Dec 29, 2011I am using Beetel 450TC1 router with my MTNL Triband (India) internet connection. The router is connected to my PC through an ethernet port. The other devices (laptops and cell phones) connect to the router through WiFi.As I usually download movies through my PC (connected to ethernet) and it hogs a lot of bandwidth, I want to give my PC (or P2P applications) the lowest priority. Thus, when multiple devices are connected and the PC is downloading a huge file, the other users should not get a poor bandwidth/ speed.I accessed the QoS settings page, but it has a lot of fields and I dont know the meaning of most of them.

Mar 9, 2011I want to configure my router to use 2 ADSL lines each with a dialer and a modem in RFC2684 mode. I have a 2821 (IOS 12.4) with an HWIC-4ESW.
My network topology is like this :
ADSL Modem 1 (RFC2684) --
(Fa0/0/0)
Router -- (Gi0/1) MyLAN
(Fa0/0/1)
ADSL Modem 2 (RFC2684) --/
1. I configure my DSL Modem in RFC 2684. The first use 172.16.0.2/29 and the second 172.16.0.3/29. I connect this devices to Fa0/0/0 and Fa0/0/1.
2. I configure Vlan1 to use the network configured on my modem :
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.16.0.1 255.255.255.248
3. I try to ping my devices :
#ping 172.16.0.2
Type escape sequence to abort.

Connecting Wifi Router To Adsl Modem
Nov 22, 2012I have a problem connecting wifi router(airlive wt-2000r) to my ADSL modem(webstar epc2203ed2.0) using utp patch cable. When my PC is connected straight to the ADSL modem everything works like charm. But when I connect modem with wan port on the router and router with my PC I get no internet access. The network shows as unidentified network and win7 troubleshooter says: Default gateway not available. Connecting them two devices seems pretty simple and I dont think I am doing anything wrong so what could be the problem?

Dec 26, 2012I have a wire ADSL connection and I use ADSL WiFi enabled router for distribute my internet connection with in my other devices (on my home network). When I downloading large files (more than 30MB) over the internet using my WiFi connection, my connection drop several times. However if I exchange large files within my WiFi network (with in home network via WiFi), my WiFi connection not drop (I can exchange 6GB files without any issue). Why is that? Is it my router issue or my ADSL connection issue? Most of the time after I lost internet connection, i can see my WiFi connectivity standby, it's not disconnect. However some time it completely disconnect. After I lost the connection (standby or completely disconnected) it again automatically connect.
I face this issue if i download large files on the internet, via the WiFi, if i download large files on internet using Ethernet cable, my connection not drop, it's stable. I use default wireless settings on my router? I use open WiFi connection.

Feb 16, 2012I have two WRT54GS routers. I want to extend my WiFi from the router connected to my upstream in the office to a second router in the living room. I want devices configured for the SSID and passphrase of my current WiFi (which is find in the office) to work seamlessly in the living room. I understand I can do this by running a cable and configuring router 2 as a client of router 1 with router 2 exposing the same SSID and passthrase on a different channel.
But I really don't want to run a cable.There is a point where a client can see router 1 where an AP would cover the living room.
Can I put router 2 at that point, have it connect wirelessly as a client to router 1, and have it expose as an AP using the same SSID and passphrase? Can this be done without wiring the router?

However, I am having some problems. I have already configured the router as "router" and not "Gateway" and I am trying to assign it an IP address different from the default one, which is the one the gateway has, and a ranger of DHCP IP's, also different from those of the Gateway. In other words, 192.1681.N.1 for the router and start from there.
