I would like my IP Adress through the router to be a IP Address based in the states, thus the proxy server would achieve that. I can do this on my PC, but I would like my router to do it, then all the devices on the network to do that.

Aug 2, 2012I have a Cisco AIR-AP1242AG-A-K9 Autonomous AP running firmware 12.4(25d)JA. I wish to set up multiple SSID's (2) each having their own separate security types. Both security types may end up being WPA2, but would have separate keys. I do not have a managed switch, the AP is connected to a "dumb" switch in an office environment, with no VLANS. Also this is only for 1 access point.
I have tried creating 2 SSID's, but my issue is that only one SSID will actually work at a time, meaning that only the native VLAN in the AP will actually allow wired traffic through it's SSID. How can I set up 2 different SSID's, with 2 independant security types and have them work simultaneously? Is this functionality supported by this AP?I feel that this is possible, as I can easily set this up on other access points from other manufacturers.

Up until this point, I've been doing the management through a Teamviewer 6/7 remote access with my home computer and connecting from the inside IP address (Example: 192.168.1.1), but it's going to be taken away so I wouldn't be able to do that this year. Is it possible to set up a secure telnet on a Linksys E3000 Wireless Unit that way I can control it through Command Prompt, or would I have to set up Remote Management Access to use the unit outside the network through programs like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox?

Jan 21, 2008I purchased a WRT150N in early Dec 07. I had a number of problems with the unit disconnecting from wired and wireless connections erratically anywhere from 1/2 hr to 10 hrs. of operation. Troubleshoot thru Linksys chat. Ended up replacing router. Now I am having the same problem with replacement router. I've updated my windows XP, SP2, updated Ethernet driver and manually reconfigured router per Linksys advise. Wife and my laptops have N adapters, primary PC is wired in. It seems to disconnect all connections at same time, totally random. The only way to reconnect is to power down router for a few seconds and then power up.

Aug 1, 2012I want to install a pair of 5508 to manage the whole wireless solution and I have a few questions regarding deployment, Please refer to the topology. The management and ap manager interfaces are conifgured with the same ip address range and thus the same vlan which is 10.160.254.X/24 also all the APs(1,2,3) in that building have the same IP address range for management which will be manually conifgured. The AP's (4 and 5) on the other building have another range of IP address for management and here is the first question. Will the AP's 4 and 5 join the WLC if I manually configure them to point to it? I know I can group interfaces and use them with the same SSID BUT the WLAN vlan in both sides are different and are separated by a router and hence the next question: Can this be done even if they are separated? and if I can, how is this possible, should I configure a dynamic interface in the WLC with an IP of that network even if it doesn't exists on that side? I'm kind of confused with this.

Apr 20, 2011Monday, I had a cisco 1750 router in place suddenly stop communicating to a Larscom ISP owned unit. Since then I have sent two replacement 1721 routers with WIC-1ENET cards. I have used the original straight thru cable to connect the 10baset port on the Larscom to my E0 on the WIC-1ENET. No link lights on either. I have also tried a known working straight thru cable and a crossover cable. No link lights.
I can take a crossover cable from a pc and ping the E0 port without issue. The ISP is telling me it is an issue with my equipment.

I haven't figured out an effective way of determining what underlying issue is the actual source. How to understand what the Dispatch Unit process is doing? I have an ASA 5550. I have seen the cpu hover around 85% +- 5% for sustained long periods, 30 - 60 min +. I have always been under the impression that around 80% cpu and you're probably dropping packets (that could be an out-dated belief).

May 12, 2011What process I need to follow to rebuild my failover unit? I've had to turn it off because it seems that both the primary and secondary were thinking they should both be the active unit. I'm not sure why. But in turning off the failover, I had internet access again. So I think I want to rebuild the secondary unit's configuration. Do I need to turn off failover from the primary unit first? Disconnect the secondary unit, console into it and remove the configuration (command to remove from flash?)? Rebuild the interfaces..all interfaces or just STATE between the units? Just trying to get a list of the process
