I just got a new WIsm2 to work and I'm missing the second controller on a 6500 the session slot 12 processor 1 comand brings me to the logon screen. but session slot 12 processor 2 ends with an Error, Am I right that the new wism2 has/is only one controller other than the 'old' wism which has processor 1 and 2 ?
Made a big mistake - Installed 64 bit Win7 professional on new HP that had 64 bit Win7 Home premium on it. Computer was a gift, bought as the last one available and was a demo model from Sam's club. Had no idea the ethernet card driver and the wireless software drivers would be lost, but they were, as was the driver for the USB hub. (Used an HP OEM disk purchased on line from Mountain software.)Where to get these drivers, and which ones do I need?
We can not get on line with our home computer (dial-up). The computer dials out, the modem at our ISP picks up and then hangs up - Error 720.[code] The last two were installed by Avira Antivirus, a program which we have uninstalled. Can I download support files for a network adapter? Windows XP SP3
Having just solved the missing network controller on my Dell Inspiron laptop I thought I would try the old Dell dimension 455-0 desktop I have. It too is missing the network controller, I can access web through wireless usb but not though cable or wireless. I have the disc but I can't install from it as I get message saying it is outdated. Tried Intel but the download ends prematurely and so doesnt work.
We have a Cisco 2500 WLC with 136 APs. Recently, we discovered eight APs that were not listed on the Wireless > Access Points > All AP list. These APs were once working and connected, but now they are no longer in the All AP list. I located one of these APs and found the green LED blinking. I power cycled the AP and it came back online with a solid green LED and was then registered on the All AP list. The All AP list will only show the connected APs. I would like to know if there is a method to show the APs that were once connected and are no longer registered so we can better identify when an AP is not working?
just ran a discovery on a large network and found 49 wireless controllers (5500, 4400 and 2000 series) and none of them are showing the controller serial number. They are all running 7.0.235.0 and I found no bugs that match this issue.
My hard-drive crashed, and I bought it refurbished, so I never got a Windows disc. I got a hard-drive from a friend, and I am trying to use it with my laptop, but it is missing the Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and the PCI Controller drivers. I have searched all around, and I can not talk to Acer, for my warranty is past. They just want to repair it.
So my grandpas Dell insperon 6000 crashed and now he cant connect threw a wired connection but he can connect threw a wireless it says the drivers missing i tryed to just reinstall but windows couldnt find it and now idk how to get it to install and also the video controller and vga whatever them are also are missing im not worried about them but i would like the wired connection to work
After change my OS to Windows 7 Pro Enterprise my Dell E5430 missing the network controller driver. let me know the right driver to download and install.
I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my dad laptop after he <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> it up beyond repair. After installing the appropriate drivers I still had no detection on my w lan adapter so I checked out the device list, and it says I'm missing drivers for two things: one is the network controller, the other is just listed as an unknown device.
I already installed every driver for the appropriate devices on the laptop, in the correct order, or as i could best manage it, but still no dice. The only network driver on the disk for my inspiron is one for an Ethernet controller.
We have two wism2 controllers. We have our access points split on the two controllers. I need to move all of the access points on controller 1 to controller 2 so we can perform maintenance on one if our 6500s. Is there and easy way to force all of the access points off the controller without changing any access point configs? I was hoping I could make a change in the controller in such a way that it would not accept any access points. If I had an ap manager interface I think I could do it but that is long gone now.
I am trying to configure the Wism running on a 6500 switch.... I have configured the DHCP scope for the AP on the controller itself with the same subnet as of the management for the controller. The AP gets the IP but once it restarts it doesn't register to the controller, this is the log i get on the AP when consoled into it. [code]
I know that the 3600 series APs are not supported on the 4404 WLC. However, would the following scenario be supported? I would like to use the 4404 (software rel. 7.0) as a guest anchor with a 5508 (software release 7.2) as the foreign controller supporting series 3600 APs. I ask because the APs do not need to join the guest anchor.
We have a customer that have 2 5508 as primary and backup controller and a 4400 as an anchor controller. We plan to upgrade the 5508 to 7.3.112.0 and the 4400 is already 7.0.116.0. Will there be any issue if the anchor controller is not the same code as the foreign controller? Do I also have to upgrade the acnhor controller to 7.0.240.0?
We are trying to navigate the waters in choosing between a in-house, controller-based, wireless network solution or a cloud-based solution. We have been presented with the usual suspects in cloud-based (Aerohive, Meracki, etc) and with Cisco (5500) and Aruba on the other side. We are a multi-campus organization with approx. 200 APs.Any hard reasons why go with a controller-based vs. cloud-based solution? If we must keep the conversation limited to Cisco, why go Meracki over Cisco's WLC solutions or vise versa?
