At our small business I would like to be able to test connecting to some of our websites as an external IP address user outside of our network although still being physically connected to the internal network. Any thoughts on the simplest way to set this up? I have the capability to setup vlans on our switch, could I make one of the vlans/ports have an external connection instead of an internal?

But once i upgraded it wouldn't allow me to connect. my other computers are able to but not my main one. My ISP told me to bring it in to the shop cause they said something was blocking my connection. I ran some basic things i saw on the internet. i am able to get to web pages through ip address but not through the [URL] type ones.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI am using Comcast as an ISP and have a standalone Arris modem. I, obviously, have a DIR-655 router REV B with a firmware revision on 2.00NA. I have already turned off packet shaping and QOS. Also, I have set the firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for both TCP and UDP, and assigned static IP addresses to my computers. The problem I am having is that whenever I go to any secure websites, i.e. anything that starts with https, it takes an extraordinary long time to log in and to navigate to any webpages therein. I also cannot upload photos to a website and when I try the Speed-test.net website the download speed is OK but the upload test errors out, it doesn't connect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe aDSL circuit is up and connected and I can reach the internet, however not all sites on the internet are reachable. This is occurring on two seperate 887VA’s and the circuit has been tested with a netgear router and no issues occur. The router has been tried on 5 different ADSL connections and the same problem occurs although more websites can be reached on a home broadband connection (ADSL2+ Annex A) as opposed to the problem being more severe on an ADSL2+ Annex M circuit. The problem seems to affect websites that are full of adverts more than sites that have single domain landing pages.
The sites that I cannot reach are pingable. This happens on multiple machines behind the router. The same config is used on an cisco 877-M router with no issues.

Regarding to subject above, I using Cisco 1921/K9 which I have bought from ECSM on 19-march 2012 currently facing a problem with the cisco. My problem is the I can’t browse most of the webpages and very slow browsing even I’m using Unifi 10mbps .
I couldn't open websites ex. msn.com / yahoo.com but if i bypass the cisco router there is no issue appear. I have checked the setup and there are no problem on the configuration or the Unifi line . I think it would be any hardware problem. I have attached the info of configuration the cisco .
I have an Asus laptop that is about 6 months old. My husband has a MAC. Both computers are located in the living room and the wireless external drive is located in the office along with our wireless router and printer. I have no issues connecting to the router or printer, however it is extremely slow when I connect to the external drive if I can even get it to connect. My husband has no issues connecting to the external drive. I don't understand.

I configured Vlan1 (inside) and Vlan2(outside) and all seems to work correctly. Network clients can use Internet and ping internal LAN. But I've some problems with vpn and other services: 1. when I try to connect to external VPN server the connection procedure stopped in username/password validation (if I try directly, without firewall ASA, there's no problem) 2.I've problems also to see external security cam working trough a web server. I open port 1723 - 500 and GRE. What can I do more?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a user using a Latitude D820 running Windows XP. It's a slow machine, but it's been working generally fine up until yesterday, when it started having connection issues.
When connected via an ethernet cable, the laptop can connect to everything on our internal network (fileserver, Exchange, internal websites), but anything outside (Google, other websites) is inaccessible (Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage). External sites will then be accessible after a few minutes, then connectivity will be lost in about another 5 - 15 minutes. This process repeats seemingly endlessly. We've replicated this in separate offices, so it's not the wiring. And everything works fine running off of the wireless.
Things we've tried:
Disabling the 1394 Connection
Disabling the wireless connection
Disabling all non-LAN adapters
Restarting the computer
Disabling/re-enabling the LAN connection
Updating the network card drivers
Resetting IE's settings
Cleaning out the user's temporary internet files
Logging into the machine as a different user (local administrator)
Things we know aren't causing the problem:
Firewall
Antivirus
Our network
Proxies
I have several drives that are accessed through a LAN but as soon as I connet to another drive through VPN all the drives get disconnected. According to the IT people this is a feature of VPN for security reasons and there is no way to access those drives.Anyone knows if there is a way to connect to the VPN drive and the local LAN drives without getting the LAN drives disconnected?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company is moving the datacenter to our new building on Saturday, however the users will remain at the old building until late next month so they bought a 100M Metro E VPLS circuit through their ISP. I went to test it today but could not ping the workstation from my laptop. I wanted to do some bandwidth testing with iperf but could never get to that point because ICMP connectivity wasn't even there. From what I understand, VPLS is just a layer 2 extension so they way I'm testing the circuit below SHOULD work, but it isn't. Spoke with the ISP and they tested the circuit end-to-end on their equipment which was fine so am I missing something?

I am using NAT also in this configuration. It is a very simple build, basically stating that all traffic inbound on this sub-interface is to use a next hop of x.x.x.x
My testing is not working, but i need clarity on this. For different reasons, i am not able to tests with hosts on the relevant VLAN yet, as there is not. So i am testing on the local router using the sub-interface as the source IP. i.e. 'ping 8.8.8.8 souce int fa0/0.99' or telnet www.cisco.com 80 source fa0.0.99
Nat appears to be working, but my debug on ip policy is not showing any hits. Will my tests work when i am sourcing packets from the locally connected interface?
I have done a bunch of research in trying to re-use an old card/router for testing our new MPLS link. I have a 45m DS3 and was wondering if the PA-MC-T3= card will work UN-channelized. I have tried the "no channelized" command under the controller to no avail. I believe that the card only works for channelized T1's.

It is full of great open source testing tools and has easy to use instructions for them all.However, to be more specific, I am looking for a packet generator that can simulate network packets over an extended amount of time. So the end result is I have this generator test my physical network for an hour but it simulates a week of real network traffic. Any tool, ideally it be open source?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tested QoS on the new E3000? Whenever I add an application (e.g. Voice Device) and set priority to Medium or High, my upstream bandwidth for everything else is immediately cut significantly, even when I'm not using the priority application.
For example, with QoS disabled, I can consistently get 10Mb upstream (speedtest.comcast.net). As soon as I enable QoS, upstream is capped to exactly 2Mb! On my old router, there was an option to set the total upstream bandwidth -- but on the E3000 there is no such option that I can find.
I am looking for the way how to disagle logging of one user. We are using one testing user for checking accesibility of ACS from large number of switches - this checking exhausting logs quite quickly. Is it possible to disable logging of such user?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working at a client site today. The client has a large Frame Relay Hub Spoke network. The Hub is at the HQ location, and then there are about 15 spoke sites in remote offices.
We are having an issue with the frame between the HQ and one of the spokes. We are currently working with our dear friends at AT&T to troubleshoot the issue. AT&T yesterday was trying to run a local loop test to the router at the remote (spoke) end. We were working iwth them in trying to put the remote router (which we manage) into a loopback mode. We were trying to use controller commands
