Using Wifi And Lan For Internet Connection At The Same Time?

It is usually by a router or install a third party software without anyone saying if it works or not.
I have two connections at home. One is a Wifi ( public wifi for my village) that i use for my phone and the other one is a wired dsl. I have used both but not on the same time. I tried connecting them both ( phone have tethering) but I think they are interfering with each other making me lose connection. I am using vista home.
I have seen the merge connections( in network and sharing center) and i have seen this one [URL].. but I am a little bit wary of changing my registry.

I have DIR-615 Cx (bought in Taiwan) Hardware C2 ver. I reflashed with DIR-615 firmware from Singapore to get English interface. I connect to a internet through another router on which I setup D-Link on DMZ with port forwarding. Router works fine, I have internet connection. So the question is: I have small cafe and want to offer customers WiFi connection. I want to setup a time limit and allow them to browse only internet not internal network. (When I connect laptop to D-Link Wifi I can see my NAS on different subnet connected to cable modem/router) And if its possible to limit bandwidth. Can I do it with DIR-615 and how to configure such a setup?

I hav two different internet connections by different service providers,one is LAN and other is WIRELESS.whn i turn off the WI-FI button n put the lan connection thn it shows connected but pages dnt open and a reload message comes and thn i unplug LAN n turn on the WI-FI conctn thn i m able to connect and surf.so, i m only able to use the wireless one..

I have WRT54G2 router. All settings are more-less default and the behavior is following.You start up the router. If you do not connect wireless device within 10 minutes, then you have to restart the router.You have assigned IP via wifi, and when you connect cable device to the router, the wifi PCs are disconnected.

At around 2:30 PM each day, the internet slows down, and it says its connected but with limited access. A few minutes later, it gets full connection again, but it is super slow, then the same cycle starts over again. It stops happening around 8:00 PM.

Internet cable to dir655 and cat5 to master computer with slave using wireless. Network between them always works fine. But if master connects to internet the slave will lose the internet until the master disconnects. like it won't share the signal.

I have two routers one is a o2 router which is for the internet (broadband) the other is an old bt home hub which i have connected to the printer via usb. In order to print a document at the moment i have to disconnect my laptop from the broadband router and connect it to the printer router.Is there any way that i can connect to the two router s at the same time so that i while printing i can still keep my internet connection.

Is the WAG320N iPv6 compatable ? ,or could it be with a firmware update ?.Is the X2000 in the same boat in iPv6 terms as th WAG320N ?.Is there a way of retrieving "UPTIME" / "DSL connection time" information from the WAG320N and also line attenuation stats etc.Wouldn't need the above but poor isp needs keeping an eye on.

I have two laptops which connect to the router via wireless. This router is wired to the modem. I can connect each laptop to the router then make an internet connection. This works fine. But if one laptop is connected to the internet, then the other cannot. I have to disconnect the first laptop then reconnect with the second.
I have had this scenario working in the past and can't remember what I have to do to enable both laptops to use the internet connection at the same time.

One of my laptops is having a connection problem. I have 3 other laptops that can connect perfectly with my router, and normally there's only 1 laptop that is connected to my router. The laptop with the slow connection (takes 5 HOURS to load a website, sometimes will not even load), i re-installed the OS, and installed all the drivers needed, and it still wont work. it shows strong connection to me, and im sure the password for the router is right. below is the ipconfig/all information. Having this problem for 2+ weeks now!!! I think this problem started when i restored my router to factory setting, my router is Netgear WGR614v6.

My Latitude D630 has been dropping internet connection all the time for the past three days. I looked up similar problems on this blog: a) cleared the DNS cache, b) downloaded windows XP- service pack 3, & 3 network software recommended for my laptop by Dell from the website and updated to the Intel PROSET/Wireless WIFI connection utility, d) ran ipconfig/all from C prompt and know the ethernet connections are disabled, e) called and checked with our local ISP and cleared the connection from their end. To sum it, I have tried everything I know and am still not able to maintain a steady connection to the net using WIFI. However I am able to connect using the cable to the router, so my net provider said the problem is with the wireless connection on the laptop. I didnt have this problem before.

Right guys, after looking at a few university's at open days, the one thing I realised is that all the halls of residence only have cabled Internet.Basically you have to plug an Ethernet into your computer/laptop to get online, only problem is, I have recently switched to an iPad. (Wifi only)My idea was to take one of my old wireless routers from home and just plug the Ethernet cable into the router and bingo, I have wireless Internet? Is this correct? If not, can you let me know how I should go about getting wireless Internet in my dorm.

I have a laptop (Win XP SP3) which connects to the Internet via wireless connection. Configuration is as follows:
Laptop connects to AP1 (wireless) AP1 connects to AP2 (ethernet cable) AP2 connects to AP3 (wireless)(AP3 is somewhere in the neighbourhood, i dont know where) Some of the APs or all of them may work as bridges, i dont know since i do not have access to their interfaces. I have a desktop, which is connected to my laptop with a crossover ethernet cable.
Wireless connection details:
IP: 192.168.1.72
Mask: 255.255.0.0
Gateway: 192.168.3.2
DNS: 192.168.3.2
LAN details:
Laptop's IP: 10.10.10.1
Desktop's IP: 10.10.10.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
I want to share the Laptop's internet connection with my desktop. Tried ICS, bridging, etc. but nothing seems to be working.

While there I had internet which was set up by a technician. However, now that I'm back, my computer shows that it's conected to the wifi here, but I am unable to get internet access. I recently bought a iMac and it has been fine apart from the wi-fi connection.It used to disconnect me for 2-4 minutes every now and then at first and then this died down, but recently it keeps losing connection altogether. You must realize that I live away from the city and only have an iPhone 4 for a hot spot. It connects via WiFi, Bluetooth and USB. I have found USB quicker, but it doesn't seem to work under Windows 8. So I connect via WiFi only.I have a LAN, based on a D-Link DIR-615 router. This router has a WiFi option and has a Buffalo File server attached to the device that we use as a backup/file server and personal 'cloud'. When I am connected via WiFi and I plug in the Ethernet connection, the computer overrides the WiFi and attempts to connect to the Internet via the Ethernet port. It does know that the WiFi is connected as it is displayed on the bottom of the status bar as 'Internet', but choices to ignore or not check. I have gone to the devices and changed the priority to be Wireless on top and Ethernet on the bottom. This is done via the "Network and Sharing Center", "Change Adapter Settings", ALT-F (to get "File, Edit, View, Tools, Advanced and Menu" options), "Advanced" and finally "Advanced" again.Then put them in the priority you wish. Ethernet still overrides this and times out when I attempt to access anything on the Internet. It works the same on my wife's Windows 7 Laptop. It returns to normal if you unplug the Ethernet cable. Since I wish to have other files available, it is a pain in the bottom to have to unplug the Ethernet cable every time you change over to do something else and I usually forget and have to deal with the 'can't connect' message.It might be a simple solution to connect via WiFi to the router then hard wire the computers to the router, but this hasn't been a workable option. The router doesn't seem to be able to handle that type of connection?

I have a Lenovo G570 model 4334(i3) and it is connecting to my wireless network but has no internet connection ( an alert sign on signal bars appears). I tried turning off, reseting my router and nothing happens. Also, a desktop(direct connection), a laptop and my Galaxy SII connect to wifi without a problem.
