Oct 20, 2012
Our Motel has a new CenturyLink DSL Wifi Modem at the office desk, and I'm trying to get wifi to all customers via (3) Linksys WRT110 wfi routers that are in the attic. How do you configure the routers so all put a wifi signal out with the same network name ? I keep getting limited connections & etc...
In the bottom floor there are three computers, an iMac computer that receives an average wireless Internet signal, desktop computer and a laptop.I want to take care of the desktop computer and buy a network card, the next card:TP-Link TL-WN951NNow it has three antennas, each of its reception range is 2 dbiI should buy three of the 10 dbi antennas and connect them to the network card?It will give a good solution strong wireless signal and good speed?
I am having problem using the N300 dual-Ban Wi-Fi Range extender with my att 2wire 3800HGV-B router. Cannot use the extender to access the internet. The Att router works without it. Just want to use the extender to extend my att router signal but cannot.
Sending WiFi signal about 1/4 mile from my home to where my daughter lives so she can use her Samsung Galaxy2 Tablet on WiFi.There are homes, condos and trees in between us, so it is not a clear path.So far this is what I have done.I am using a modem and a Netgear WNR834B Wireless N Router.I connected a Hawkins Laptop Extender (HWREN Wireless 150N Mini Extender * single antenna outlet) into the router and connected a WiFi cable from the Hawkins to my tower outside above my roof and have attached a 10 dbi gain Trendnet antenna (omnidirectional) to the cable. But still the WiFi signal doesn't seem to be very strong at all when I test with my phone. And obviously, my daughters tablet does not see my router when she has her tablet search for WiFi.I also tried a 14dbi WIfi ASUS directional antenna and basically came up with the same outcome... she could not see the WiFi signal..My daughter lives in a condo and is not capable or allowed to install any outside antenna system whatsoever.
I um using ATT UVERSE for my Internet connection. Now I use a Net-gear what is plugged into the PC and into the ATT "Gateway" How they call it. What is how I see it nothing different than a Router with ATT Logo on, but now to my question I have a LAN Cable going to my living room and have a switch there for all my TV ? PO-Box for streaming my direct TV Internet etc. Now I have not perfect Wireless in the whole house.. no I thought can I use the Net-gear Router in the Living room instead of a switch and also send a wireless signal from there.
I have a WN3000RP WiFi Range Extender but I cannot seem to find out how to connect to it on my Windows 7 Desktop computer to configure it. My Router is a Netgear Wireless G RouterWGR614 v9
I have one cisco 2851 router and one watchguare firewal currently being used as the main router. I want to connect the cisco as a secondary router on the same network.
I have a laptop connected to internet via a router using WiFi.My desktop computer doesn't have a WiFi connection. I want to connect my laptop and my desktop computer using an ethernet cable in order to access the internet on my desktop computer. I've been fiddling around for over two hours with no luck so far. Both computers are on Windows 7.
Network set up; wireless router (D-link DIR825) to Cisco switch (SD208p) and have Wap200 hooked to cisco switch to extend range up one floor. Can see it as wireless network, but cannot configure it with web browser. Address 192.168.1.245 just times out via pings as well. Have done all resets, power on reset, etc nothing.
how to cofiger a network printer in a network, i am using a bsnl broadband connection with user id and psw. all systems are getting internet but printers are not connecting to print.
I have a bit of an unusual networking situation here in my home and need proper configuration, so I stop losing my web connection on a daily basis. The reason I'm forced to have the 2nd router is that my wife telecommutes and the 1st (primary router) is provided by her company. For whatever reasons, her company will not allow the wireless radio in their router to be turned ON - which forces me to add the 2nd wireless router for our 3 computers that require wireless access.
1 - Since the primary router has DHCP enabled, I am assuming that I should Disable DHCP on my wireless router. Am I correct?
2 - What other settings on the wireless router do I need to pay particular attention to in this situation?
In my house I have a BT Business Hub wireless router at one end of my house. I am looking to extend the wireless range of my network into the kitchen at the other end of the house, which is a rather large distance away. The house is 200 years old with large corridors and thick walls. There is absolutely no wireless range from about halfway between the office and kitchen. I initially tried two powerline adapters which did not work. Having spoken with an electrician who carried out a rewire on the house, I have been advised that the two areas are on a separate ring main.I considered using two wireless range extenders, but have been told that the signal is halved for each extender that I use.So, I have had the idea of trying to use two DSL routers at each side of the house. There is a phone point in the office and also in the kitchen, where the second router would plug into. These are both on the same telephone line.
I need configuring my N900 router to be able to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection to get into my computer from a client's location. I also want to be able to host websites I'm developing so my clients can see the changes before publishing to their website. I have not been able to find anywhere what settings to set to what in order for these two things to be available to me.
As per settings menu, I tried to give it an IP address but the new address is not accessible for further configuration. When I connected to the router it status changes to "unidentified network".
My primary network address range is 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.10. So I gave address to belkin as 192.168.1.100. But I can not access this address from both primary and belkin network.
