the telent banner I was expecting.
My running config is,
ASA Version 8.2(1)

and in ACL Binding, I have to bound this ACL to port where user whose IP is in ALC is connected?
I have a RV110W which is am using as a router (not gateway), because it is connected to the DSL modem (not planning to bridge it) through its WAN port. The DSL modem forwards all PPTP traffic to the RV110W.The only pupose of the RV110W for me is to use it as a VPN router.
Info:
Firmware version: 1.1.0.9
Below are the settings I have:
WAN:
LAN:N.B. The modem runs a DHCP server, so I am relaying the requets to it
VPN:N.B. Also tried with 192.168.0.0 and 12.168.2.0 networks; same thing.
Routing Settings:
Routing Table:NB: 192.168.1.11 and 10 are VPN clients (created automatically).
Firewall:Users are being able to successfully connect to the VPN; however, there are couple of problems:
1. They are not assigned a gateway; hence, not internet connectivty (i want them to use the remote gateway)
2. They are not able to access the 192.168.0.0 network; hence unable to reach their DNS server and other hosts (run a tracert; they couldn't go beyond the RV110W VPN server IP). For this, i tried to turnoff the firewall on the RV110W, and also tried to create and Access Rule to allow all outboud and inbound traffic between LAN and WAN, but no success.
(Router is ISR 1921)This is doing my head in. I am not using NAT, there are no ACLs, there is no split horizon. Here is what I have. It is practically generated by CCP. When connected I cannot ping the loopback interface or the gig0/0 interface, (not to mention anything else).