I am looking to configure a wired and wireless guest network. I have industrial barcode scanners that connect to one SSID and then there is the business network on the office SSID (no vlan seperation for these devices just different SSIDs). There is not really a need to seperate the business network from the scanners in any case. However, there are needs for a guest network and this needs to be seperated. At the bare minumum I would like to have the wireless guest network. Here is what I have: 2125 Wireless LAN controller managing 18 LAPs (1 indoor and 17 outdoors)Cisco Cat 2950 switches (2 x 24 port and soon to be replaced with 2 x 48 port 2960's with 802.1x capability) Sonicwall TZ210 firewallOne existing wired and trunked vlan for PLC infrastructure. One ESXi hosting Windows server guests (soon to be 2 with vMotion) The reason for the wired guest access network is tp prevent anyone from plugging into the wall jack in the office with thier home laptops or anyone else from being on the same subnet as our domain machines. Granted they would be unathenticaed but there would be no layer 2 seperation and that is what I think would be best.
How would I go about doing this on the wireless controller without an anchor controller just using my existing hardware? I would like to have the Guest SSID only availible in the front office. Is it possible to offer a guest network while still servicing the business network SSID on the same access point? Then might I be able to have the guest network be treated as it should at the controller? However this might present another issue altogether as the guest traffic will be over the same wire as the business SSID until it hits the controller for management.
I recently moved to another room as I was removing my router I removed some tape unbeknown to me it also removed my MAC Number. Is there anyway I can recover that Mac Number?
I have configured my ASA5520 to act as VPN server. It accepts connections from the internet and then it authenticates the user to a Windows 2008 Server via Radius.Everything works fine if I use the VPN client embedded in Microsoft Windows. Conversely, if I try to configure Cisco VPN Client, I cannot find where to define the PSK string.
I have two 1841 routers running different IOS versions:R1 running 15.0(1)M3 Advanced IP ServicesR2 running 15.1(4)M2 Advanced IP Services R1 supports the encapsulation dot1q second-dot1q on FastEthernet subinterfaces. Surprisingly, R2 with the newer IOS (of the same feature set) does not have the second-dot1q command option. I've done my Feature Navigator homework but I did not see any significant differences between these two IOS versions that would explain why the second-dot1q command is not available on R2. Am I missing something? Has the syntax changed, or a different feature set is needed for 15.1M and higher to get the second-dot1q command back?
The only QoS command i have in global config is (no MLS qos) :
REMOTE-ROUTER1(config)#qos ? restore-show-output Restore old show output shape-timer Set the HQF shape timer interval
The router is running IOS:
System image file is "flash:c2801-ipbasek9-mz.151-4.M5.bin"
Am i just running the incorrect IOS or am i missing somehting, i need to change the QoS Map for my Nortel VoIP. The VoIP phones connect to a 3750 PoE which used to conenct to a 2651XM to route VoIP and data traffic over the same copper pairs (WAN link to hub site) hence the need for a Service policy but being Nortel phones, require changing the cos-dscp map. the 2801 is going to replace the 2651XM using a new HWIC.
today I received a Cisco Router 881G with PCEX-3G-HSPA-G for a customer that ordered a Router with the feature to send/receive SMS and to remotely active the 3G Internet connection through SMS. I believe that the router that meets this requirement is the Router 881G that I received today. In particular, the model is:
CISCO881G-K9
Now, I installed the router and configured the 3G link that is working properly BUT all the commands related to the SMS are completely missing. In particular, I miss the command:
cellular gsm sms send gsm sms archive path
In the following documentation I see that these commands should be available: [URL]The fact that these commands are missing sounds very strange to me since the documentation is pretty clear. Do I need to activate any license? I also upgraded tha router to the last version...
Here it is the show version of the Router:

My company is moving the datacenter to our new building on Saturday, however the users will remain at the old building until late next month so they bought a 100M Metro E VPLS circuit through their ISP. I went to test it today but could not ping the workstation from my laptop. I wanted to do some bandwidth testing with iperf but could never get to that point because ICMP connectivity wasn't even there. From what I understand, VPLS is just a layer 2 extension so they way I'm testing the circuit below SHOULD work, but it isn't. Spoke with the ISP and they tested the circuit end-to-end on their equipment which was fine so am I missing something?
Our church computer isp is WildBlue. They tested the satellite connection as well as the modem.Everything is fine from that end, however, I get a 'server not found' error message.I was told by WildBlue that they cannot see an ip address for the computer. How do I fix this so that we can have the internet back? The computer has WIN XP.
How do i setup my d link dwl 2100 ap at my new address. I have moved and my installation cd has gone missing. The install wizard wants to work off the cd
There is NO connection although Belkin Wireless Adaptor is blinking to catch signal.Whenever there is no connection, I need to click Belkins Utility at System tray at the bottom in order to get connection, however it does not keep connected and lasts only 10-20 minutes.Besides this, I found when I clicked, icon of Belkin > Properties > Network and found there is no 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings.
I'm reading the SWITCH OCG for the second time now, and I noticed page 210 is completely missing: it's a duplicate of page 212. I'm still wondering why I didn't see it the first time I read it.
I am capturing at 2 different locations and I need to find packets that are getting dropped between the 2.
I have done all the merging and everything needed for this in wireshark but because the mac address changes 1/2 way to me all the packets are coming up as lost
is there anyway to remove the MAC address from the captures or as a field it looks at?
I have a stack of 3750's running IOS 12.2(25). "IP forward-protocal" command is configured, but the IP helper command is just not an option to put on an interface. Any have any idea of why that could be?
