View 2 Replies View RelatedI am studying for the CCNA and have my own lab. Several months ago I setup the lab and hand things running well, and decided to put it all away for a while. Alas, now that I have brought it all out again, I don't remember the passwords I used and have since destroyed my documentation, so this is perfect practice at password recovery/config maintenance type of stuff.
I am working on a 2610XM. When I power on the router, I see all the information pasted below. I have tried the password recovery processes described in the cisco knowledge base where we use the rommon prompt to load 0x2142, reset, then enable secret <password> and followed the remainder of the instructions, but when I reload the router after the process, the new password I've set still does not work.
Some things that are not consistent from the documentation that I am seeing are the messages Slot is empty and WIC is empty.
I am wondering if my router does not use 0x2102 for it's load, but it will not show what it is using and I can't run show version because of the password. I am connecting through the console port and using putty to access and configure. Below is a paste of the startup messages after the router decompresses it's image.

Just a few weeks ago I purchased a rvs4000 router. On that small business device is a product called protectlink. To get an activation key, you need a registration key first. That is normal in the package. However, my wify like to cleanup up and throws stuff away that she should not do. So, I lost the registration key.
It is impossible to key a new registration key. The webstore does not have them. They are in the package and will not open an other one. Cisco (if you can get passed the ...you don't have a support contract...go away statement) does not even know that they have this product. Registration keys, never heard of it. But you get the normal ... go to the webstore or trendmicro.... And that after the statement, we don't know that product. How do you know that this is a trenmicro piece of software.....

However I would like the option to have a matrix.domain.net, skynet.domain.net and hal.domain.net that I can RDP to remotely. Is this possible. I was thinking by using different ports on my Router to route the request through to the right server. And if that way would I need to put the port into the name when connecting. ie skynet.domain.net:1234?

I previously was able to do this but the cable modem was recently replaced.The camera software needs a IP Address, subnet mask, and default gateay nformation. I do not currently have a static IP Address.In the camera IP address should I put in the public IP Address of the cable modem or should I create a static IP Address that is on the LAN. such as 10.*.*.*?How can I determine the subnet mask? Do I go to Gateway > Network within the cablem modem menu?The default gateway should be same as the default gateway for the LAN settings in Gateway > Network, right?

I have no problem logging into the VPN, but when using Windows 7 64-bit, I am denied access to the specific folder containing the files I need, even though I can see and open other folders on the same server.
However, if I connect from an old laptop running Windows 2000, I get a login pop-up when I click on the desired folder and after entering my username (including the remote domain name) and password I can access the files. In the newer OS, I just get a stock "access denied" message, with no option to log in. Specifically, in W7 the message is "You do not have permission to access this folder", which is nonsense.
Our IT department is baffled. How to set up W7 so it will allow me to log into the protected folder in the same way I can do it in W2K? Once logged in to the VPN itself, I use the 'run' command with the remote IP address to bring up the folders in a normal Explorer window.
I need to setup a system where my staff can access the internet using the IP address at my buisness. IE. My staff can log into our marketing software (which will only allow access from my buisnesses IP address) from home. My thoughts were to leave the computer on at work all the time and then use a remote access program like logmein to remotley control that computer however I am then limited by only having one person able to do this at a time. But when I connect from another machine, cant.I have only decrypts on the ASA side, without encrypts. I was debugging ICMP packets with the capture feature, and saw that echo-reply packets are returning toward the outside interface, but aren't passing through it.

Where x.x.x.x is LAN and y.y.y.y is the VPN client ip. The nat is ok, access lists are ok, but the packets dont pass through.I tried creating new VPN profile but the same problem, it seems that only one remote client can be active even base license allows more than 1 client.

i can connect to all LAN servers on the local subnet, however i cannot connect through the ASA to any of my site to site vpn's.
if i do an ipconfig on my home pc i can see my local ip, mask & gw, and i can see my assigned remote access ip & mask but no gw.
I cannot ping any remote site to site pc's by IP or name.