What i am trying to do is that i have a server in my store which has a running software for the store. I have a TP Link Wifi card installed in my pc.. i need to access the server using an ip through the ethernet cable. And i access the internet via the wifi device installed and running in my pc. the problem now here is that i cannot access both of the simultaneously. If i connect back the ethernet cable the browser does not browse or the internet does not work.. and i can access my server software.. as i unplug the ethernet cable my wifi card installed starts working all good and i can use the internet.. i have tried a little of soultions but have not been successfull enough to use both the connections simultaneously..
is this network able to handle wifi 200 clients?Load balancing QNO FQR7110[URL]Access point: TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N Range Extender (TL-WA830RE)[URL].My client is all students... and all of them will connect to the internet by using Wireless connection. So i estimate 12APs for them.. each access point will have around 17 clients...and the 6 APs will be connect to 1 HP 1910 Switch Series 8 ports switch...*Note: the switch is Smart managed switch, but im not going to setup it.. i will just plug and play..May i know it is suitable to use that model of device to setup the network with 200 clients? The load balancer and switch it is enough Processor and RAM?
I have two wifi routers which I have connected together with an ethernet cable to extend coverage across my house. The ethernet cable is connected to a LAN port on the first router and the internet port of the second router. This works fine and creates a second network that I can connect to the net on. The problem iseemingly randomly, about every 15 minutes, the second router will lose internet connection. My laptops and phone still stay connected to it, but windows lists it as having no internet connection. If I then wait a couple of minutes and reconnect, internet will be working again.
I have a linksys E1200 router connected to a modem Zyxel P600 Series, and I suffer every 24 hours exact connections with the modem connected only works perfect, but with the router every 24 hours Connection signal is lost no or limited so look for a guide aver if set correctly.
I have a wireless router that rests across the house next to the modem. The signal is too weak to reach to the other side of the house. Is there a way to boost the signal so I can get wifi from across the house or any other way to get an internet connection without several fifty foot wires going across the house?
I want to connect myself on my friend router by wifi but i cannot see the network what should i do ,what usb receiver anntena is the best or what i nedd to buy and is working 100 % maybe is 400 meter is the distance but sure is not 1 mile
i get a bunch of lag when i play counterstrike, etc. In game, my ping is always tripling other players'. I know it isnt my computer because it is basically amazing. Im pretty sure it is my wifi because i'm in the top floor of my house and my router is in the basement. I'm using a usb wireless card. What can i do to get a better signal.
My parents ditched their Comcast cable last year. Their house association has provided 'Wifi' for everyone in the neighborhood as part of the association fee. However, signal is very weak, even though they are one of the closest to the Wifi Antennas. They have a laptop, two desktops, and one Ipad. Their laptop seems fine. Both of the desktop, however, are very slow. It's slower than 56k. It's almost unbearable. They still have all their modems/router from Comcast. I am wondering a way to get the Wifi signal, and use the Comcast Router to create a Wifi in their house again so they can print wireless and use netflix and things like that. I don't know the exact definition for it. I'm just wondering if it can be done.
I have an Echolife router, HG532, connected as my main router. It is connected using cable and I use it for wifi too. The signal in other rooms is very weak and I was wondering if it's possible to use a spare router that I have, Echolife HG521, to extend the network coverage?
They have a NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Firewall FVX538 on 192.168.1.1. They have 2 different wi-fi routers, one is static at 192.168.1.4, the other is not static.Someone donated a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router. They asked me to set that up. But i cannot get to the home page to change the IP address. 'multiple routers' it says to simply unplug one, so you can get to the config page at 192.168.1.1. I can not unplug the main router for the business, right? Do i need to change the IP of the Netgear temporarily? Will that bring down the network?
I have a F5D7231-4 router and I would like to know:
1) if it can serve as network extension (wifi)? from main wifi router 2) if I can setup a local network getting ip from my iphone, then using DHCP to have on same network my ipad, and a printer?
I just got a job at a School district that has an extremly old and basic network setup (No Firewall, only 2 accounts on the server Student and Teacher). They have two small buildings that have 1 wireless router on each floor about in the middle of the hallway. I am having a strange issue I haven't seen before with a windows 7 laptop that a few of the teachers in the district are having. They can see the wireless router on the network but everytime they try and connect it says "Windows Cannot Connect or is Denied Access". All the other laptops in the building connect fine.Heres what I have done so far.
-Power cycled the router, nothing. -ipconfig /release, and renew, nothing. -Getting closer to the router and connecting, nothing. (Also tried with a differant laptop in the room and it could connect no problem which confused me more) -Updating the network card.(says it has the latest updates) -Re-entering the network key, nothing
What I haven't tried is setting up manually a static IP. But do I need to do that? And if so how do I know which IP to give it is there a way I can generate a list of all the IP's on the network?
went to set up ps3 and see that the wifi signal is particularly bad (30%) for online. There is no possible way of getting the router near the ps3.I am think that a pair of tp-link powerlines may play a role here, but may be mistaken. What are peoples experiences. would something like that increase ps3 signal? would 200mbps or 500mbps be better (they do diffferent models). I understand that it would make the connection for the ps3 wired, but am I right in thinking the laptop would just operate over wifi as it does already?
I have a laptop with a Bigfoot 1103 n wifi card and up til now it has been working perfect for our location.cWe had to move our office down a few doors and now we get NO reception at all. My laptop will pick up the network momentarily then loose the signal. My question is : how to boost reception?I have no access to the modem or router either. Do they make a decent booster that I can plug in my usb that will work with my current wifi card?
