We will be converting two 6500s to VSS. Each chassis has a Sup2T module, fwsm, 6908-10G blade, wism1 blades and two or three 6748-SFP blades. I was wondering how long the conversion process takes? If I remember correctly at the 2012 networkers lab it took maybe 10 minutes while using Sup720s. The instructor mentioned that with Sup2Ts it would convert a lot faster.
View 3 RepliesI have configured a portchannel with 3 ports - lacp active mode I want to pxe boot esx server with Hp Proliant DL 360 G7.
During Pxe Boot the physical Interfaces must be in (I) state - standalone.
The server receives via dhcp the ip but after getting the ip the link goes down for a short time and the switchport goes down and then in (w) state - waiting to be aggregated. Now the server tries to load via tftp the image but the server gets a timeout because the switchport is in state (w). It takes a long time til the switchport comes back in standalone mode (I).
Is it possible to modify the time how long the switchport is in the waiting to be aggregated state on 3750x ?
Would the right command be lacp rate-fast? But this command is not available on 3750x, only 6000 series.
I have a Cisco Aironet 1200 Series Access Point. It takes long time to boot up.
After showing the warning banner message it takes long time before asking for username.

we have tried to use the Cisco Hierarchical model as close as possible. we now have the need for 10 gig servers. we have a 7k, 5k, 6500, and 2960's in our network. we have some open 10 gig ports on our 5k. where is the best place to connect the 10gig servers. or is there a more preferred way to connect these new servers?a 10 gig blade for the 6500, the new 6001 switch?

Once I start it, the wireless indicator in the bottom right corner of the screen shows that it is loading, but then freezes and doesn't let me use most applications on my computer. Then all of a sudden it will so a wireless signal and connection and everything works just fine. On the other hand, when I use the function key on my keyboard that turns off the wireless card before I restart my computer, the wireless stays off when I reboot. Then I turn it back on using the function keys and my wireless will connect automatically. Why is it that the wireless card/connection won't start up quickly if I just leave it on like people always do normally? Why is it that I have to toggle it on/off all the time for it to work connect quickly?

When powered ON no light comes up until 2-3 minutes. Then Internet light goes red for about 2 seconds then power light goes on followed by all lights then it starts booting normally i.e. Power light stars blinking, WiFi light blinking, power light stabilizes, DSL light starts blinking, WiFi light stabilizes followed by DSL & Internet. The TL-MR3220 takes a long time to identify the 3g modem and sometimes it will not identify it at all and says "unplugged". Sometimes "unplugged" suddenly apears after the modem has been identified and was working properly.Is this the normal behavior of this device ? Why ? What can be done ? I'm Using Alcatel X500D 3g modem.
When I boot my system lately I have to fiddle with task manager to get things stable enough to connect to my network. This is getting very tiresome. I always find OdHost.exe taking almost all the CPU and have to kill it to get things running. This can't be normal and has not been until recently. I don't know of anything that has been installed in the last several months that is network related.

The reason that I say this is that some of the commands in the dot1x config guide, such as aaa accounting dot1x, are not valid on this platform. The current IOS is c3550-i5q3l2-mz.121-8.EA1c but the newer format is the ipbase, ipservices, etc. format. There is a newer ios but how do I convert from one to the other? I think I need to research the IOS to see if the new commands are there as well as I want to make sure there are no gotchas from a hardware standpoint if I upgrade.

We are in the process of switching our infrastructure of our routing/firewalls/vpns over to cisco. We are switching our first location and one of the issues I'm struggling with is windows authentication pass-through for internally hosted web pages. Meaning, user inside our network has the 2921 as their default gateway, they try to access a web page that is hosted on the internal network but is secured with windows authentication. In the past, because they are logged into the domain internally, the website authenticates and loads. After switching to the Cisco, it asks for a password even though they are logged in.
Because its the web server that actually authenticates I'm not sure why the router isn't allowing that to happen, but I can't think of anything else that could be causing this behavior.
