I am learning the 2911 router. Is there a way to set a physical single RJ45 port to handle multiple WAN IPs? Or do I need to buy a port expansion module.

Teleco installed T1 and left connection to smart jack. Router only has 2-3 copper ports.
Can I get away with configuring the blackbox with RJ45 to the copper port on the router ethernet or do I need to purchase a HWIC ?
I have Cisco L3 3560G switch which directly connected with router . i have configured Vlan 2,3 on the switch and assign port 2 & 3 respectably. I want to management both vlan 2 & 3 from from L3 port g0/10 .

We have a web-server on an inside interface listening on a non standard port - 20111. We have created a static NAT translating the public ip to the private, so If I do http://public-ip:20111 it works. (we are using a seperate public IP for this service only).
Now I need to create a NAT rule that will forward requests on BOTH port 80 and 443 to the same private ip and the same port number (20111)
The Private address is 10.99.250.20 and the "public" (I've replaced it in this example) is 172.16.16.16 I have managed to create a NAT that will translate 443 to 20111:
object network 10.99.250.20 nat (Private-DMZ,Outside) static 172.16.16.16 service tcp 20111 https
But if I try to add another rule like: nat (Private-DMZ,Outside) static 172.16.16.16 service tcp 20111 http It will simply replace the first one.
Is it possible to redirect both 80 and 443 from outside to the same port number and same IP on the inside?
I am wondering if xconnect L2TPV3 feature could be done on multiple SVI interfaces on 871 router and 2911 router with built in 8 port switch?Like I need to extend two ethernet interfaces and can I use two SVIs on router built-in switch module on each side?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to configure a 3750 switch port to be able to use two vlans. I know you can do this with a voice and data vlan, but what about two data vlans ? Say I have two devices, one on a 10 subnet and the other on a 172 subnet, but i only have one wall jack for both devices to plug into. So I use a mini switch to connect both devices and connect the switch to the wall jack; and of course this all leads back to one switch port. When I go to enter the switchport access vlan 172 cmd, how would I also make it so the device on the 10 subnet could route out ?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI've been using a WRT120N on a local area connection.The WRT120N acts as a gateway and also to connect to the PPOE connection, via a bridged adsl modem.I've noticed that the LAN port 1 was flashing although the network cable was disconnected from the physical port. I've restarted a few times but to no avail as well. Ever since that, I've noticed that connection through cable are unstable and hard.Now, I'm not able to reset or upgrade the router's firmware.Is there any other way to be done so that I can get this router working as normal again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a Cisco 2911 router in our company. I didn't set it up myself nor I was involved. I only started working here recently, bit over 3 months ago. I have been given ongoing task which other IT Technicians been struggling for almost a year with a idea that maybe because I'm fresh person in the company I will find a original idea why could this thing not work.
Our router have a problem with blocking a single IP address, but not completely It's hard to explain but I will try my best. Company is hosting their website externally and accessing the host and FTP on the host on daily bases. It is important for the website to work on the internal network in company. It does work sometimes, but from time-to-time the website showing time-out error 118 on any point before Cisco router using both http and https, have tried putting just the IP address( doesn't matter is it on the general network or last ISA server on DMZ ). I am able to connect to the website using any of proxy gates but not directly to the website. I have also tested the connection past the router and I was able to connect to the website without any problems. I am also able to ping the host's address from the router and internal network.
I have eliminated the possibility of not correctly setup proxy or firewall on the network as problem also occur on the DMZ. I have also checked access-lists on the router and firewall rules for Any possibilities and I can't really see a way why would the router do this.
Is it possible to use my atom mini itx with pci + pci nic card and creating a firewall? No possible problems between using the motherboard port and a pci port? I'd like to fool around with smoothwall or another firewall software.

I have buildings geographically dispersed that are configured with multiple vlans in interface groups so that I can maintain an addressing scheme of dhcp assigned addresses per building. Each building is also further grouped as AP groups. I'd like to know if by assigning the same wlan ssid to each of the AP groups, will I maintain addressing integrity for each building? I'm thinking it will work.
Do the buildings have to be outside AP range of each other to avoid problems?

