When my PC is connected straight to the ADSL modem everything works like charm. But when I connect modem with wan port on the router and router with my PC I get no internet access. The network shows as unidentified network and win7 troubleshooter says: Default gateway not available. Connecting them two devices seems pretty simple and I dont think I am doing anything wrong so what could be the problem?

The other devices (laptops and cell phones) connect to the router through WiFi.As I usually download movies through my PC (connected to ethernet) and it hogs a lot of bandwidth, I want to give my PC (or P2P applications) the lowest priority. However due to change in locality, I had to subscribe to a new connection of ISP-2, however the modem is not working even after hard reset.The ISP-2 network guy is not able to figure out the problem. They swapped the modem with their own modem which was working fine, however the beetel modem is not working. In the beetel modem DSL and WLAN links are working perfectly however the Internet link is not working.

Feb 6, 2012We have a pair of ACS 4.1 servers (Windows Server 2003 R2). Let's call them ACS1 and ACS2. We don't want either one of them to proxy to any AAA server, including each other. We're using mostly TACACS authentication.
While troubleshooting a general problem, I'm guessing that one of us did this on ACS1:
pressed the Network Configuration button,saw the Proxy Distribution Tableclicked (Default)moved ACS1 from the AAA Servers column to the Forward To column.
So, essentially, we're telling ACS1 to proxy all requests to itself, which doesn't seem to make sense. I don't know for sure whether it should work when configured to "self proxy," but in that state, it does not authenticate anyone and gives merely "Internal error" as the reason.
If I change the configuration so that "ACS2" appears in the Forward To column, and I move "ACS1" back to AAA Servers and restart, ACS1 starts responding correctly to TACACS requests. Of course, ACS1 is just proxying all requests to ACS2, so having two servers isn't doing much good.
I cannot simply remove ACS1 from the Forward To column and leave it empty. The interface complains that it can't forward to zero servers. Of course, on ACS2, there are no servers in the Forward To column, since we never touched the Proxy Distribution Table there.
Is there any way to return the Proxy Distribution Table to its default setup, that is, no servers appear in the "Forward To" column?
We're planning to upgrade to version 4.2 very soon, so this question is mostly academic, unless the same problem exists in 4.2.
For full disclosure, I should mention that the problem we were troubleshooting was loss of connectivity to our Windows Domain Controllers from our ACS servers. We had missed adding some exceptions in our firewalls to allow for four new DCs. As far as we can tell from testing, connectivity to the DCs is now fine. The firewall rules group ACS1 and ACS2 together, so connectivity should be the same, and ACS2 authenticates users correctly.

I don't know which is best suited for me. I used SDM and configured ADSL. When i checked the configuration from console i found that there is atm0.2 and dialer 2 configured with my settings. I cannot understand what is the purpose of atm0.2 and dialer 2 when atm0 and dialer0 are there. Is there a doc on ADSL config on 837?

Dec 12, 2011I am configuring a 1841 router for use in small out office. I will use the s0/0/0 for main WAN T1 connection. I then wanted to use the ATM0/1/0 WIC-1-ADSL card as a failover. I am using weighted static routes for failover. Fe0/0 is LAN interface. When I go into SDM and look at the ATM interface it says this configuration is unsupported?
1. Can't I just get a DSL modem and connect it to fe0/1 and not use ATM WIC and use below for failover?
2. If I have to use ATM WIC what needs to be configured for it to work with Att aDSL?

It will connect and operate fine via the hardwired RJ45 ethiernet connection. If I set the network up on the wireless router to an open network I can connect to it just fine. I have no issues opening IE8 when connected to an unsecured network. This box did work until I was reimiaging an desktop that had issues and used a usb thumb drive to store files from the desktop to the netbook prior to wiping the desktop.