Am trying to understand how we can have multiple IP addresses on a single NIC and what are the restrictions on the same. If i can have two IPs from two different networks present on a single NIC, then why would i ever get a new NIC?
Also, i want to understand the concept of virtual IP and how it fits into this picture.
I have an older DELL power edge 2800. Currently we have 2 NIC's one for the WAN one for the LAN. I wish to increase my users access speed. Can I team and or bond up to Four NIC's on the LAN side and leave the single NIC for the WAN? I am having trouble finding any info on the net for pulling this off. I have 67 users and throughput is getting a little rough.

I've been tasked with breaking up a network that has run out of IP's, and have decided to use VLANs to accomplish this. I have to use an ASA5510 to accomplish all the routing between hosts in different VLANs.Port 48 is trunked to the ASA eth0/0 interface, with VLAN 99 and VLAN 20 tagging packets, VLAN 1 Untagged. Hosts hooked up to appropriate ports on Switch.
I created a wlan just for our wireless IP phones.I assigned an interface I created which in turn was set to a specific port on company 2504 WLC. Connecting switchport is set to trunk. Right now I can't ping the voice wlan interface.

We have recently purchased 2 x 4900M switches with the following configuration:
2 x X2-10GB-SR installed in port te1/1, 1/2 (optical)
1 x 20 x 1GB RJ45 installed in the top left of chasis ge2/1 - 2/20
1 x WS-X4908-10G-RJ45 8 port 1/2 card in the top right of chassis te3/1 - 3/8
We have te1/1 connecting the 2 switches, and various vlan's and connections on the 1GB RJ45's with no problems.
However, we have a number of 10Gbps BaseT connections te3/1 - te3/5 which are causing us issues. On a reload of the switch or removal / re-install of the cable it can take anywhere up to an hour for the port to become active again. So when we reload the switch, we may get a connection come up after say 3 mins, but the port next to it may not come up for 15-60 min. The cabling is all the same (CAT6 and has been tested/verified) and all connections go to Broadcom 10Gb cards in Dell 820 servers running vmware. We have the following set on the ports:
switchport mode access
spanning-tree portfast
No speed or duplex can be set on these ports - these options are not available in the config.
Once a link is finally established, it will hold the link solid with no problems, but this is a problem for us, we can't have a reboot take an undetermined amount of time for the link to come back.
I need to put a few cameras, without a server, on a static WAN ip address. Do I just assign them a static LAN ip address(for example 192.168.1.200), make sure the port they use is open, then type the WAN static ip address then colon and the last address? Like this.....I'm making up the WAN address....45.34.55.334:200

So I took the IP addresses from the redundant switch, with that I found MAC addresses from the access switch.But when I tried to see to which ports these MAC are addresses are connected to, multiple MAC addresses are resolving to the same switchport. like 5 MAC's are showing to 1 port and other 3 MAC's are showing to other port, like this there are many. All these MAC's belong to virtual servers.

Once the computer turned on i want the option of which login for the current computer to use, it can login it current computer or the mutiples computer with their content/data all inside. So more like an computer linked. Example, it can only to A or B, A is the current computer data, while B have all the data of the different computer monitor datas, and if i login B it will show that current computer info. And same goes to the B computer, i can login to A or B on the B computer. What makes this very good is that, both the computer logins are sort of connected, for example if im on actual computer A, but logined to computer B and downloaded/changed some files/data on the B login, once i login on computer B to login B, the changes will apply even tho the changes are done in computer A.

I'm now trying to establish a site to site VPN from both remote offices. I have my crypto maps, NoNats, and interesting traffic set up however, I do not even see phase one come up.
I've attached each config. Most of my site to site experience is on PIX's and ASA so I'm curious if there is something else I need to do on my outside interface to allow multiple VPN's?
We are about to install a cisco 2911 router to replace a linux based router.
The Cisco will have 5 gig ports, 4 ports connected to DSL modems each modem connected to a different ISP, and the last port connected to a Cisco LAN switch.
802.1q will be used on the internal router port to split the LAN segments up into VLAN's as the building contains lots of different businesses.
Each customer in the building has there own servers and set of public IP addresses assigned e.g
Customer A - ISP 1 uses 81.34.65.78 NAT'd to 10.0.0.1 Vlan 5 port 25 (SMTP)
Customer B - ISP 2 uses 217.23.67.87 NAT'd to 192.168.1.1 Vlan 6 port 25 (SMTP)
and so on
The outbound traffic also needs to go out of the correct DSL line which ever has been assigned to that customer.
Am i right in thinking the only way to do this will be to use "Route Maps" ??
